The staff was great and so was the food. The beaches were amazing and swimming was so fun. The plankton did not disappoint!

The caves really were not worth spending time to see them. Jelly fish everywhere,a few of us got stung. Maya bay was amazing, alot of people there. Was good day though, the guide was amazing.

Short version: Despite the promising reviews, my experience with Maya Bay Tours' Sunset trip was disappointing. The staff was rude, and the promised itinerary was not followed: we had only a single stop at peak time at Maya Bay. Long version: Despite reading glowing reviews, my personal experience with this trip was far from positive. I had booked a Sunset Cruise with Maya Bay Tours, but problems arose even before departure. As the sole participant in the Sunset cruise, I was informed that three others on board would be staying overnight, therefore they will send a longtail boat for my return journey. I expressed my concern, as one of the primary reasons for choosing this trip was to avoid long-tail boats, which had left me soaked on previous occasions. After some negotiation, they agreed to provide a larger boat. The itinerary included stops at the Viking Cave and Pileh bay, which unfortunately did not happen. No explanation was given for skipping these stops, and when we inquired, the guides attributed it to weather conditions but no substitute stop was made. When we pressed for clarification, the guides suddenly seemed to lose their English proficiency. The sole stop on this trip was Maya Bay, where we arrived at 16.00, contradicting their claim of arriving after others had left. ("As we arrive the day-trippers will be leaving and we will be left with our own paradise so you are free to explore whilst the sun goes down.") We have been told that we also need to leave as the park closes at 17.00, well before sunset. Expressing my dissatisfaction was met with disregard from the guides. From this point I was ignored, the guides selectively offered snorkels and fruits to others, and in the evening after getting a drink I was immediately urged to return with the other boat in an aggressive manner, without the courtesy of a polite request to finish the drink within a few minutes and then leave. During the return journey, the tour guide refused to engage with me, not even saying goodbye. Seeking validation, I consulted other agencies on Phi Phi. They confirmed that skipping all stops without substituting another ones was more then unusual. Maya Bay Tours' false advertising, coupled with outrageous customer service, sets a disappointing standard. If you're willing to pay a premium for partial and rude service, this company is for you. You have been warned.

It was very great experience. My wife and I enjoyed the trip. Snorkling and sun bath in Maya bay was really awesome. And I want the video which my wife and I jumped out the boat. Please send the video via email. My email address is [email protected]. Thank you.

This was by far the highlight of my trip in Ko Phi Phi/Phuket. We met at the tour shop at 3PM and left as a group to the pier. We took a smaller boat initially and transferred to the main boat. The boat was very clean and had 3 floors to it. I can't remember the tour guides name but he was very friendly and explained the tour very well. He stopped by a couple key spots and briefly mentioned the history. We stopped in 2 different bays, kayaked and snorkeled. If you have a GoPro, defintiely take it. You can get some beautiful shots. They also allowed us to jump off the 3rd floor of the boat. We got to see the beach where they filmed "The Beach" (although we could not go) but were able to swim on the other side. A home cooked dinner (fresh veggies and green curry) were cooked by several sweet ladies. They took very good care of us. As far as the plankton..I know it's supposed to be the highlight but for me it was not all that great. We also had a hard time seeing the plankton because a full moon was out. But don't let that stop you because I would go on this trip again and again.

The Maya Bay sleep aboard was a fantastic experience! The team on board the boat couldnt do enough for us. We made memories to last a lifetime with the views, the plankton snorkelling, the kayaking into the cove and sleeping under the stars. Would definitely recommend.

Wow what a treat! We loved our experience on the sleepaboard - our small group of six were feeling pretty smug when we got to ride over to the beach (not THE beach, but a smaller one close by) while the day-trippers had to head home. We were truly the only ones in the bay. Jojo, our host, came prepared with fun campfire riddles and drinking games, and when it was time to head back to the boat for the night, we were greeted with some yummy late-night BBQ. Drinks continued, and then we got to pass out on the top deck under the stars. Waking up with the sunrise and the view of the empty beach was glorious. Highly recommended, especially if you are looking for a fun alternative to the party scene.

We arrived and got a little boat from the pier to take us on a big boat. The boat itself was okay, it was very clean and was very big. You could help yourself to sprite, cola and water. We started off by kayaking and snorkelling around some of the lagoons (I’m not sure if there names). There was only 2 couples of our trip because apparently not many people are coming since the beach had closed. But this didn’t affect it in anyway. If anything the trip was more personalised. Back to the kayaking, we was allowed to go off by ourselves in our own little kayak and enjoy ourselves. It was fun, and nice to have a little bit of time to yourself. It was lovely. My boyfriend really enjoyed the snorkelling. Back to the boat, we went to Maya Bay to watch the sunset. We didn’t get off the boat but this didn’t affect it. It was absolutely beautiful to watch. And take lots of photos. Amazing!! After the sunset, we had some food and it was amazing. We went back for more! After tea, when it was dark we watched the crew catch squids. It was funny to watch. My boyfriend got involved and he caught his first one. He loved it. A guy that loves fishing caught his first squid, first time aswell. Think of how proud he felt. I tried but caught more people than I did squid. Everyone got involved, even the other couple on the boat and it was fun to watch and take part in. We all then got our life jackets on (wearing them like nappies) which was a lot better and got in the sea to look at the planktons. Just think pitch black getting into an ocean and you couldn’t have a light on. It was nerve wracking but as soon as you got your snorkel on and looked under the water. It was absolutely amazing. It was like glowing little fireflies under water as soon as you started kicking your legs. This was one of my favourite experiences of my whole 3 week holiday. It was just amazing!! I could do this again and again! After this. We got dried and changed and had a bucket of rum (complimentary for everyone). We played some drinking games and it was nice for everyone to get involved. We also had some more delicious food, including the squids we caught. We later went on a little walk around the beach. It was nice. We then came back to the boat, the other couple got their mattresses and went to sleep. Me and my boyfriend went to catch more squids. And watch the stars. When we finally went to bed, we got our mattress, sleeping bag and pillow and just watched the stars. They say you don’t really have a decent sleep but everything else makes up for it. Well I had a fab sleep, I can sleep through anything. And the best part was waking up to a beautiful sunrise. We had some breakfast and coffee/ juice. The food throughout the whole trip was proper homely cooked. It was nice. I really enjoyed it and so did my boyfriend. Before we went back to the Pier, we went to monkey beach and did some more snorkelling. We only seen one monkey at the beach but some gorgeous fish when we went snorkelling. And then we went back to the pier. This experience was once in a lifetime. It was amazing. All the crew on the boat was so nice, kind and a right laugh. Me and my boyfriend both enjoyed ourselves. It wasn’t like a party boat, it was lovely. It’s personalised! I’d definitely recommend this trip over and over again.

I went on the Sleepover tour with Krabi Connect, and this was wonderful. It isn't a booze-fuelled Euro-trance experience like some other companies. What it offers instead is the opportunity to make friends with your fellow travellers, as you explore the beauty of the Phi Phi. There were no cockroaches, big or small. None at all. Both bathrooms were spotlessly clean. The meals are basic. If you want a good meal, eat at a restaurant on Tonsai. Swimming with plankton was magical, as were the sunset and sunrise. The kayaking and snorkelling was good, with the masks washed and sanitised, and very well maintained. The mattresses were gym mats, good enough for comfort, but these aren't hotel beds. What you get is the opportunity to lie down and look at the stars -- the entire sky is filled with stars! I would definitely go with them again. Thank you Jumbo and gang!

I visited Thailand last year, and I had scheduled a trip to Phi Phi island for two nights. During my time frame on Phi Phi I had booked this excursion. However, this is when the tropical storm hit at the very beginning of January. The day we were supposed to go to Phi Phi they cancelled all boats to the island. Subsequently they ended up evacuating the island as well. Even though all of this happened, I’m not able to be refunded for this excursion. I have been in contact with trip advisor and NOTHING. It was dubbed a cancellation, so I can’t get my money back. How disappointing! This was completely out of my control; there was a tropical storm happening! I would have loved to do this tour!

we left from Phi Phi island and this was the highlight of our entire Thailand trip! The boat is 3 levels, open space and big. Our group was small, about 14 people which was nice. My partner and I took our mats and went to the top of the boat were the view was amazing. They have kayaks and snorkeling equipment so that u can go near the beach and snorkel. The bay itself is BEAUTIFUL, the water is so clear. After snorkeling/kayaking/beach, They took us to the front of the bay so that we could see the sunset better but it was a bit cloudy since I went during rainy season. The food was cooked onboard and it was sooo good that a few of us had seconds. After we had dinner, the crew started fishing and we saw a few squids, a stingray, and a small (harmless) baby shark in the ocean. This all made me nervous to jump into the dark waters but I am so glad that I did. Witnessing the glowing plankton was such an amazing experience. the crew is supportive, experienced and funny. Because of the season, the waves were a little rough but the crew has Dramamine available which worked. I would highly recommend this specific excursion w this company.

Spent yesterday aboard Maya Bay Sunset and Plankton tour with my teenage daughter. The experience was unforgettable. Despite the varying ages and languages, we were all made to feel welcome by the excellent staff. You could as much (or as little) as you wished. We snorkeled, swam and kayaked before being served up some great Thai food. Highlights would definitely be watching the “nemos” and other tropical fish when snorkeling and swimming with the plankton after dark. I would highly recommend this tour for those who want to see this beautiful place from a unique perspective.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Sunset and Plankton night cruise. Kokhi and Jambo were brilliant and had so much knowledge of the area. They were fun and friendly and spoke good English. The tour including visiting Viking Caves, going to another bay (although I don't remember the name) and then on to Maya Bay. We had pineapple and water melon on board as well as a lovely chicken curry dinner. All soft drinks were included in the price with an extra charge for alcoholic drinks, although one bucket per guest was included. When we arrived at Maya Bay we got to kayak towards the rocks and then went snorkeling however watch out for SEA URCHINS! There were hundreds of them covering the rocks and my husband scraped his ankle/foot against one meaning that for the rest of the evening he was in a lot of pain and was unable to go back into the sea, missing the plankton! The sleep aboard tour and the sunset cruise tour start on the same boat and following the plankton everyone who is on the plankton tour transfer to another boat to go back to the town. This worked well and meant throughout the afternoon we were able to meet and talk to everyone! Overall this was a fantastic tour and we loved it! Although Maya Beach is closed to the public it didn't take away from the beauty of the bay.

This was the highlight of our trip to Phi Phi! Initially we were worried the experience wouldn't be the same with the beach now closed to tourists, but to my great surprise it was even better!! You can now see the beautiful white sand beach without crowds of tourists and loud ugly boats blocking the view. Swimming with plankton was something I'll never forget and my bf also hasn't stopped talking about it since we came back. I chose this company because they stay at maya bay longer than any other boat tour, so once all other boats leave, you have the place to yourself. But what made me most happy about my choice was the friendly staff. Such awesome people and I even saw them in town again before we left. Also met the owner on the boat and he was so chill. Definitely go with these guys!
