The tour was fantastic, the views were stunning, and we took plenty of photos. Our tour guide Duffy was great. At every stop we made he explained everything that went on in that area of the tour. We would definitely do the Mv extended Backcountry tour when I return to this area again. Hats off to Duffy on a fantastic adventure.

We had an incredible day exploring Monument Valley and Mystery Valley. The views, the terrain, the wildlife, all will exceed your highest expectations. What made our trip even more special was our guide, Larry. He was so passionate and knowledgeable about his Navajo heritage, and equally generous in sharing it with us. Every site, while beautiful on its own, was infinitely enhanced by the background and context he would provide us. It wasn’t just site seeing, but a great education on the Navajo and this exquisite piece of land. We highly recommend booking through tribal tours. The organization is professional, fairly priced and clearly excellent at hiring!

Amazing trip but we got caught in a freak storm. Our guide Sandrina was great and got us to a Hogan to keep warm while we waited for vans to come and take us back to camp. Not the day we planned but definitely an adventure. The pick up and drop off from KOA made it very convenient. Beautiful views even in the rain and snow.

We were fortunate to be able to ride in an enclosed vehicle as the morning temperature was pretty nippy. Our guide, Jameson, was friendly and knowledgeable. His took extra care to provide photo-taking tips and shared insights about Navajo culture and practices. It was a memorable tour.

My wife and I had an amazing morning tour with Jameson in an SUV. If the weather is hot or cold we would highly recommend booking an SUV. They do drive better on the bumpy and sandy 'roads'. We were able to go to many more out of the way places with the SUV and in much more comfort. Jameson, our Navajo driver and Guide was spectacular in his local knowledge and ability to sing and play his flute for us. This experience will not soon be forgotten. Hans & Kathy Weber

We can very much recommend this tour which also takes you to parts of Monument Valley you can't visit without a guide: Larry, our guide, showed us lots of amazing spots, always giving us time to take photos, and telling us interesting stories about the historic and cultural background of the Navajos in Monument Valley.

My husband and I took this 3.5 hour tour and it was definitely worth it. Frank was our Dine’ guide and was both entertaining and informative. He shared the cultural history of his people and helped us understand so much about the beautiful landscape we were seeing. Can’t recommend this tour enough…it’s not to be missed.

It was a wonderful experience. We used a private tour due to physical limitations and use of a service dog. Our guide was most helpful and very supportive of our needs.

Jameson was a great tour guide! He gave us good insight into the Navajo culture and the ways the Navajo people live in the desert environment. Not only is he an amazing storyteller, he is a musician too. Take this tour to hear him play the flute and sing in Navajo.

We had THE best tour guide in Cheryl. We started our tour at The View Hotel and made our way into Monument Valley. Throughout the whole tour, Cheryl was informative and answered any question we had. She even sang with the other guides when they sang songs of their people. She was very pleasant and accommodating taking pictures of our whole group. It was nice to have a small group of 6 people making it intimate enough to not have to fight to talk to your guide and get information. All the stops we made were beautiful had history of the land and the Navajo, especially stopping at a Hogan and getting a demonstration of weaving by an older woman in the Tribe. Great tour that I totally recommend!! Cheryl, Cheryl, Cheryl!!!

The scenery is breathtaking. Our Navajo guide Cheryl was fantastic. She was knowledgeable, a great driver, and had a good sense of humor! We saw beautiful arches and places you cannot view without a guide. Well worth the cost of the tour!

We picked up our Extended Backcountry tour at the View Hotel. After discovering we had hopped onto the wrong tour vehicle, we quickly corrected our mistake, and our tour commenced with four other individuals, and our guide, Larry. The tour itself was impressive, and offered grand views of Monument Valley, as well as a stop at a hogan belonging to a local family. There we met a young Navajo woman who shared various elements important to the Navajo way of life and demonstrated the traditional method of spinning wool into yarn (yes, we even saw the sheep on the property). Larry was an excellent guide; he provided history, explained the Navajo culture, freely shared his knowledge with the group, and even provided hints for the best photo opportunities. This tour was a highlight of our recent trip to the Southwest, and we would definitely recommend it to enhance your time in Monument Valley. Thank you, Larry, for the amazing experience!
