Fantastic overall walking tour by Eduardo. He is very knowledgeable with family roots within the region, and this tour covers the major highlights of this beautiful city. The weather was very hot and humid so be sure to wear something light but also covers your skin if you are susceptible to UV light.

This tour was amazing, worth at least twice what we paid, and should be a priority for first time visitors to Merida. Eduardo is a very enjoyable person and is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the city and it’s notable buildings. He provided all kinds of interesting information about the Mayan culture and its continued presence through the inquisition to today. He told fun stories and illuminating anecdotes about Merida and its residents and gave us fabulous recommendations for other activities. My Guide Mike is fantastic.He met me early in the morning. We had a delicious healthy breakfast and did walking tour. The tour was done extremely well with very interesting details, and with a profound knowledge of the area and the history. Our guide Eduardo was very knowledgeable about his city. He explained both the Mayan and Spanish history in a clear and easy to understand manner. He also spoke the Mayan language and could translate the many signs in Mayan. I really liked this tour of the city.

Walking tour of Merida was delightful, informative, so engaging. Mike is so informed on the history, culture, and streets of Merida - especially focused on answers to our questions and interests. We so appreciated the information he sent us the next day on things to do at night in Merida. What kind follow up. And his advice to visit the murals in the Palacio de Gobierno was much appreciated. It was one of the highlights of our visit. Go! And do the tour!

Paolo and his wife were wonderful guides. They were very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Merida a d its history. They had fun treats and were willing to answer questions. Their English was very good.

Eduardo was incredibly knowledgable. He, his wife and assistant were so kind. We learned more in the time we spent with them then we would’ve on our own for sure. They also had great recommendations at the end for the rest of our trip and we could ask any questions we wanted and if they didn’t know they’ll get back to us with the answer. You don’t want to miss this walking tour.

This tour with Eduardo was the best. Relaxed. Personal. Fun. Informative. At each stop he had insights and history to impart. His personal knowledge of the Mayan cultural context was very valuable. Group was small - 5 adults. Started out at a nice modern hotel for coffee and breakfast if you’d like. Total time was a relaxed 3 hours.

This is such a great tour! I didn’t have a lot of time, and so I wanted a quick introduction to the city, and this was just perfect! I was able to see a number of the highlights, our tour guides were absolutely charming and responsive to the needs of the group, and there were lots of little special surprises along the way! I know there are a lot of competing tours, but honestly, I would highly recommend this one!

A very interesting walk focusing on well-chosen highlights of downtown Merida. Guides were a lovely couple and knowledgeable about what we saw, as well as being able to answer many other questions. I learned a lot and now appreciate Merida history/culture more.

Walking with Eduardo (Mike) and Shirley was an awesome way to get acquainted with Centro. They were both so friendly and helpful. Eduardo was very knowledgeable of the history of the area, its buildings and parks. He also had both knowledge and good stories about the Mayan culture. He was clearly passionate about his subject matter and very proud of his city and his Mayan heritage. We were so glad that we had chosen the Mike and Duck Walking Tour as our intro-"Duck"-tion to Merida!

Eduardo ("Mike" of Mike and Duck) and his wife Shirley provided us with a wonderful morning of history, fun stories, entertainment and knowledge of Merida. We met at Ontica Urban Design Hotel, where we were met by Mike and had a nice breakfast at the hotel. We then began our walking tour of the Centro area of Meridan, led by Mike and Shirley, who were both extremely knowledgeable of facts, history, and myths of Merida, Yucatan, and the Mayan culture. The tour was a great pace, stopping at parks and historic buildings to provide history and context to this beautiful city. The presentation was fun as well as informative. Eduardo and Shirley were so friendly and so fun - keeping a pace that allowed us to see a lot of the Centro area - pointed out buildings and areas that we could come back to for further explanation, shared a wonderful story about Eduardo's experience with Alux - the god who protects the cenotes. I highly recommend Eduardo and Shirley - and please ask Eduardo about his story of Alux!

Eduardo (Mike) and his wife, Shirley, led us in the most wonderful, informative walking tour of Merida! We began with a nice continental breakfast at the Ontico Hotel. We then visited several key spots in Merida, such as cathedrals, parks, historical buildings and a theater. At each stop, Eduardo helped us learn so many interesting facts about the history of this lovely city. His information was interspersed with wonderful stories. Eduardo is so knowledgeable about and proud of the Mayan culture. Make sure and ask him to tell you his Cenote story! 😜 Both Eduardo and Shirley were so very pleasant and accommodating, checking often if we needed to stop, get a drink or cool off. I highly recommend the Mike and Duck walking tour for anyone wanting to get a good feel for the city while enjoying such friendly guides!
