Our Skippers commentary was excellent, clear, engaging and very informative, loved the way some knowledge of geography makes the viewing of interesting rocks so much more . Milly our first mate ensured everyone was enjoying themselves , answered all our questions with a wealth of knowledge and served us a delicious fresh morning tea and lunch. It was a fun and her guided walk was thoroughly enjoyable.

We loved every minute of our time on this cruise, absolutely great value and super well organised and professional. Our skipper was as good at providing interesting facts and explanations as he was at managing the boat and Our experienced first mate Milly looked after us and took us on a great informative and easy walk around Darlington. The food was excellent and the company is very thoughtful about dietary requirements. A really great and memorable day out, thank you Maria Island tours!

They circumnavigate the island explaining the geologic wonders that you are seeing, and serve you lunch! What a deal! Also landed at Darlington for several hours to see the sights. We took the shuttle to and from Hobart. Holly gets a special shout out as our driver, drink and food server and super all around boat hand!! You Go Girl!

Other than a world class cruise to see mother nature’s glorious geology animals and birds, from pristine waters the guides Michael and Milly were just superb. Responsive to our collective fascination and wonder and serving our every physical need on a day I will remember all my life.

Our day was SO GOOD. Michael and Millie were so knowledgeable, friendly and professional. The weather was kind, the wildlife abundant, and memories of dolphins following the boat will stay with me forever.

We recently did a cruise around Maria Island with Maria Island Cruises! We had the best day! A highlight of our tassie trip most definitely. Everything about the trip was fantastic! The knowledge shared by skipper Michael was unbelievable! He is so passionate about the Island and it's nature & history! The catering was outstanding. Beautifully presented and tasty food not just your ordinary cruise lunch food! The staff Millie & Rachel were very helpful and obliging in every way. Would definitely recommend and will do this cruise again when in Tasmania next! 💯 %👌👌

I’ve been to Maria Island many times. Always had a great time. Never, however, done the circumnavigation cruise. It’s way above expectations. Not only the cruise itself but the knowledge of the crew and the top notch customer service. It’s worth every penny.

Wow! This one is not to be missed. We took our three teenagers on this cruise and it was thoroughly enjoyed by both parents and teens. Beautiful is an understatement and the crew was relaxed, friendly and made it such an easy, enjoyable day for us. Nothing is too much trouble and they are so passionate about the environment and its history. The tour came recommended by a friend and I will be passing the recommendation on to all I know. Geology, so many animals, history, scenery, great food, wine, yummy treats, pristine waters.

That was a fabulous trip and the whole experience from start to finish exceeded my expectations by miles. The crew was absolutely first class. Steve and Tamsin were friendly, helpful, and kept us well informed of history, geology, and wildlife. Lunch was included. An exceptional day on the water with Maria Island Cruise.

Everything was excellent, including the weather! Guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. Commentary was great. Went into sea caves and stopped to look at dolphins and seals. Guided walk on the island was very good - lots of wombats. Lunch was exceptional and there was a great variety of drinks available as needed. Highly recommended.

We enjoyed everything about the day, the beautiful scenery, morning tea, lunch and the interesting facts and history about Maria Island. The trip was very well organized from the time we departed until we arrived back. The crew of the Spirit of Maria was fabulous! They were so knowledgeable and accommodating to all the passengers needs.

A very safe and knowledgeable guide in Mike and Tamsyn assisting. They were super friendly, and we got to do a full lap of the island. We saw seals at the southern tip, had wonderful experiences in the sheltered bay for morning tea, talked geology of the island which was fascinating. We had the boat poked fully into a cave, and had a fantastic lunch and drinks near Darlington in another sheltered cove. Tamsyn then led us on an informative walk on the island through the settlement. We saw wombats, bandicoots and pademelons. Overall, we were on the boat for five hours, and the island for two. Such an excellent experience. There was a bit of a swell on the east of the island, but that was managed skilfully and safely by Mike. Thanks so much!

The circumnavigation was curtailed due to weather, but it was still a spectacular and entertaining day. Michael, Rachael, and Zoe did their utmost to make every guest feel personally attended to. The stories and information each imparted gave context; the water, cliffs, and wildlife all gave their very best. Triabunna is an excellent locale, enhanced by such a great experience.

A most fantastic day had by my husband & daughter. Unfortunately I was unwell & was unable to go along...however, I was granted a refund which was unexpected but most definitely appreciated. The day started very early but with excitement. Dolphin pods, seals and absolutely magnificent scenery. Amazing food and drinks. Wonderfully entertaining & inciteful informative dialogue all day. Cute wombats and interesting history of Maria Island. All round, one of the best tours my family did while staying in Hobart. Staff & crew were amazing. Thank you for showing my family a wonderful snapshot of Southern Tasmania.

A small and intimate cruise. Lunch was provided the staff and skipper were amazing and could not do enough for you to make you comfortable and safe. Lunch was delicious. The views from the boat and wildlife during the guided walk on the island was fantastic.

Fantastic, a real must do if visiting the area. The knowledge and experience of this Island from the crew was so informative, Mike and crew made a windy hot day seem unnoticeable and the food was A1. Highly recommend.

This cruise was one of the highlights of my trip to Tasmania. I enjoyed every minute of it, from the smooth sailing to the stunning views. The crew was very attentive and knowledgeable, thank you Rachel, Millie, and Mike. I would suggest sitting on the top deck for the complete experience, may get a little wet but well worth it. The island was a paradise for wildlife lovers, and I got to see so many adorable animals up close. The lunch was fresh and tasty, and the walk was fun and informative. I learned so much about the island’s rich and diverse history. It was a fantastic day out that I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tasmania. My 3 friends and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We were so impressed by the captain and crew (Steve, Zoe & Rachel) All were incredibly professional, polite, attentive and helpful. We really appreciated the experience of the captain and the commentary throughout the day. We also really enjoyed our lunch and cold beverages on board. We couldn't rate this day any higher.
