We visited Luxor in a 2 day-itinirary; East Bank the first day (Karnak and Luxor Temple) and the West Bank the second day. Both days we had Sherry as our guide and Samara as driver. We have seen A LOT of guides the last years (USA - Indonesia - Africa - Lapland - …) but this was truly one of our best experiences yet 🤩 Not only does Sherry know everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) about the visited sites; she also knows how to tell “the stories” as if we were children again and listened “in awe” to our favourite teacher … She went above and beyond for us … even discussing better prices at local shops because she had our best interest at heart ❤️ Samara (Ahmed ☺️) was a SUPER driver !! He drove us safely around Luxor (always on time !) and when the visits were finished; there he was … right at the exit with the car air-conditioned and cold water in his hand … We are BIG FANS of Sherry (and Samara) and recommend everybody to trust their (magical) skills ! Thank you for a magnificent time 🤩

The Dair al Madina and Vally of the Queens tours were fantastic. Tayeb is the perfect english speaking guide. Thanks for the amazing experience in the new opened tombs.

Had a great time during this tour, although a bit exhausting to see everything on a single day, was worth every penny. Our guide, Sherry was absolutely amazing, was very knowledgeable and informative altogether, provided detailed information, interesting historical facts about all the sites and places visited. Kept us nicely on a reasonable schedule, there was no rush at all, had time to take tons of pictures and embrace the atmosphere of every temple and monument. Took us to see how papyrus scrolls were and are made, an unexpected but welcome addition to the tour. Very satisfied with Sherry and the Magic Carpet Travel team, took great care of us, highly recommended.

Tour started in Luxor and also included Aswan and onto Abu Simbel for a total of 5 days. Rabi was Egyptologist guide, and Mahmoud was driver. Both were excellent. My family and I learned so much from Rabi, and Mahmoud was always reliable. Magic Carpet worked with us on what we wanted to see and then Rabi delivered making sure that everything we visited was unique. I can't say enough positive things about them.

We had fantastic days. Rabi, our Egyptologist tour guide, showed us all the special places in Luxor. We have already seen a lot of the world, but this was very impressive. Rabi told us the history in a great way and knew where to visit the sights at the right times when it was quieter. We felt safe every moment. Mohamed was our private driver. Highly recommended so you can see everything quickly. We will definitely book with Magic Carpet again next year!

Excellent tour with Rabie Egyptologist and Mohamed driver of Magic Carpet Travel in Luxor. Jan 2024 • Friends Trip was incredible! Had a great time learning about the fantastic ancient Egypt history and culture, and seeing the Valley of King, valley of Queen, the Karnak Temple, the Luxor Temple .We are shocked, can’t imagine how the ancient Egyptians 4000 years agin they could decorated the pyramids and temples with brightly painted sculptural reliefs and large frescoes or mythical animals. Rabie who was our tour guide was knowledgeable, fantastic and was diligent in making it an informative and enjoyable day. Would recommend. Actually Right now it is real safe to travel in Egypt. We are here two weeks run all over the country Aswan Luxor Hurghada Cairo Alexandra Port said and black white desert, along all the way every one is nice and friendly to the tours.

My wife and I had two fantastic days of tours with Egyptologist Ahmed Rabie and our driver Karam. They helped us see and learn about the Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, valley of the kings, Hatshepsut memorial temple and the tombs of the nobles. Plus Ahmed had plenty of knowledge about all these sites and gave excellent local restaurant recommendations. We felt super safe and comfortable the whole trip, and were in awe of the rich and fascinating history kept alive here in Luxor. 7/5 stars!

Magic Carpet Travel really knocked it out of the park on every level— we booked their services for a private car and guide for our first trip to Egypt. We used their services in Cairo/Giza/Saqqara/Dashur/Mephis and then in Luxor/ Aswan/ Abu Simbel. We were also on the Nour El Nil cruise in the middle of this 12 day trip. 7 days were organized by Magic Carpet Travel. Flawless pick up, communication, attentive service, excellent drivers and comfortable cars, and we feel they gave us reasonable prices having compared notes with some other travelers using other agencies. I’ve reviewed the first leg with Theresa which was terrific, and this is a review of the absolutely sensational guide Rania, who has two master degrees in hieroglyphics and Ancient Greek. Our visits to Luxor, Karnak, Hatshepsut Temple, Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and Habu Temple would not have been the same without the GENIUS guide Rania. Every description was riveting, we learned so much, and fell in love with each site. She is fluent in English, German, and Arabic, and maybe other languages— her depth of knowledge was impressive and immediately manifested when she spoke about any site or object. We could not have known what to look for without an Egyptologist pointing out all the major aspects of interest— from the hieroglyphs to the graffiti from historical times. Luxor is mind blowing, the size, the scale, the brilliance of the temples and tombs. I also want to note that it was extremely safe with multiple bag checks at every site and traffic checks on the road. We never felt unsafe, even walking in the streets alone at night to Luxor Museum and Mummification Museum. We also had a great time with our guide Sammy to Abu Simbel and our drivers in every location were superb drivers. Sammy and Rania both walk through all the things to look for with postcards/prints in advance so you can go inside the tombs and temples and know what to look for (guides are not often allowed inside the sites to help reduce wear/moisture/bacteria in the tombs). They were never late and drove really well. If you want to visit Egypt this is a great time. At peak season, Luxor temples attract 40,000+ people a day. I’ve uploaded some photos showing the crowds because many tourists from other countries (China/France/Italy/ Spain) were there in droves. I highly recommend going now. The whole trip was a dream! The entire day was one truly memorable experience, not only because of thewoners people can see but also because of our super professional and enthusiastic guide, Rania. Our guide Hamdy showed us the Karnak Temple and the Westbank. He is a top professional guide. Great knowledge of Egyptian history, combined with humor and a great general interest in " people". Never a dull moment Always attentive to the need of the family. From places of shade for Ma, to repeating the story when we did not listen well. We had a great tour of the Louxor West bank with Khaled, our guide which is a very good storyteller of Egyptian history, and Mohammed, our gentleman driver. Many thank to Magic Carpet and its team for the good moments spent in your land, guided tours but also the hot air baloons above kings valley. I highly recommand this agency and its hotel set next door to Louxor temple. Very pleasant stay!

Thanks to Khaled for this guided tour of the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and Habu temples, and the Medina, very complete in terms of explanations and content. Also very understandable and clear, even for us french people that struggle with English sometimes... I highly recommend the services of Magic carpet. We did 3 days of tours in Louxor with Magic Carpet and it was indeed magical, our guide Ghada explained us everything about the temples and tombs and was ready to answer any questions about the archeological sites, history and culture. It was amazing. Triply recommended

We schedule our tour very late, at 11:00 am and Ghada arrived very promptly to start our tour. She is very friendly and very knowledgeable. She answered every question we had, and even enlighten us on some subjects about Egyptian history we had wrong. I really enjoyed talking to her, it was as if we were vising a very closed friend and she was giving us a tour of her city. We visited the Luxor temple, the valley of the kings, the tomb of Hatshepsut, the Colossi of Memnon and Karnak temple. Ghada helped us schedule a Feluca ride along the Nile to enjoy the sunset, and even accompanied us, helped us with photos and highlighted the best places along the Nile. We asked her about the Hot Air Ballons, and she knew all about it. Thanks to her, my friend Jorge enjoyed his 1st hot air Ballon ride as she took care of all the logistics. I want to go back to Egypt to enjoy a cruise along the Nile, and definitely would get Ghada to help me on that tour too! If you really want to know what you are looking at when visiting the sights in Luxor, you definitely need to get Ghada, as she is very knowledgeable in Egyptian History!!!!!!!

I booked this travel 11PM just before the tour day. Tour starts at 6AM(Because I added Habu Temple)So, It has only 7 hours. But manager Ahmed Boghdady did his best, and finally I matched guide Ali and Driver Ahmed Al Asmar. They were so kind to me and did their best. Drive was really cool and smooth. Ali is professional. He is about 30 years Luxor guide. He is really popular in Luxor and he had many tips to travel Luxor. And he is good photographer also! If I asked take a picture to him, He took my picture so hard, and picture are so good. One thing is same. Everybody is smiling you.

Ghada Hagagi was my private tour guide, and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We did mowing trips to the West Bank Hatshepsut Temples and 3 Tombs at the Valley the Kings Rameses 3, 4 and 9. Also Karnak and Luxor Temples. She was very prompt and made the whole things easy, not to mention getting me a good deal on a horse and cart drive into town. She was also good with taking photos!. We spent a beautiful day with the English tour guide Tayeb in our private car for 2!!! We visited the valley of the kings and the queens then the Hatshepsut temple. Tayeb was really prepared and fun and guided us through the explaining all we had to know about the places we visited. He also recommended us the best kings tombs to visit. We also did a visit to a typical alabaster family workers. It was great!! I highly recommend 👌🏻you won’t regret!!

We had an excellent experience with Tayeb our guide who was very professional and kind, with our driver who was very professional too and the tour, we saw the main places in Luxor that really astonished us. We recommend this tour for sure!!!!

We booked a 2 day trip to Luxor with Magic Carpet Travel from the UK before we set off for Egypt for our family holiday. We had been impressed by the reviews the company received on TripAdvisor. Shaimaa was very helpful and responsive and put together a tour package for us, including the main Luxor sights and a sunrise balloon ride. We were collected from our hotel in Soma Bay for the 3.5 hour trip to Luxor by Ahmed (who was our driver for the entire first day of our trip). He was in a branded, clean, modern mini van and he had brought lots of cool water for us. He drove excellently. We all felt very safe (which is not assured by any means in Egypt!). Our Egyptologist for the 2 days was Hesham. He was brilliant. He had a lovely gentle and calm manner and he was hugely knowledgeable. He went out of his way to ensure our two young children were engaged, interested and stayed out of the direct sun as much as possible while he showed us things. We booked the Pavilion Winter Garden separately for the night, which was a great choice. It is a very short walk to Luxor Temple and has a lovely garden in the middle of the complex and a super pool (which our girls really enjoyed!} On Day 2 our sunrise balloon trip was cancelled, which was a huge shame. However, Magic Carpet Travel were excellent and immediately confirmed they would provide a refund (which they did). Our driver on Day 2 was also called Ahmed. He was also excellent! He went out of his way to ensure we had a good trip. For example, we observed that the hotels we had stayed in did not serve bananas (even though they are one of Egypt’s major crops) and he went and got us a bag before we left Luxor! He drove very safely as well. I would highly recommend both the Ahmeds as excellent drivers! Hesham was invaluable on Day 2 of our trip. In particular, he helped us to select the best tombs to visit in the Valley of the Kings (we saw 5, 2 of which we paid extra to see - Tutankhamun’s tomb ( - our children were ghoulishly fascinated by the mummy!) and Raamses V & VI (which contains two sarcophagi and is beautifully decorated). Hatsepsut’s Temple was also beautiful (and the stories Hesham told our children about her were very empowering for two young girls). He was also incredibly kind and quietly let us know what was a fair price when we were haggling with local traders outside the Valley of the Kings. Another great aspect of Magic Carpet Travel is the fact that every person who works there appreciates that tourists don’t want to be hassled all the time. We didn’t once get any attempt to sell us extra things or anything like that (which had otherwise been a constant irritant). In fact, quite the reverse, Hesham stopped us getting hassled by street vendors. We finished our trip with a lunch in the restaurant at the top of the Nefertiti Hotel (which is the hotel from which Magic Carpet operates). It was brilliant - the best food we have had in Egypt. The roof terrace was also lovely - it had a super view of Sphinx Avenue. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Magic Carpet Travel - they were all brilliant!

We took a 5 day tour of Luxor and Aswan. It was very well organised. Our guide Ahmed Aziz was very knowledgeable and helpful. He took care of the needs of our group and especially ensured that children enjoyed. He explained us the history of the different temples very well. Also our driver Mamdouh was very punctual and helpful all through our 5 day trip in Aswan and Luxor.
