Diego was a great guide and helped us prepare delicious meals, plus we got to drink a margarita or drink of our choice while eating our guacamole…would highly recommend this tour

Pros - Pickup was timely and the transportation was good. - the cooking class was in a family restaurant. Made our own tortillas, learned tips for guacamole, and much more. - Diego was an excellent guide, fun and knowledgeable. - food was good Cons - stopping at all the hotels was a bit frustrating and added an hour with other guests not being ready. Not really the tours fault. Just be on time people. - The market was interesting, but we could have had more information on fruits, veggies ,etc. - not as much food as indicated. Eat a good breakfast before the tour. We didn't really eat until 2pm. Overall a great experience and would do it again.

I always love Market 23, and G was a good instructor, but we didn’t get any recipes to take home. The restaurant where we had the class was interesting.

This was the second tour we did through Cancun food tours, and was just as great as the first one. Nassim, our tour guide and chef, picked us up with Alex at our hotel, and took us to a local market. There we toured the market, learned what to look for with ingredients, and got to go behind the scenes of fresh tortilla making. We picked up tomatoes and other produce, got back in the van, and headed to a separate restaurant location where we were able to cook several different dishes: guacamole, a tostada, enchiladas, and a quesadilla. All of the dishes were made from scratch with super fresh ingredients. After cooking, we ate, and got to talk to the other members of the tour. This is not a short event. The market, tour, cooking, and eating took almost four hours, and helped fill up the day. The tour included one free drink, but we were free to buy additional drinks. This restaurant was gorgeous and the staff were amazing. We love cooking while on vacation, and getting to cook with local ingredients with the locals in the way they do makes all the difference. We learned quite a lot and Nassim knows quite a lot as both a tour operator and a chef. Would highly recommend for the whole family. Everyone gets involved.

Wonderful morning activity! I was traveling on my own and really enjoyed this informative group trip through the market and cooking demonstration. Leo was a great driver and Diego was an awesome guide!

We had a great time at the fruit/ meat market, at the cooking class and of course, tasting the fruits of our labor. Everything was delicious and we got the recipes! Highly recommend.

Excellent guide to market and cooking demonstrations. Got to do some chopping and made tamales. A lot of fun and well worth the time and money. We met a couple who had signed up for the class but received misinformation etc. but it was not the fault of the company. They apparently had a travel agent book for them and did not do it properly. The company rep came and met them and tried to help as much as possible but it wasn’t something they could fix as it was not reserved thru them but a third party. Would suggest dealing direct with the company. They sent many emails and texts to confirm the schedule etc. would highly recommend this class and this company m.

We really enjoyed this food tour! Diego, our instructor and guide was open & friendly, taking time to answer any and all questions, food-related or not. Alex, our driver, held down the fort while we shopped and cooked. We had a tour around the market, which was active and interesting, and then we all went to a local restaurant for the cooking class. We made tortillas, sopas, enchiladas, quesadillas, salsa, and rice pudding, and then sat together to enjoy our feast. We met some very nice people, too. If they offered a “Part II” we would do that, too.

Diego was a great guide and teacher, from cooking techniques to navigating local markets and answering any questions we had about pretty much anything, he provided a great experience. Also the best food and margarita we had during our stay, hands down.

Pickup & drop off: seamless. Staff: fun, friendly, welcoming and helpful. Location: restaurant really nice (nice local Mexican vibe), market was insightful as well. The cooking class and food: clearly not set up for larger numbers (13 made up of 5 groups)… not everyone was able to cook, it was one cutting board, blunt knife and equip per group. The food prepared was very basic, each group made their own guacamole and Sopes. Enchilada, Quesadilla and rice pudding were made by the host. It felt very rushed. The excess food was swooped up by the restaurant staff in front of us, rather than being offered up to the group. I had higher expectations of more flavour and more interesting recipes given what we eat in restaurants and see on all the tv food shows of Mexico etc. Value for money: not at all, very over priced given the lacking cooking experience.

Our tour guide and cooking instructor, Hector was great! We made some really good food, some of which I had never tried before. I would definitely recommend this class.

We were picked up on time at our hotel. The communication from Hector was really good. The history of both the food and the market were helpful. We enjoyed the preparation and eating while we prepared authentic cuisine. This was an incredibly enjoyable way to spend our time.

I wanted to do traditional cooking class while on vacay in Mexico, found this site online and booked it for me and my spouse, it’s around $200 for both, included transportation, ingredients and class. We got picked at the hotel entrance door, first we went to the local market to get ingredients and look around, it was interesting experience to mingle between locals and also get authentic souvenirs. Afterwards we were taken to old Mexican restaurant La Pamella where we got to make guacamole and main dishes to enjoy. Margaritas were delicious, beautiful place to eat and enjoy.
