We had Charlie as our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight for us was stopping at the rocky beach in the fishing village and picking up a conch shell that we got to take back with us. It was cool to see the buildings, the marketplace, and the lighthouse. The complimentary conch fritters were delicious! We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the city of Freeport.

We absolutely loved this tour. Irene took us around the island introducing us not only to the Lucaya Marketplace and the beach but also to the culture of the island. Learning about the different areas of Grand Bahama Island, their government and history was exactly what we were looking for. And then to end the trip at Banana Bay with conch fritters was the best way to top it off. Definitely try the Guava Daquiri!

Our 3 generation party ranging from 81 to 23 years old all really enjoyed this tour. This included seeing and learning about several local villages, a 300 year old light house, and visiting a rocky beach strewn with shells left by conch fishermen (free souvenirs!). We also got a glimpse of how the wealthiest 1% live, primarily celebrities with vacation homes. We learned of past and present primary industries and economic drivers in the Bahamas. Tourism is actually relatively new. We ate conch fritters and had delicious tropical drinks. We enjoyed a short stop at beautiful Taino Beach. We passed on getting the fresh conch salad there, but I suggest others eat a light breakfast in order to enjoy that local specialty. There were 4-5 stops where we got out and looked around, and most had restrooms that were clean. Charlie, our tour guide, was wonderful and answered all our questions. He's been doing this for more than 35 years, so there's no stumping him! The only slight constructive criticism would be to skip the straw market near the end of the tour since we'd already been to another souvenir market earlier on the tour. Kudos to Charlie though for helping the local economies around the island. The vendors are chill; no pressure about sales as experienced in other places in the Caribbean. This is a 2 thumbs up and 5 star tour, and a great value for the price. I recommend it without any hesitation.

Charlie was fantastic! He orchestrated a wonderful day for the five of us on his tour. We saw several diverse sections of the Freeport area with ample time to experience the local culture, indulge in delicious Bahamian food and beverages, relax and have lunch at an exquisite. secluded beach away from the tourist areas, while allowing time on the way back to the Margaritaville ship for a stop at the Sands Brewery and Shop at our request. Charlie is a great guide.... friendly, fun and informative! Don't hesitate to reserve this tour, it is a great way to enjoy your visit to Freeport.

Denise, our driver and tour guide, provided a fascinating and informative trip in an air conditioned van. She had a problem with the microphone system, but her voice was loud enough to hear. We went to many areas, and saw all facets of the communities and life beyond the tourist and city areas. Stopped at a beach, farmer's market where we had some delicious conch/lobster fritters, and even a liquor store by request of another passenger. This is the tour if you want to know all about Freeport.

My husband, sister and I thoroughly enjoyed Lynette Gray's tour. She shared so much island history and sights. We highly recommend Mamma Gal's Native Experience. Great excursion in limited time constraints! Thanks, Lynette!!

Bradshaw gave us an amazing informative tour of the island. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We saw all aspects of the island and learned about the natives. He recommended the Bell Channel Inn for lunch. The authentic food was delicious.

We were nearly an hour late in leaving waiting for a person who never showed up. This made us late in getting back to the ship for one of our planned activities. The van was less than new. Shock absorbers were non-existent. Clean but not new. A/C worked the microphone did not making it difficult to hear. Our guide was very informative and courteous. The places we went were interesting and we did see what there was of Freeport which is not much. Our group was fun.

My family recently went on a tour organized by Mamma Gal, and I feel compelled to share my overwhelmingly positive experience. From the beginning until the end, Denise was an exceptional tour guide. She went above and beyond my expectations, making it a truly memorable and enjoyable adventure. Her attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the tour.

Bradshaw gave us a wonderful tour around the island. He answered all the questions we asked with nuance, humor, and detail. We enjoyed being able to see beyond the typical tourist paths and learning more about island culture. Conch fritters were not our cup of tea, but it was still neat to try them! Ride was comfortable and he graciously agreed to photos when we asked. Thanks for a great time!

George was an excellent tour guide and driver for the day. He was very knowledgeable in every aspect of the trip and made the tour even better than expected. We greatly enjoyed the flexibility to stop at each spot at have free time to explore before returning to the van. It made for a great day.

Mr. Charlie is an excellent guide, we thoroughly enjoyed the history of the island, it was unfortunate that he tried to talk to us, the extra person just wouldn't let him explain everything, so we made the most of it. I would say that souvenirs are very expensive around the island be prepared and not surprised.

Great day touring Freeport. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the island as she was born and has lived there for many years. She took us around the island (not just the tourist areas) to see how the Bahamian people live. She didn't rush us to move from spot to spot and we felt we had enough time at each place to shop, eat, etc. Would highly recommend this tour!

My cruise ship diverted us to Freeport due to Hurricane Phillippe. I booked this last minute excursion and it was awesome. Our tour guide Charlie was very attentive and knowledgeable. He showed us the island from a naive point of view and it was great. We took us to a private beach to e joy the water and local food and ended the tour at the Marketplace where we enjoyed the couch salad. Thanks for your patience and allowing us to share your amazing island at short notice. Valerie and Reuben Oct 7, 2023

Charley was super nice! We were on the Carnival Dream, and we have been to Freeport 1 other time, that time we also took a tour with Charley. We loved it and we were hoping too find him again, we had a great experience both times, he’s super nice, he will take you where ever you wanna go, and won’t just leave you, he will stay with you the whole time. He took us too a place where we can get free conch shells, literally on the ocean where you can just bend down and pick one up, we went shopping, we went too a pharmacy, and he gave us a tour of the whole island, the poor side the rich side, and the downtown side! He even took us to a private beach. He will answer anything you ask, he will take you wherever you wanna go, and if your have never been there before and don’t know where too go, he will take you too some great places, love him he even made me a necklace cause he new that he would see me again.❤️ Thank you so much charley, I will be back for sure! 100/10 would recommend Thanks again Charley for a great experience! | Love Jayden

Charlie was a wonderful tour guide. He was full of knowledge about the area and all on the Bahamas. He took the time to get to know us and had no problem answering questions no matter how random they were. It was a pleasure to spend out time exploring the area with him. In this experience we went to a fruit/souvenir market, stopped at Taino Beach (2 hr endeavor), and visited Port Lucaya Marketplace.

I got to speak with Charley before heading out on our tour with Denise. Both of them are so sweet and nice to talk to. We had a great tour and we were super lucky to be the only ones in the van, so we definitely got undivided attention. Denise was very informative about the island, the people, the natural herbal remedies...and she told us where to get the absolutely best conch fritters, fresh conch salad and frozen mango drink. I can't thank Denise enough for being such a stellar human being.
