This was a great day trip from Quito. We easily saw a hundred hummingbirds, which was my favorite part of the experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable about Ecuador’s current events and history, and he catered the experience to our interests.

Driving through the mountains with such an experienced & knowledgeable guide. Seeing valleys & getting an appreciation for the way of life for some. The hummingbirds visit was so unique & quite an intense experience. Getting to understand how ecuadorian people view the land & their unique position in the world. Walking through rainforest to sse the plants , birds and scenery. Lunch with a local father & son run business to experience a traditional meal of Tonga.

The Mindo cloud forest was so beautiful! And, we loved the hummingbird farm. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful.

It was an amazing fun full day. Our guide was excellent in answering all of our questions and gave us options so we could customize our day. I highly recommend this tour.

We were picked up with Freddy. He had amazing English and great conversational skills! The drive was 1hr 40 but because we were just chatting, it felt so much quicker! The stop at San Tadeo lodge was fantastic. We arrived early and had the whole place to ourselves. There is such an abundance of bird life here. We then ventured to the cable car, to the butterfly farm (which had lots of butterfly species around) and then for a great lunch in Mindo. The tour didn't feel rushed and Freddy gave us plenty of time for our activities. It was really enjoyable. Thank you!

Having a free day in Quito before heading to the Galapagos, we travelled with Lois to do some bird watching. Little did we know we would see a mass variety of birds plus beautiful flora! Lois arrived on time to our hotel and we were off. Unfortunately, due to damage on a major highway, the route was extremely busy with traffic, but Lois drove safely and we arrived at Refugio Paz just as the sun was starting to rise. We met up with one of the owners who spent the next 5 hours guiding us through his preserve in the Mindo Cloud Forest looking at hundreds of birds! It was amazing! He then asked us for insight into our wants and if there was anything else in particular we wanted to see. I asked to see Toucans. At 11:00, we decided to skip lunch and Lois took us to a small hide on the other side of the mountain with more amazing plants including many orchids and the promised sighting of Toucans and Toucanettes! Lois then decided that one more stop was in order and it was an experience of a lifetime! On our way back to Quito we stopped at Reserva Alambi where we fed hummingbirds by hand! We arrived back at our hotel a bit later than planned due to all the traffic, but that was fine. This was the best excursion we have ever experienced and we have been to over 45 countries! Lois was knowledgeable about the birds, the locations to find any species you want, and has connections at all the locations to ensure you have an amazing time! We HIGHLY recommend him and this company!

Humming bird is most interesting while the butterfly is bit of not enough since not much butterfly species showed.

We had a great time with a very flexible itinerary. Fredy was our initial guide with lots of information and useful insights into Quito and the surrounding areas. Road construction on the main Mindo highway was reported to be brutal and because we had a hard return time we reorganized our plan. We ended up heading to Alambi Hummingbird Preserve and Cloud Coffee Plantation. Had amazing time with lots of hummers and trogans. After some great coffee we went to a volcanic crater park and then lunch. The final stop was Intinaya Equatorial Center which was unexpectedly informative. Overall a terrific adventure and would highly recommend.

Luis was fantastic. He was on time picking us up at the hotel. He was both attentative to what we wanted to see and do and knowledgeable of the area. Couldn't recommend him higher.

We spent a glorious day travelling to the Mindo Cloud Forest on a private tour arranged with Veronica a few weeks prior to arriving in Quito. Veronica arrived as scheduled for an early departure from our airport hotel and curated a wonderful day for us to the magical Mindo Cloud Forest. Her knowledge of the region and also specifically many of the residents and business owners in Mindo made for a very personalized adventure into the forest. She knows all the best places to stop, including a wonderful bistro on the way where we picked up our lunch to eat later. We had our lunch at the Yumbos Chocolate Workshop where we enjoyed a fantastic presentation by Jonathan about the Ecuadorian chocolate industry and a formal tasting of 10 types of Yumbos Chocolate - including a brownie and hot chocolate! This was followed by the magic of the day - San Tadeo Birding - where we stood amongst hummingbirds who drank out of our hands and observed toucans in the forest. Our day was rounded out by a visit to the centre of the earth (the real equatorial line) at the Intinan Solar Museum. Spectacular private tour by Veronica and driver Marcelo is highly recommended. The other bonus feature is that the price was half the cost of the larger ‘group’ tour providers and we were picked up at our airport hotel which was super convenient for us. Thanks Veronica!

We had an amazing day in Mindo with our guide Miriam. She was an excellent driver and we had wonderful conversations about nature, history and culture of the region. She was very knowledgeable! We opted to take the sky bike adventure and had a lot of fun riding above the canopy. The hummingbirds were absolutely a highlight, as was the chocolate tour in Yumbos. The cloud forest was an amazing place to pick out different species of plants (especially orchids). If you have the option to take an overnight trip to Mindo, we recommend that to see more birds in the morning. We would have loved to spend more time there and would absolutely recommend Miriam as a guide.

We had a private Mindo Forest tour with Freddy, the owner. We did birding, gondola ride, and chocolate tour at Yumbos. Highly recommend all three but Freddy was the best part. Excellent driver, extremely knowledgeable, and sooo fun to spend the with. Don't miss out!

I went on this tour in hope of seeing birds. After our Quito hotel pick-up (on time!) the first stop was a hummingbird reserve delivered more than I could had hoped for, and not just humming birds. From there we headed to Mindo for sightseeing, chocolate making and lunch. It was a good day - our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I'd definitely recommend this tour for anyone with a free day in Quito.

Carlos was a wealth of knowledge and a breath of fresh air during our Mindo tour. The scenery was amazing and Carlos was flexible with our schedule, ensuring we had enough time for every activity and never feeling rushed. We highly recommend him.and this tour!

We had a great day with Ximena. She shared all the options we could do on the day and we chose what were of most interest to us. Lovely waterfall walk with Ximena sharing her vast knowledge about the flora and fauna. Such beautiful orchids. The Hummingbird centre was a truly delightful experience. Chair ride to above the cloud forest for a Birds Eye view of the forest. Ximena found us a lovely restaurant in Mindo. Charming little town. A thoroughly enjoyable day with the lovely Ximena.

Our guide, Miriam, was so knowledgeable about Ecuador. She tailored the trip to our interests. This included a visit to a hummingbird farm, a hike to a waterfall, a cable car ride, a visit to a butterfly sanctuary and chocolate making. A wonderful day.

Andreas was an excellent guide. He took us for a relaxing hike to see some waterfalls and various plants and animals. We also really enjoyed the hummingbird garden and the butterfly garden. Great day!

Our guide Ximena went above and beyond, ensuring that we had a wonderful experience. She was very friendly, knowledgable and passionate about the places we visited.
