Emma was amazing! Had lots of fun! The view was straight out of a movie… We were all trying rafting for the first time and they were very understanding through the process…

We loved our whitewater rafting experience! I was with my mom and my two teenage boys who had never rafted before. Austin, our guide, was amazing! He was funny, shared a lot of fun facts about the area, and my boys really enjoyed him. He taught them how to paddle and they are now super excited to come back! This was the highlight of our whole vacation!

This tour was amazing. We did the Cottonwood Family Float because we had never done whitewater rafting and weren’t sure what to expect. Both Paula and Jonah were amazing. They were both experienced, funny and put us at ease. The ride didn’t have a ton of rapids, but enough to make it fun. Perfect one for our first time. We were a group from a retirement community in Boulder, that included folks in their 80s. Billy and his team took amazing care of us. We felt well informed but also there was so much fun and humor in the trip. Also, Billy told us lots of interesting information about geography and wildlife that we passed. Thanks so much!

My husband and I did the Cottonwood Family float with our 10 year old and 4 year old. We chose this trip because we had never been rafting and we had a little one with us. It was perfect! Fantastic intro to rafting. Sam was our guide and she was awesome. My son (10) said it was his favorite part of our whole vacation and he is ready for a more difficult trip next time!

We did the family float for time reasons primarily, and really enjoyed it. It was a calmer introduction to rafting, which I appreciated. Afterwards, I did feel like next time I’d be ready for the next step up, having had this good experience. Billy was an excellent guide and teacher. There were two kids, 7 & 8, on our trip, and they loved it. I would say this is fantastic for beginners, families of young kiddos, or older individuals, who’d like to test the waters and their affinity for rafting before going on a longer, more challenging run.

Had a great experience with Austin!!! Took my 4 yr old and 8 yr old. My 8 yr old loved every second. My 4 yr old liked it ok but got pretty nervous with some of the rapids. (I believe there are a couple of class 3 rapids on this trip) 7 miles down the river was just the right amount for our family. Loved the photos from the photographer!

This rafting trip was perfect for our group of 6, ranging in age from 4 - 75. Plenty of gentle floating through beautiful landscapes with just enough white water to make it a fun adventure. Kat, our guide, was wonderful: competent, entertaining, and full of fun facts. This float is a great introduction to rafting. Our granddaughters can't wait to go again!

We booked the family float because our family of 5 had never gone rafting before. Our kids are 9, 11 and 15 years of age and we felt safe and had a blast!! The photo album is worth purchasing!!

The actual float and guide were very good. The management and organization were poor. The trip left 50 minutes past scheduled time so we had a long wait and missed our next planned vacation tour. (9:30 scheduled float and were told to arrive by 9:15. We left on the bus toward the start of the float start at 10:20). No apology offered. We were also charged for items that were not provided as indicated.

We had a great time with our special needs child on the family float. They fit us in with short notice and were very Accomodating. Our guide Kat was fun also!

We did the Cottonwood Family Float. Mostly level 1 and 2 rapids with a couple of level 3’s. Great experience for first time on whitewater. The folks at Arkansas River Tours in Cotopax, CO were amazing. Equipment was super clean and safe and everything was thoroughly sanitized again upon return. Our guide, Kat, was very nice, and divided lots of the information about the area as we went down the Arkansas River. Looking forward to next time with more advanced waters.

Great outfitter! Ethan and Austin were fabulous with our two rafts. We had six children (ages: 5,7,7,7,8,9), two adults over 60, and 4 others split into two rafts. Best of all - paddling was optional.

If you are bringing young children, beware of a tour-guide by the name of Austin. He was annoyed at my 11 years old child, and rather than notifying us (his parents) of whatever issues he had with our child so WE were the ones to take any corrective actions if any were needed, he decided to instead take revenge - as he word per word described it to us - and dragged my 11 years old child to the middle of the river while making it seem like it was all in fun, and then once in the middle of the river, Austin's demeanor changed and forcefully dunked my child's head underwater and then proceeded to boast that he had done it for revenge and that he had done similar pay-backs before to other children. This part completely ruined the whole experience to unimaginable levels and it weighs heavily on me as a parent that I chose this company as our first rafting experience to begin with. Don't let this happen to your children. 

We had so much fun on this adventure. I highly recommend this place and specifically Austin. He was our guide and such an expert on the rapids! He kept us all very safe and was amazing with our kids! He never became flustered when the boys were asking so many questions. Great time!!!

We had 3 kiddos 10, 8 and 5 with us so we needed a somewhat calm ride. Our guide was amazing and gave us just enough splashing! Never concerned about our safety and had a great time.

This was our families first time to raft and Kasen did an excellent job as our guide! She shared lots info about different things we passed along the river, kept the trip interesting! Highly recommend Arkansas River Tours for families with younger kids! Our boys are 8 & 9 and they had a blast! The trip was the perfect amount of time for us too, not too long and not too short.
