What an amazing day. We were bumped up to VIP tour, which could have been a disaster as my girlfriend & I like to blend into a group 😂. We were so wrong Mohammed immediately put us at ease. He strikes the balance between great guide & great host. His knowledge of Egyptian history is delivered with fantastic ease & humour. He brings the stories of old to life. The tour itself is brilliant & allowed us to see everything we wanted at our own pace. Our driver (so sorry cannot remember his name) was brilliant. Navigating the busy roads & long journey with ease. The little trip on the Nile was great & Mohammed’s recommendation to do a mile cruise is now on our travel list. The restaurant we had for lunch was the best we had our whole journey. We were treated to the most delicious authentic Egyptian food. If you are doing any tour, please use Mohammed, we can’t thank him enough!!

Enjoyed our day in Luxor. Booked the small group no shopping trip. Turned out that no other party joined so in fact we had a private tour. Minivan, two drivers and our guide Mohammed just for the four of us. As a private tour the day was very efficiënt. After a fun and interesting visit to Karnak our driver was waiting when we walked out and in 10 minutes or so we were on a boat to the west bank. Authentic Egyptian lunch was a highlight and our young teens loved it. For the kids this was a first dive into Egyptian history and they really enjoyed the day. Why this tour? As it is (semi)private you do not waste any time. You leave later than most tours and we were even back at our Hurghada hotel with time to spare for dinner. Plus we got to avoid the Alabaster and Papyrhus shopping which for us is dodging the Pharaohs’ curse. Thanks again Mohammed.

This my second time booking with Mohammed for the luxor trip, as brilliant as always. This is a private tour with max group of 8, however we got lucky due to no bookings on the day and was fully private. I would highly recommend to book with Mohammed, as he is very professional and courteuos and is very knowledagble as an egyptologist. If you come to hurghada and want to experience history of Egypt, book this tour and pay the money. IT IS WORTH IT!

Having booked with the same company for the hurghada to cairo trip we felt comfortable in rebooking the hurghada to luxor trip. The itinerary itself was as expected. However the stop at the Alabaster factory really did spoil our trip. Having already visited the perfume shop and papyrus shop we felt prepared for the alabaster shop visit understanding of the fact it is a tourist trap. My partner said he would still like to participate in the shopping aspect of the tour. What we weren't expecting was the level of aggression directed towards us at the reluctance to participate in a sale. Disappointingly our tour guide seemed more concerned with prioritising a sale as opposed to our wellbeing. The whole experience was quite shocking and really left a bitter taste for the remainder of the day. I don’t think aggression of any kind should be accepted as part of any tour stop and the wellbeing of tour participants really needs to be of the upmost priority - I hope nobody else is subjected to this in the same way we were.

I recommend the tour with Mohammed. I read many reviews and searched a lot beforehand, bearing in mind that it is a long road, with many objectives, it can quickly become more tiring than pleasant. And yes, this tour is totally worth it, the organization is perfect, with an incredible driver taking into account the traffic, we left and arrived back as scheduled. Enough breaks to enjoy everything, very fun Nile cruise and an authentic launch place. In addition, Mohammed is a dedicated guide, with a lot of knowledge and a sense of humor to appreciate. Thanks for the experience!

Mohammed was the best tour guide for Luxor! We chose the private tour with no shopping option and he respected this! We don’t enjoy shopping so we were able to spend more time sight seeing. Mohammed was so knowledgable and very friendly! Made us feel very comfortable! Definitely book this tour!

We took a fantastic private day trip with our guide Momen and driver Mohamed from Hurghada to Luxor, but before going into all the great details I want to cover some of the context before we booked this trip and the not-so-great aspects we dealt with (good news: none of this applies to YourTourGuide!) When reading about trips you'll often find issues (I'll add annotate the issues with minus and our experiences with pluses): - Tourist-traps: a lot of tours will take you to places that will do a hard-sell and try to rip you off, because the guide gets a kick-back for bringing in easy marks. Obviously this isn't nice, but in some ways it's a get-what-you-pay-for deal; some trips are cheaper than others and the cheap ones are subsidized by getting access to your wallet in this way. We consider this dishonest, but most of all we consider it a waste of time, and time is really at a premium in a day trip that starts at 5am! Personally I think it's worth paying a little more for a decent honest guiding service - and it really isn't much extra, $30 maybe, for that extra time. Mohammed from YourTourGuide listened to us, understood that we didn't want any of that time-wasting , and did a brilliant job of booking us an itinerary. - Disinterested guide: I get it, even these amazing sights get boring after a while, and the guide has got new tours to book in the coming days/weeks so it makes some sense to use that time to be on the phone booking in new guests. + Momen was present with us all the time we were with him, he's obviously fascinated by the history and revels in communicating and describing this lost world to guests. As someone who fulfilled his childhood dream to study Egyptology and later worked on dig sites as a volunteer he has a huge well of enthusiasm for this topic and it's wonderful to be able to benefit from this! - Inflexibility and arriving at peak times: with the big group tours you're at the mercy not only of where most people want to go, but also the timetable that accommodates other guests wasting time (I know this is subjective!) on things you're not interested in, or getting lost, or whatever people end up doing that drains time out of your day. The companies have to allow time for that stuff so they are constrained in building a timetable which ultimately means a limited set of destinations. + Mohammed and Momen were really flexible - they took into account the things we wanted to see and what we didn't. Because we were on a private tour it was only us making those decisions. This meant we were able to see more, spend more time at the places we found most interesting, and visit extra tombs that are not included on the ticket price. Speaking of extra tombs, we paid for all of the entry tickets as part of the tour price, and then paid at the counter for extras both at the Valley of the Kings (extras: Ramesses V & VI, Seti I) and at Valley of the Queens (extra: Queen Nefertari). This was all really transparent - the prices are all up on the boards at the counter and we were ready with our choices after reading up on a few websites listing the various tombs. At each location Momen enthusiastically provided detail on what we were about to see, and in the non-tomb locations was able to come along and give detail as we wandered around in awe of these ancient constructions and decorations, giving us translations, stories, and perspective on what we saw around us. In summary then: YourTourGuide and Momen come strongly recommended from our day with them. They're honest, enthusiastic and knowledgeable - everything you could want in a tour guide!

When I first saw that most reviews are just all 5/5, I was a bit sceptical... Boy, now I understand why they have so many stars. 1) the communication with the team was super (via whatsapp mostly). Very fast reaction, perfect English, patient and honest! I liked this very, very much! 2) we got an experienced guide, Mo'men. The guy is amazing. He goes really the extra mile. Everything is open for you to change or do something else. He also knows his stuff. He's very openminded and explains everything perfectly. 3) our chauffeur and taxi were on perfect standard! Driving in Egypt is not that easy, so a shout-out to our taxi driver. 4) The price was good money for value. I don't think you get better elsewhere. When you visit Egypt, I would really really recommend to have a private guide , and with this company you will get a very good experience.

We did not queue for tickets, attractions or food once thoughtout the day it seemed everytime we finished at an attraction and were leaving all the large tourist buses were turning up Mohammed's knowledge and friendly guidance throughout the day was exceptional giving a good balance of guidance and free time for us to wonder round on our own Thank you very much Mohammed 😁😁 one very grateful family

We booked this tour as two families of four and traveled from Hurghada to Luxor in July 2023. The tour was professionally organised with good communication throughout. I booked this tour as I have been to Valley of the Kings before and was keen to arrive in the morning before the heat of the day and the crowds before moving onto Karnak in the afternoon. Mohammed was happy to accommodate this request, which meant that both sites were almost empty as the other tour parties follow the opposite itinerary and I would recommend doing the tour this way round as a result. Mohammed is an excellent guide. He knows when to provide information and when to leave you to explore on your own. He gave enough detail to interest the adults without boring the teenagers, which is quite a skill. We have done lots of tours around the world and this was one of the best.

After our trip to Cairo with YourTourGuide we decided to book our daytrip to Luxor with them again, based on our prior experience the week before. And it did not disappoint. We started off the day being picked up in the same mini van as our trip to Cairo. We were accompanied by Mister Mohammed this time around. Again I can't thank them enough for showing us a great time (again). Mohammed was very knowledgeable and professional, and made us feel welcome and explained everything very well. What I liked is that everything was clear and communicated upfront. The tour itself was fantastic, taking us to all the highlights of Luxor and with enough time to see everything. Again we were traveling with small children and that was handled very well by the drivers and mister Mohammed. Big thank you again to YourTourGuide for giving me and my family un unforgettable experience. Just like the Cairo tour I would highly recommend them and the tours they offer.

Thanks a lot for the unforgettable day Mohammed!

Brilliantly organised from start to finish, all ran like clockwork, knowledgeable and friendly guide and transport staff. We had a brilliant time on our trip to Luxor a truly unforgettable experience for our honeymoon just brilliant, we were picked up from our hotel in a lovely air Conditioned vehicle with enough room for us to stretch out and snooze on the long journey. Our guide Mohammed was fantastic he told us everything we could need to know and more both during the journey and whilst at the sites getting us passed queues quickly and with ease. We visited and experienced everything you could want to in Luxor including a trip on the Nile and lunch at a lovely authentic Egyptian restaurant. Excellent communication for our trips both before leaving home and once we arrived, can't recommend them enough.

We booked a private tour on the 18th of February 2023 with my wife and 6 year old son as we read wonderful reviews here. We were looking for either a private or small group tour to avoid the compulsory store visits that are often included in the usual big group tours and be more flexible. So, here is how it goes: - reservation: super simple and fast via the website and/or Whatsapp. Mohammed is very responsive. - for Luxor, you will be picked up from your hotel at around 5AM in a very recent minibus (we had aToyota Hiace with 40 000 km) so there is plenty of space for you and your stuff :) - coming with you will be 2 drivers that will replay each other (even though the trip isn't that long, you will see the driving requires some concentration) and your guide, Mohammed. - As you're being picked up, Mohammed will just explain to you briefly the road to get to Luxor and then you can get to sleep. The road will take you to Safaga, then through the desert (big double lane road) - quick stop around 7AM to eat/use restroom - then to Qena and finally to Luxor. You should arrive there around 9AM. - in our case we started with Karnak temples. Mohammed will be with you to take care of the tickets and of course the explanations. Besides the historic facts, lots of fun facts - so it is not just a boring tour. Mohammed has a great sense of humour :) Once you reach the sacred lake, you ll have the time you need (30 min more than enough) to stroll around and take pics. You wil notice Mohammed sort of knows anyone and you won't be bothered too much by salespeople. - back to the minibus to cross the Nile by boat and see the city from the water. Once on the other side, it is time to eat at a local restaurant. Of course many tourists come there but food was really good ! Lunch included, drinks extra, 2eur/usd per bottle which is very fair. Free toilets on the spot. - back to the bus to go to the Valley of the Kings before the rushour. The basic ticket includes 3 tombs you can choose from the 9 open (at the time). Mohammed can advise you - in our case, I had checked before and he had the exact same recommendations. So he knows his stuff :) NB: you can buy extra tickets to visit 3 others tombs: Seti I (1000EGP), Tutankhamun (300EGP) and Ramses V and VI (100 EGP). You can pay by credit car or EGP cash there. My advise is to definitely visit the tomb of Ramses 5 and 6, 100 EGP for it is a bargain as it's the most beautiful we've seen. Tutankhamun is in our opinion sort of a ''scam'' because there isn't much to see (smallest tomb there) besides the body that is exposed there and still some nice decorations but you pay for the name mostly. If you have the budget, go for Seti 1er but it''s quite expensive. To get there he will buy the transfer tickets so you do not have to walk to the tombs from the entrance. The guide cannot come with you inside but he will give you some explanations outide and wait for you. - next stop is the mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut. Similar as before but you mostly visit it yourself after a few words at the entrance. - finally, you will start driving back with a quick stop by the Colossi of Memnon for a few pics. If there is anything you want to take a pic of around, you can ask for a stop, they ll gladly do so. But you will be tired by then already :) in our case, it was around 3.30PM. We reached our hotel in Hurghada by 7.30 PM with the same stop on the way back. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for. Spend time visiting the monuments, not shops as we had done it previously. The private tour is of course a little more expensive but it is definitely worth it - you ll be a lot more flexible, especially if you have a kid. Big thanks again to Mohammed for his guiding and the overall organisation that was basically perfect, and the 2 drives (sorry I forgot the names) for navigating us through the (sometimes) crazy Egyptian traffic safely :D

Wow we had an amazing day! We were met promptly at the agreed upon time in a clean, modern minicoach with our guide and took a 3 and half hour ish trip to Luxor. Paying a little extra for a small group meant we were ahead of the crowds and could control the pace of our day. Our guide & drivers was incredible & knowledgeable. We felt very safe. While we enjoyed seeing everything Luxor had to offer, it was the little extras that have made the day more memorable, we loved taking the short Nile River crossing and eating a traditional Egyptian lunch with our guide. Drinks were extra at 60le or 2eu each. We paid 300le (must be Egyptian currency) extra p.p. for Tutankhamuns tomb at the Valley of the Kings which we felt was worth it as it was extremely vibrant. Many thanks everyone for a memorable day!

After a very bad experience with a reputable tour company, Your Tour Guide was a breath of fresh air! The communication was great - so responsive at all times of the day and the tour was well organised. The tour guide, Muhammed, was amazing - so knowledgeable and available to answer our questions. Muhammed took us to the key spots and explained everything very well - he also gave us tips on how to navigate cultural aspects etc, got us into the toilets without needing to worry about anything etc. Our 2 drivers (Bilal and Tareq) were also great! Thank you and we cannot wait to return to Luxor - we plan to use Your Tour Guide for our tour to Cairo when we are next in Egypt!

We had a wonderful day in Luxor. Our guide Mohammed (not sure if I spelled his name correctly) gave us a extraordinary experience in this tour. He is patient, thoughtful and Knowledgeable, and with great sense of humor. Since we have a young kid (2.5 years old) with us in this tour, we had lots of worries when we book this tour, Mohammed was so patient to answer all our questions no matter how trivial it was. We booked a 8 persons small group tour but he was so kind to upgrade it to a private tour without any extra cost. We were so grateful since he think it is more convenient for us since we have a young kid with us. And it was absolutely true. He was so patient during the tour and gave us all the time we need to handle kids requirements. The tour is also very safe, there are 2 drivers in this tour and they made a nice shift to make sure the drive is safe. Our guide arranged everything so well that we don’t even need to take our brains with us. Everything was going very smoothly so we can finish our first whole day tour with our little one painlessly. Last but not the least, our guide explained everything very clear and with lots of fun. One more thing, Mohammed seems to know everyone in Luxor (joke), everyone is very friendly to us and no one come to nagging us for anything, this made the whole tour very comfortable. I can’t thank him enough to give us this wonderful tour and made Luxor our best experience in life!
