We didn’t manage to go ijen during our trip due to closure of ijen. Instead the tour group suggested for sewu waterfall, which we enjoy there as well. The views at waterfall and Bromo sunset was amazing. Be prepared for overcrowded ppl. Our guide, Rama was very friendly & helped us arranged everything we asked for, thanks to Rama, our trip was smooth & hustle free. Homestay places were fairly great, the best if u can bring along own shower needs & warm clothes for Bromo places to hike up.

This trip is so amazing! We went to Madakaripura waterfall, Mount bromo & Mount ijen. The sunrise and volcano is such a good experience. We love such hiking trips! The planning, duration of the trip, homestay, food places are really great. The tour guide is very friendly and very punctual. There is no language barrier as they can speak English and Malay. Highly recommended for this trip and good to book the tour under them. They reply very quick and provide us with the packing list and things needed for the trip. They make our trip so convenient and good to go!

Rio was such an amazing guide, accomodating to our every needs to ensure that we had a wonderful time. He was super friendly and funny, and really brought this trip up to the next level. 10/10 would recommend him! We were also super lucky that the weather was in our favour and got clear skies for both days for Bromo and Ijen. Managed to see the beautiful stars (almost the whole milky way) and sunrise at Bromo, and the blue fire and sulfur lake at Ijen. The surrounding mountains are equally breathtaking and this is really a unforgettable trip. Homestay near Ijen was acceptable, but the one at Bromo yearns to be better.

Had an amazing 4D3N tour to Ijen/bromo with a side trip to capture the Milky Way at bromo. Overall the car rides were long (> 6-7 hrs) but comfortable, kudos to my driver and guide Arya who’s extremely reliable and careful on the road. The local guides at Ijen and Bromo are very warm and friendly as well. Overall, both locations didn’t disappoint and it was such a sight to behold.

This was a good tour to see both Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen in 2 days and a beautiful waterfall, however it did not include the price of any of these attractions. As a solo traveller I paid £337 for the tour which only covered the cost of driving (of which there was a lot and my driver Denys was fantastic), 2 nights of very mediocre accomodation with cold showers and 2 mediocre breakfasts. The attractions of the tour cost about an extra £45 plus any meals except for breakfast plus tips. It was 2 very early mornings (2am and midnight) for the volcano hikes but worth it for the views we got. The volcanos sights were stunning although we didn’t get to see any blue fire at Mount Ijen. Activities for the day are done by about 10am and would have been nice to have something to do in the afternoons but there is a lot of driving involved. If I were to do it again I would want to join a tour where I was with other people to make it more sociable and affordable. Something that would have been good to know which is mentioned in the description but I was unsure of is that your driver can take you to the harbour to help get to Bali at the end of the tour if that is your next destination, which I hadn’t appreciated and instead drove 6 hours the opposite direction to my hotel to then catch a flight to Bali the next day. I appreciated Denys’ flexibility in allowing us to go to the Mount Ijen hot springs after that tour.

Visited Surabaya for the first time to climb Mount Bromo and Mount Ijen. The local guides were friendly, helpful and could speak English well. Hats off to our driver, Denys because he was so hospitable, well-mannered, gentle and helpful. He even went out of his way for small gestures such as translating the menu to English for us, asking if everything is okay from time to time and most importantly, driving the whole time without a single complaint, despite having to drive with limited amounts of sleep and rest. Kudos to Denys and it was because of him as well as the local guides that we had an absolutely enjoyable trip. Would definitely recommend Tour Mount Bromo for anyone keen to visit Surabaya!

The tour was very well-organised and we really enjoyed the trip! The views for Madakaripura Waterfall, Mt Bromo and Mt Ijen were spectacular and the local guides were really great. They helped us to take so many nice photos. More importantly, our driver (who was also our Mt Bromo guide) Denys was amazing. He was very nice, hospitable and well-mannered towards us and he really displayed an excellent level of service whenever we required help or assistance. Despite having to meet at 1.30am and having to drive 2 hours to the Mt Ijen hiking point, he even prepared a birthday cake for my partner after knowing it’s his birthday - it was so sweet of him and both of us had a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed having him and would recommend him! Kudos to Denys! 💯

This is the first time I have ever been hiking up to volcanoes. The views are stunning and magnificent - the crater, starry night, sunrise and the turquoise hotspring lake. I enjoyed walking around the crater and was lucky able to spot traces of sulfur within the vent. Special thanks to the guide, Rama, who shared his knowledge, history and anecdotes about the volcanoes. He was dedicated to make our trip fun and exciting - by taking good photos, introducing local snacks and so on. In my opinion, this tour is definitely recommended to enthusiasts in hiking and adventures. An experience worth remembering!

Book the tour to take the hassle of planning off our hands and it did. We didn’t have to worry about getting from point A to B, booking of hotel and local guide at the attractions. We had a different expectation about having a tour guide with us. He was good person to help with coordination and communication but not exactly a tour guide. We were expecting a “tour guide” that would share about the places, culture & history etc. Really enjoyed all the attractions. As for the waterfalls it was fun & beautiful but honest pretty dangerous because we had to trek to it in slippers (fyi the local guides were in slippers too). Our tour guide told us the path was easy and it’s on a flat packed path. Flatter definitely as compared to both the volcanos but it was narrow and kinda like walking along the side of a “Clift” (steep drop). At the end to get to the main waterfall we need to rock climb to it. Would totally appreciate if there’s an option to choose 2 single beds. Overall, I did enjoyed the tour.

The 3D2N Mount Bromo and Mount ljen package was quite well-planned thanks to Mr Alex and his team. Despite the closure of Mount ljen due to safety reasons, we were informed in advance and were brought to an alternative location. Both our accommodations in Bromo and Malang were pleasant - with amazing mountain views in Bromo and well-situated Guest House in Malang. Our visit to Mount Bromo definitely was not disappointing, in fact the sunrise appreciation and the 4 wheel jeep experience gave us many opportunities to take awesome pictures! Special mentions to our driver, Oni Soekotjo, for his excellent driving skills and jovial personality which made our tour an enjoyable one. He was knowledgeable, at the same time he helped us snap photographs at unique angles. A bonus point about this tour was that they brought us to attractions at non-peak hours (weekdays tour), hence making the sightseeing experience hassle-free. Overall, I would recommend this trip package to anyone who loves nature, trekking and sightseeing. I personally went on this trip with two other friends (Diploma students) for our Graduation Trip and it was rewarding yet affordable. Thumbs up experience! :)

I took the 3D/2N package from Tour Mount Bromo Pte Ltd. We were greeted by our local guide at Surabaya airport and headed for a Safari tour at Taman Safari Indonesia No.2 before heading to Bromo terrace hotel. The safari park was new with a good variety of animals. We saw the tigers, lions and bear close up and hand fed the deers from our vehicles. We reached our hotel late evening, after spending six hours on the road trip. The next morning, we started early at 230hrs from our hotel. There was a 4WD jeep booked for our half day stay at Bromo. Firstly we ascended to the look out point. We waited for one and half hour with others to catch sunrise. We were well prepared whilst waiting in the cold. Unfortunately, we did not get a clear sky as mist covered the middle sections of the volcanos and the entire valley beneath. We were told that it was best to visit after the rainy seasons from Jun to August. Afterwhich, we descended the lookout point and headed to Mount Bromo. The carparking lots were located some distance from the volcano, and there was the option of riding on a horse to the base of the crater’s staircase. However, we decided to enjoy the 30 minutes brisk walk socking in the amazing landscape with photographs. The view from the crater rim was fantastic. Mount Bromo was smoking, with fluids swirling within the crater. Walking along the crater rim was exciting. The short safety rails extend about 100m on either side. Continuing the walk beyond that was not for the faint hearted, as the path were less than a meter wide with steep dropping slopes on either side. We returned to our accommodation at 8am for breakfast and departed Mount Bromo at 10am. The next 6 hours, we were on the roads heading towards Mount Ijen. We checked into El Royale hotel & resort at 7pm. Quickly, we arranged for a dinner in the room as we were required to set off at midnight. It was drizzling when we reached the Mount Ijen base and I was worried that we may not catch the blue fire. If you do not want to climb, there were miners offering manually pulled cartwheel taxi service to the peak. I joined other tour groups and hiked to the top. The gradient of some sections of the trek was 45 degrees. But, you could stop to catch your breath anytime as the path is wide. It takes about one and half hours to reach the top. When there, you will see a signboard warning against proceeding down into the crater. I continued with the rest. Here the path was steep, rocky and difficult. The pace was very slow with caution not to loss balance and slip in the darkness. I had to don my rented gas mask due to the sulphuric gases and wore a headlamp to free my hands. On the way, we had to give way the sulphur workers. It’s a very difficult manual job to carry baskets of sulphur which were attached on each ends of a bamboo. They had to stop at various intervals to rest their shoulders. At the bottom, I sighted plumes of volcanic gas exiting steel pipes which were buried in the active vents. One of the vents was burning with the blue flames. It was a wonderful and satisfying sight to experience it. Definitely worth the trip down into the crater. After climbing up, I was again unable to catch a good sunrise due to the mist. I decided to enjoy my trip down and took the cartwheel this time. Reached back to hotel at 8 and feasted on the good breakfast spread. I left Bunyawangi at the local airport. Our package coordinator Alex Chua and local guide Ricky did a great job. There were responsive to queries and contactable. My son and I had a smashing time and sincerely appreciate the care and trouble taken by Ricky to look after my son when he was unable to proceed with the Ijen climb.
