Anthony was a great teacher - giving specific, encouraging advice and making sure we caught the waves that were the right size for our skill level. The location was lovely and the water warm. It would have been great to get some action photos. All in all, a fun experience!

A wonderful few hours spent at Merrick’s surf school! It was my first time surfing & something that was on my bucket list of things to try whilst visiting Australia. Oakie (sorry if mis-spelt!), could sense I was a little apprehensive & looked after me so well, giving lots of encouragement & had heaps of patience! Thanks so much for making it all such a great experience :-) Would highly recommend Merricks to anyone wanting to try surfing.

Provided with everything and really nice staff. We were in a group of 4 and I think with anymore people it would have been very crowded - not sure if they would give you two instructors. The issue was is that I was very bad at surfing (not the company’s fault). I understand that I can’t be given more attention than the other people in the group but I was floating in a different part of the sea trying to get to the group for at least 10 minutes, and no one came to help me. I found it very difficult to battle the waves and could have done with a little assistance or just advice before I went in on how to do it as I had never surfed before. Ended up with me getting quite badly hit in the face by the board and really struggling. I sat out on the second half of the lesson. Lovely staff and a nice surf school I just think there could have been a little more assistance when I was struggling so much.

Today was our third time doing a group lesson for the kids 9 and 10 years and myself. Merrick, Carol and Eligh were wonderful with the kids, so much help and feedback on every wave. Feels like we’ve all learned a lot just in our three sessions. Highly recommend.

Great lesson, emphasis on teaching the correct method and then getting you out into the water. Could feel the progress made in just a couple of hours. Our guide Crawf was great and was able to offer advice after each attempt. This is the place to try out surfing when in Noosa.

How can you travel in Australia, without surfing ? And the best way to do it is definitely with them. Perfectly suited for children (one of the 2 members of the staff spent the two hours to coach my little brother, 7). We all had a good time. The only disappointing thing is that we can’t surf more, because we left Noosa the same day.

Awesome experience. First time surfing for my two teenage daughters. They did a two hour private lesson with Anthony and it was absolutely fantastic. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn how to surf.

Just awesome! The personnel is really nice and attentive. They surely know what they are doing. The place is perfect because the beach is shallow and safe enough to be able to learn surfing from 0.

Having never surfed before, and in fact having not much prior experience with the ocean, I signed up for a 5-day surfing course with my partner and friends as a personal challenge. I set myself the goal of being comfortable in the water with a board and being able to pop up, but I far surpassed my expectations. Under the instruction of Crawford, by the end of the five days I was catching green waves independently and turning! Crawford was a phenomenal teacher, providing individualised feedback and encouragement, and teaching us many important things not just about surfing, but also the ocean and how to pick a board. Crawford and everyone else at Merrick's surf school were so friendly and approachable, and we really enjoyed chatting with everyone before and after classes. Can't recommend this surf school enough!

The best experience. From making the booking right through to the end of the session. Couldn’t recommend it more. We attended as a group and by the end of it, we all had stood up and had heaps of runs into the shore… alongside heaps of fails and laughs. The instructors were great at breaking down and communicating a complex skill and made us all feel safe in an unfamiliar environment. Thanks Crof, CJ and Pheonix for such a great time.

Fantastic experience! Everything was so well organised, amazing value for money and the instructors were so helpful and encouraging. I was a complete beginner and by the end of the lesson, I felt so much more confident and had such an incredible time surfing. Thank you so much for such an amazing morning!

Instructors were great, friendly and helpful. We were a group of business colleagues and so we were all different ages and it catered for everyone.

We had a really good time on our surfing lesson - the instruction and safety talk at the beginning were very informative and then we had plenty of time in the water. The instructors watched each person surf in so they could give tips on how to improve the next time. Absolutely fantastic lesson - would highly recommend.

My partner and I had an awesome time learning to surf with Antonio and Ned. We were on holiday for a week and took a week's worth of lessons at Merrick's. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and we had a blast!

Merrick’s Noosa Learn to Surf lesson was amazing and a great option for a hens. We were hesitant of the cold given it was June, the middle of winter, however we were amazed at how beautiful the water, surf and experience was. The instructors were professional, informative and FUN! Shoutout Croft & Ned. The equipment was in great condition too. Highly recommend Merrick’s Noosa Learn to Surf! You won’t be disappointed, even in winter or if you are a beginner.
