We absolutely loved this tour. Tried so many unique things - including a lot of historical background about the ingredients and evolution of the dishes we had. You will walk away more than full! Our guide was also able to easily accommodate both gluten-free and vegetarian.

Every stop had great food that I never would have tried on my own. My 14 year old daughter ate things she never would have. Nico gave great insight on the neighborhoods, the food, and some Mexican history. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our food walk with our guide, Nico. He showed us a lot of amazing and different street food places. He was also very good at explaining the history behind the food we ate.

Portions were great ! But Honestly I wasn’t blown away by the taste quality of Mex City street food (have had better in other cities) , and found the flavours of the dishes served from the various street carts to be just average. The food at the final spot : a farm to table Choclatiera , where we sampled an incredible hot chocolate served nice n cold for the hot day and chocolate mousse dessert to die for! YUM!

We had an excellent food tour and sampled many local street foods. Our guides Fernando and Nico were excellent. Nico‘s explanation of why turkey is turkey was fascinating. We would definitely go again.

Our guides (Clara and Toti) were phenomenal and were accommodating to all of our dietary restrictions. Their knowledge of the street food was top tier. We had 7–10 different types of dishes along with a few drinks. The overall experience was incredible. 10/10 would recommend.

This is an excellent way to learn about food and how to eat safely from the street vendors. As it was explained to us, there are millions of people that eat this way every day. We enjoyed the education as well as the selection of foods. Our guide Tonalli was very patient and knowledgeable. She adjusted our food selection to accommodate our wishes. She is wonderful and would highly recommend her as a guide.

We had a wonderful, and fun tour with Tonalli on our first day in Mexico City. She guided us through two markets, and we saw and tasted things we never would have done by ourselves. The fruit tasting was eye-opening for sure, along with snacking on the obligatory chapulines which were actually very tasty. The best street food, I have ever had were the tlocoyo’s with a fava bean paste, nopale salsa etc., cooked by a sweet woman on the street close to the San Juan market – incredible! So many delicious tastings, including coffee and aquas frescos. I learnt a great deal from Tonalli, not only about the food of Mexico City, but its history too, so informative and super helpful for our subsequent museum visits. I would definitely do another tour when we go back to CDMX, and I highly recommend Tonalli – she was amazing!

Tonalli was a wonderful guide and gave us lots of information about the foods we were eating. You could eat all you wanted. We ate at multiple places. Highly recommend to get your feet wet in finding good street food in Mexico City.

We were delighted to have Clara as our guide for the Street Food Tour. She was warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. Every stop was a taste sensation. We were introduced to a variety of foods and drinks that opened our culinary horizons.

Had a wonderful Mexican street food tour in the lovely Santa Maria la Ribera (Mexico City) neighborhood with my superb guide Adrien. Adrien is a professionally trained chef, currently taking a well deserved break from the hard life of kitchens. He speaks superb English, is highly intelligent and being a Mexico City native, very knowledgeable about the less visited but very charming neighborhoods in the city. First stop was to a beautiful restaurant in a renovated, elegant home, where I had the lightest, most flavorful enchilada I've ever had. Very different from our American Tex Mex enchiladas which tend to be smothered with heavy cheese. Not these! Other stops included a wonderful "hole in the wall" tamales place that produced hundreds of fresh tamales daily - freshness being the key word. The wild mushroom tamale that Adrien selected for me was out of this world. The local food market was a fun experience culminating in lamb barbecoa, which was sensational. Finally, we went to a great shop where I had a dome-like yeast chocolate cream filled pastry that would give any Krispy Kreme doughnut a run for its money. Amongst all this was great conversation about Mexican culture and social issues with a young bright, observant and sophisticated guide. What a pleasure this was. Highly recommend this company and a by name request for Adrien in particular.

We did the Eat Mexico Street Food Tour with Tonalli. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to talk to. We loved everything we ate and we enjoyed learning about each dish. We learned so much about Mexican food, culture, and history! We would do all the Eat Mexico Tours if we could and would definitely recommend Tonalli as a guide. This was one of the highlights of our trip in Mexico City. Well worth the money!
