The trip was amazing and we did our trip in Aug 2022 so this review is long overdue. Our tour was nearly a year ago with Lena and Paul. They were amazing with all the stories and helping taking pics during the hike! They also had recommendations for us for hikes in the area! Totally recommend this tour and definitely ask to hear about Romeo the wolf’s story!

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had in Alaska! Our guide Bryce was knowledgable, funny, outgoing, and really cared about our comfort and safety. He picked us up from the cruise ship dock and during our ride to the lake he narrated all the fun and interesting facts about Juneau, including pointing out all the bald eagles he saw on the way. When we arrived at the lake, he geared us up with waterproof jackets, gloves, pants, and boots, along with a bag of snacks and a water bottle. Then, bag and paddle in hand, we walked to the shore for a safety briefing (following which, I felt I could trust Bryce with my life). We then paddled to sites on the lake, including the waterfall and, of course, the glacier. On the way we saw bald eagles, a Harbor Seal, and even got to hold a chunk of glacier ice that was floating in the lake (that Bryce fished out for us). Bryce told us interesting facts (and jokes) the entire way. This was truly the BEST way to see Mendenhall Glacier, because the poor thing has retreated so far that you can only see the smallest sliver of it from the visitor's center or the waterfall. After we went back to home base Bryce made us all hot cider and cocoa, and then drove us back to downtown Juneau. A note about the paddling: look, I am a sedentary creature. We joke that I was probably a barnacle in my past life. So I was worried about my arms falling off from all the rowing but it wasn't bad at all! We rowed for maybe 5 min at a time and then would take a break to rest our arms and to take pics.

This excursion was amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who is able to go. Alec & Boots were fantastic guides, each had their area of expertise and we learned so much about the glacier as well as the plants and wildlife in the area. Great guys, hard workers and very patient. Overall, a 5-star experience

This was our favorite tour from our entire trip to Alaska, Our group of four had the most amazing day together. Bryce was our guide and helped us have the BEST experience. He kept us safe and traveling in the right direction and taught us so much! Iceburgs, the waterfall, the glacier and a seal were the highlights of the most amazing day. We had perfect weather and the perfect guide.

This tour is truly worth while. Seeing something so beautiful is one thing but when you have knowledgeable tour guides like we did in Boots & Ben, it just made the tour a truly amazing experience.

Being able to be up close to the Mendenhall Glacier was an amazing experience. Our guides Boots & Ben we simply the best @ what they do. They were both knowledgeable & willing to answer any questions that were asked of them. I was lucky to have experience this with many family members, some who were older & both Boots & Ben made it a comfortable experience for them. Can u tell, we truly loved it!!!

The entire tour was memorable! My only 2 disappointments was that Boots was not very interactive with us & the guy narrating would speak & point out certain places & we couldn't turn to look while we were rowing (inexperienced rowers!).

Bryce was a wonderful guide and never complained when 1 of the women didn’t paddle and another one only paddled intermittently. Bryce was a fun, knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide! Think this was my favorite excursion of all the excursions on this 11 day cruise. Byrce took us to the waterfall (amazing!!) and near to the glacier. We even picked up some glacier ice (temporarily). No worries if you aren't in tip top shape and are worried you can't do this. Others will pick up the slack. I'm 68, had rotator cuff surgery, hadn't paddled in 7 years and had no problem. Be aware of ALL your belongings as you change in and out of your clothes. They provide everything you need for the clothing/boots including a nice snack and water. Their life vests and clothing were top notch and the life vests even had cool pocket for your phone so you can whip it out quickly (just don't forget to retrieve it before you leave the trip ). And the paddles and canoes were in awesome shape. Can't say enough good about my experience and their team.

What a great way to see the glacier, up close and personal! Getting to walk around near the base was fantastic. Bryce and Miller did a great job of making everyone comfortable and prepared for the adventure. Their knowledge of the area and humor along the way made the trip feel like we were out with friends and not just another batch of clients. This is not for everyone, you actually have to paddle. I would highly recommend this trip.

Our guides, Bryce and Alec were a superteam combining energy, enthusiasm, competence, professionalism, and genuine depth of knowledge. Alec has a master's degree in environmental science (or something like) and gave legitimately expert, interesting commentary for 2 hours as we paddled across the lake . You won't get that in a helicopter. Bryce has great people skills, charisma and great stories - ask him about his bear-chasing cat. And all the while a consummate adventure athlete. In their words, the adventurer and the nerd but those are relative terms and both were adventurers. Liquid Alaska backed these two with great gear, providing quality clothing and equipment in whatever size was need. The service to and from our cruise was comfortable and enjoyable with more facts, figures and stories. Safety has clearly been taken care of and well planned already and was never a concern. The glacier trip was the highlight of the cruise for me and this is the way to see it.

We booked this tour last minute when our sea plane was cancelled. From the informative lady who sold us the tour to our guides, it was a great experience. The tour includes everything you need to stay warm and dry. Meara and Miller took great care of us and were very informative. I would recommend this tour over any other way to see the glacier. We were able to get very close!

David and Meara were fantastic tour guides for the Mendenhall Glacier Canoe/Hike Tour! They were both extremely knowledgeable and easy to spend half a day with. The canoeing is challenging, but the end result is so worth it. We paddled close to Nugget Falls, too! Once on land, we hiked around closer to the glacier. We were provided plenty of time on land to take pictures and enjoy the glacier and scenery. I would highly recommend this tour and the tour guides, David and Meara!

Incredible. One of the best trips we have ever been on. Bryce was extremely knowledgeable about the glacier and had all the certifications for safety. Bryce had a wonderful sense of homer evenly balanced with the expertise of a great guide. Highly recommend him.

Bryce was our guide as we did the lLake Mendenhall Glacier canoe tour. Beautiful day, which is rare..cool, sunny, with clear, clear views. Not only did we get close to the glacier and waterfalls, but we saw seals and eagles. Bryce was the ULTIMATE expert guide. He was smart, funny, personable, and very attentive to the six people in our boat. He told us natural history and folklore in telling us about the land, water, and mountains...all mixed with a great sense of humor.
