Great tour! Our guide really knew his history and we left really inspired and happy! We will recommend Richard Nahem to anyone we know who visits Paris.

I am so happy to write this review for Richard. i took my book club to France and spent 3 nights in Paris. i worked via email with Richard to coordinate our touring. He arranged guides for the Louvre and assisted with the tickets, and he himself did a tour of the Marais covering the history, Jewish history and showed us all his local haunts. Being in his neighborhood was such a wonderful experience. The Marais is such a special part of Paris, you can go again and again and find wonderful treasures, make friends, and have amazing food! Thank you Richard. I look forward to sending my clients to have you give them the same wonderful experience.

We wanted to make the most of our precious few days in Paris. A friend, who lives part-time in Paris, recommended Richard as a tour guide. We took his advice and we are so glad we did. Richard's warm personal style put us at ease immediately. In only a few hours, we covered not only the historical spots throughout the Marais, but also the quirky little gems usually known only to insiders. In the following days, we found ourselves returning to the pastry shops, the tea salons, and delis greeted not just as customers, but as friends. Our time with Richard really added to our experience and we recommend him highly.

Richard was self centered, more interested in pushing his own agenda. Learned so little about the area. We could’ve looked in the windows ourselves.

Richard was an excellent guide for my daughter and I. Our flight landed in Paris in the morning, we had time to get situated and take a quick nap at our Marais apartment, and then met Richard for an afternoon Marais tour. It was the perfect way to kick off our trip, get some fresh air and learn more about the neighborhood where we were staying. Richard is very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, funny and candid. He made an effort to connect with my teen, showing her places he thought she might like to shop (and was right!) As others have mentioned, the only problem was he gave us so many great ideas of where to shop, eat and visit - it was impossible to get back to everything we wanted to do! But I took photos and made lists, and have them all to refer to for the next trip - when we’ll be sure to book Richard for more tours!

Very nice gentleman guide but was more interested in food than the history - eating isn’t my thing!!

We had a great time with Richard and really appreciated him showing us around his neighborhood. He provided many recommendations on places to visit and shop in the Marais. One recommendation would be to tour with Richard early in your trip-we didn't have enough time to do all of the things he suggested, and have our list already started for our next Paris trip! Richard gave us a nice insiders view, and we highly recommend touring with him!

Richard at Eye Prefer Paris was a terrific tour guide. Not only did we walk and talk about Parisian food (cheese, pastries, chocolate, etc.) in the Le Marais neighborhood, we sampled treats, looked at architecture, discussed culture, etc. We really enjoyed our tour and highly recommend!

We had the most incredible experience in Paris thanks to Richard. Despite being in Paris for only one day and needing to see a lot in a short time, he made sure we experienced the best of the city. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the city's history and landmarks but also incredibly flexible, catering to the interests of our family, which included teenage boys who weren't typical tourists. His ability to engage the boys and make the tour exciting and informative for everyone was truly impressive. We learned so much and had a fantastic time exploring Paris with him. If you're looking for a tour guide who is not only knowledgeable but also able to adapt to the needs of your group, especially if you have teenagers, I highly recommend booking a tour here. He made our trip to Paris truly memorable, and we can't thank him enough.

My sister and I and my daughter and her friend did a tour with Richard and it was fabulous. It was exactly what we wanted - lots of interesting stories and fun facts. He was so easy to work with flexible and understanding. He is so interesting and made the tour just a great experience.

This was my third tour with Richard and it was just as amazing as I knew it would be. Our last tour together was so fantastic that I could not wait to return to Paris and spend another day with Richard. Richard and I have kept in touch, and I told him I was coming to Paris in January and I asked if we could arrange a custom tour. He immediately suggested a surprise fashion exhibit (he knows I love fashion) and I asked if we could visit Museé Carnavalet also spend some time walking around the Marias (to eat lunch and do some shopping) . We started with Richards’s surprise which was the : RETROSPECTIVE OF FASHION DESIGNER IRIS VAN HERPEN AT THE MUSÉE DES ARTS DÉCORATIFS. Oh wow!! Was this exhibit incredible !!! I was blown away by the fashion, amd also how beautifully the exhibit was curated. I loved it. And I never would have known about this exhibit if it wasn’t for Richard taking me there. We spent time admiring all of the fabulous fashion and the gorgeous exhibit. We then walked to Palais Royale and window shopped at the exclusive boutiques there, stoping for a coffee at a new coffee shop which was really quaint and adorable. Next we took on the Musée Carnavalet. This is huge museum decorated to the history of France. There is so much to see… you can’t possibly do it in one visit, but Richard and I managed to see a lot. He really helped me understand the history of the items in the museum, and also the rooms (some of which were literally transferred into the museum). He explained so much to me which really helped me appreciate the museum. If I had visited the museum alone I would have missed out on so much Information and history. Richard really does know so much! This was a great museum to see with Richard—he added so much. Lastly, we walked to the Pletzl (the Jewish area), where we had lunch at the famous L’as Du Falafel and then we visited a very old, secret, hidden synagogue that you can’t find or enter on your own. This was a special treat. We finished our day with some shopping and wandering around the windy streets on the Marais. All in all, it was a fabulous tour filled with fashion, French history, great food, cool shopping, and a visit to a secret synagogue. I can’t wait to return to Paris and spend another day with Richard. It’s always one of the absolute highlights of my trip!!! If you are coming to Paris, definitely book a tour with Richard. It will be your best day!! Thank you Richard as always!!!

Even though I have been to Paris several times, taking a tour of the Marias with Richard was absolutely delightful! His knowledge of Paris, the culture and local insight was superb. Upon meeting him, I was immediately at ease and comfortable and after just a few minutes it felt like spending the afternoon, strolling through the Marais with a very knowledgeable and witty friend. The duration of the tour was the perfect amount of time and very relaxed, but he was great at blending historical facts, pointing out restaurants, architecture, and other places to visit, while keeping the conversation fun and interesting. He was very intuitive, and we popped into several clothing stores that suited my style (which was impressive). It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon! I HIGHLY recommend him as a personal tour guide!

Richard was incredibly knowledgeable on all things PARIS! He took us on a Jewish history tour through the Marais and showed us some insider secrets in the area that we would have never found ourselves. Such a special day. I cannot wait to be back for another tour!

Richard was an amazing tour for me and my daughter. We were able to walk around Le Marais with a Local, eating a neighborhood bakery, learning about the local architecture. It as amazing, and we would love to go on another tour with Richard when we come back!

Richard was a total delight. He offered the perfect blend of food, geography, culture, architecture, history, and a little humor to offer a well-balanced tour. He is totally flexible and tailored his tour to our interests. Even though we’d spent a lot of time in Le Marais on previous trips, he showed us many new sites and told us history that made the area come alive. We’ve had guides who over-shared or under-shared their personal experiences. Richard’s balance was perfect. And we’ve had guides who asked us nothing about ourselves. Again, Richard got to know us just the right amount. He is a wealth of information and told us about art shows, restaurants, food purveyors and obscure events that we wouldn’t have found on our own. And he has a fantastic newsletter. Our entire trip was so much better after just a half day with him.

Excellent personalized tour by friendly and funny guide who has been living in Paris forever. Loved the quirky historical references to the places we visited and also the route and stops. I highly recommend to anyone looking for an animated and interesting tour of my favorite neighborhood in Paris.

Richard's tour of Le Marais was most informative and enjoyable. Many of the restaurants and shops that he pointed out were ones that we later visited during our week in Paris. I cannot recommend doing the Local tour of Marais with Richard.... he actually curated it to suit my needs which changed at last minute - so not only did I experience his incredible LOCAL knowledge, insights which you would never get even on another 'walking tour as they're not normally done by locals"... but his professionalism, flexibility & personalisation & accommodating attitude & personality made this one of the best tours I have done in a very long time (& I am a very regular traveller). He had 'secret little places to pop into which hardly anyone would have known existed' & his research & information was completely up to date ... vs other tours which almost cite details straight from google. I had such an incredible experience which was theeee best value for money that I booked another tour with him during my Paris stay. I can't wait to get back to Paris again to do the next chapter with him! H SYDNEY

My wife and I had a pastry and architectural tour of the Marais. Richard showed us the best pastry spots along with a history of the area. We covered a lot of ground but it wasn't overwhelming. Richard is knowledgable and funny. I definitely recommend it for small groups.

This is the best tour in the marais! The guide, Richie, is so knowledgeable and fun to be with. He’s shown me the best cafes, restaurants, boutiques and cultural spots with stories and history. He’s a delightful and smart guide. I can’t wait to try another tour next visit to Paris!
