Toni is a most knowledgeable and friendly guide. Gives lots of information and happy to supply details of restaurants etc. Very enjoyable.

Our guide Tony went above and beyond any expectations I may have had about this tour. I have been on many tours, I always take a tour when I am traveling to a new city, and I'm so lucky to have chosen this one. Tony is extremely knowledgeable about the city, the history, the gastronomical details - he dives down into the finer points of all of these topics. The "above and beyond" - besides being super informative, you can tell that he genuinely loves his job and helping people learn about Lyon. He is very personable and has a great sense of humor as well. It was as if we were walking the city with a friend. Tony inquired if any of us on the tour were traveling anywhere else during our vacation. I mentioned I would be going to Marseille and then back to Paris. I also told Tony that I would not be able to remember everything he was telling us, he said no problem he would send a message with details on anything I would be interested in knowing. After the tour was over, I received a long email with information and recommendations regarding Lyon, Marseille, and Paris. Priceless! Toni was great. Friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. Lyon is his adopted city but he has learned a lot about its history and culture, which he shares in an interesting and frequently humorous way. It was genuinely a small group tour, which allows for plenty of questions by participants. Excellent! Highly recommended!

We had a great time exploring Lyon with Toni. His style was very friendly, factual and entertaining. We covered a lot on foot and learned a lot of interesting things about the history of Lyon. We would have not made the same impression of the city without Toni. We got to love it, thanks to this tour. He also provided lots of info on dining, sightseeing after the tour so our day was full and very pleasant.

Maud reached out with specific instructions on where to meet the group. Toni, Maud’s husband was exactly where she told us to meet and was very engaging. He was aware the weather wasn’t ideal; cold, rained and hailed, with lots of wind gusts as well, so kept us moving under covered areas as much as possible. He was very knowledgeable and made sure to interact with us personally so he could provide us with recommendations for restaurants, sights, venues and museums as needed. When he learned my daughter had recently moved to the area, he offered to assist her in any way possible. Truly Toni went above and beyond.

Toni was an excellent tour guide. Friendly and very knowledgeable about the city. He brought personal stories to the tour to make it feel more like a visit with a friend. He spent time with each participant to give the tour a personal touch. He obviously loves Lyon!

Toni provided a perfect overview of Lyon’s history while showing us historic sites, traboules, and wonderful views of the Roman amphitheater and the basilica. He also told interesting stories, including many from his wife’s grandparents, who lived in Lyon during the resistance. The tour was a great introduction to the city, followed by Toni’s recommendations of restaurants.

Whatever you do, go on this tour within your first 24 hours in Lyon! Toni is fabulous, charismatic and extremely knowledgeable. Group size at 10 is perfect. He is a true fan of the history of the city
