It was a great way to visit the monasteries and see the landscape and hear the geological history, which was fascinating.

We had the best experience exploring the Meteora with our excellent friendly guide Christos. We got to walk trails we would never have found on our own and hiked to some spectacular viewpoints before arriving at the Monastery of Great Meteoran . Christos’ knowledge of the area, the history, flora, fauna and language also really added to the experience. We had a great morning and would definitely recommend. Thank you!

We did the tour with Kristos, it was excellent! His explanations were always complete and super interesting! He is very funny! The place is beautiful, it is a must-see in Greece!

We had been considering not doing a tour but rather wandering around on our own. We are so very glad that we chose the tour. Chris, our guide, was very friendly, humorous and great company as well as very knowledgeable and experienced. He turned what would have simply been a beautiful walk, into a very enjoyable great (half) day! We stopped at lots of beautiful viewing points and learned interesting information along the way. I highly recommend it!

We were the only ones on the tour so it ended up being a private tour. Our guide Chris was very knowledgeable and told us a lot of interesting things about the area. You could ask him any question, from history to plants and sports activities other than walking in the area, and he always had an answer. We weren't able to visit the Great Meteor Monastery as it was closed, but the Varlaam Monastery was a good alternative.

We had our hiking reservation booked for jan 2024. The day before i asked the team about the time for the pickup and they confirmed quickly. The day after, Christos came to our hotel in kalambaka just in time, we picked up another person and went close to the monasteries road. During the whole morning christos shared information about meteora history, the monks, the monasteries and other interesting details. He also told us about himself and we were talking about music and the hobbies we had in common, he was fantastic! He made sure everyone was safe and i could feel he's a great professional. This hiking day was the best part of out visit, we had a lot of fun walking in the nature close to the monasteries. By the end of the morning Christos left us at the hotel again and recommended us a place for lunch (it was great!). I would recommend it 100%. You will enjoy it :)

The best way to discover more about Meteora & to be away from the crowds. Chris our local guide was very knowledgeable about the area as well as about fauna, flora…and mushrooms. He had a great sense of humour and was a pleasure to walk with. He adjusted pace and length of walk to our abilities and interest & gave us tips for further walks.

We were as couple for this hiking tour. Dimitris was our guide, his knowledge of the local attractions was extensive, his passion for the area was contagious, enhancing our overall enjoyment. The hiking tour was an incredible experience. Kostas was a friendly and very knowledgeable guide, and told me so much about the history of the area and the monasteries. With the tour I was able to discover paths and see views that I never would have found by myself. I was a solo traveller and this was a perfect way to see and learn about Meteora.

We started the tour with a short bus ride to our starting point. There were 10 of us. Evan was our guide - He was amazing! Informative, personable, gave us time to walk at our own pace but didn't leave us behind. The hike even though it seems like it would be difficult considering the change in altitude from start to the monastery, wasn't as bad as it looked. There were a few older people with bad knees in the group and it was manageable for all even without technical climbing gear/experience. WE made many stops along the way as Evan pointed out views of monasteries, cave dwellings, historical sites. THe climb up to the monastery via many/many steps seemed overwhelming also but was not that difficult since there were alot of switchbacks. When we went it wasn't hot (warm but not hot). I can't imagine doing those stairs in the heat of summer. Evan had extra walking sticks for the climb down the mountain since it was fairly steep. That is where bad knees would be hindering, but just go slowly and watch you footfalls. IF women weren't wearing a dress to cover their knees, they were given wraps at the monastery entrance. Men just needed long shorts. No tank tops for either. There was a toilet at the monastery (standing up only) and a couple refreshment trucks outside the monastery if you need water/beverage. THe bus picked us up and dropped passengers off at the respective hotels. The tour group even allowed us to store our luggage at the office since we had checked out and hadn't checked in to our lodging. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience and Evan gets 3 thumbs up - he was great!!!

Evan was such a great tour guide and gave us great history lessons and knowledge of the land. Even with a cloudy day he made the experience memorable and we still had great views of Meteroa. Thanks so much!

A 4.5 hour hiking with lots of rest and photo ops. Evan our hike guide was very entertaining and accommodating for all participants. A beautiful hike through rocks and forest to get to the great meteoron monastery. Spectacular views.

We were a group of 6 people and all of us love to hike. So we thought about taking a walking tour in the fascinating area surrounding the monasteries, and I must say, it was an experience that added a whole new dimension to our visit. I highly recommend taking this tour in addition to driving around the monasteries; it's well worth it. The tour lasts approximately four hours and covers about 5.5 kilometers of picturesque terrain. While it's a decent walk, it's not particularly challenging for those who are used to walking regularly (certainly not at the level of the Olympus trek). The pace is comfortable, allowing you to soak in the beauty of the surroundings without feeling rushed. Our guide, Evan, was a true gem. He was not only knowledgeable but also incredibly pleasant. His insights into the history and culture of the area were both informative and interesting. He patiently answered all our questions and shared fascinating stories that brought the history of the monasteries and the surrounding landscape to life. In conclusion, if you're planning to visit the monasteries, I strongly recommend complementing your visit with this walking tour. It's an enriching experience that offers a different perspective, and with Evan as your guide, you're in for a memorable journey filled with knowledge and warm hospitality. Great walk around the meteora monoliths with expert guide Christos. Fantastic views from lots of great angles. Only one monastery which was fine by me!

Chris was one of the best tour guides I've experienced hands down. Paced the hike well, was extremely knowledgeable about the area and Greek history, and in general fun to talk to. It was a pretty intensive hike (in a good way, thoroughly enjoyed the exercise) that gave us breathtaking views of the monasteries away from the crowds.
