This tour was pretty amazing. We were a little hesitant on the way to Egypt, but they planned everything mentioned on the website with great care. Thank you to Ms. Youmna who is always online for communication and planning. We would like to express our gratitude to our guide Mr Mansour and our driver Mr Mahmut, who was very careful and fast even in the traffic in Egypt.

Everything went well, from communication and booking prior to the trip to pick up at hotel; the drive to Luxor; our French and Dutch speaking guide in Luxor (Achmed); the visits. 100% recommended!

Easy to recommend! Marsa Alam Tours works with the kindest and most trustworthy professionals and gives you a tour that’s well worth the money. Driver Mohamed came with a car in great shape and managed to save a lot of time during the trip; guide Mansoor is knowledgeable, eliminates the need for a professional photographer, incredibly friendly, very fair, and doesn’t try to milk you for money. In fact, he even recommends not to pay the 1800 EGP for Tutankhamon’s grave at the Valley of Kings (he takes you to a much cheaper but almost equally beautiful one), helps you evade the bazaar sellers, and doesn’t manipulate the exchange rate when you pay by card. The optional extension with the Nile cruise and the banana island is more worth doing with a larger party (because it costs 30 USD/person for a couple), but it’s a fun experience, it gives you the freshest bananas you’ve ever had, as well as a great stroll through the banana plantation. The restaurant is nothing special – but safe and hygienic. At the alabaster factory, don’t forget to haggle. The people are very kind, the lemon juice is tasty and everything seems great at first, but they will come at you with an offer that blows your mind. Don’t feel ashamed for going way lower than that. The products themselves are of good quality.

I went on a day trip to Luxor in Feb-24 with Marsa Alam Tours. The booking was straight forward, easy and fast. The driver picked me up on time but the car broke down on the way to Luxor (some issue with the engine cooling). We had several stops on the road side before the car eventually gave up. Another taxi picked me up and took me to Luxor. Fortunately I had an Egyptian SIM to get in touch with Marsa Alam Tours but arrived over 1.5 hours late (I only had ca. 7 hours overall). The guide in Luxor was friendly, quick and helped me to get the most out of the remaining time. I saw other guides that day that were explaining more things but I tend to forget most of it anyway so for me it was fine the way it was. On the way back I had another car which felt like a noticeable upgrade and was a smooth return journey. I might have been simply unlucky with the first car but the offer I got from Marsa Alam was significantly cheaper than the other two offers I requested. So it could also be that I got service I paid for. In any case, it was a good experience and I would visit Luxor again.

Fantastic experience, Luxor is a must see destination and the Queen Hathesput temple is simply magnificent! The day trip was well organized with no problems, the drivers Mr. Badwy and Mr. Ahmed were excellent and the guide Ms. Safaa was also helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend this trip!

The tour of Luxor was excellent. The sights are well worth seeing and Ahmed the guide made it very special. He was knowledgeable and friendly and considered our interests and when the sites would be busiest. We were able to tailor our day as we liked, and added in the sailboat on the Nile after lunch, which was a relaxing and beautiful pause between the archaeological sites. The local lunch was delicious. The temple of Hatshepsut was my favourite with its sweeping views and intriguing story. A good tip is to ask the price of coffee or softdrinks before ordering, it can save you from paying too much. We would have given 5 stars if the quality of the vehicle for the transfer was higher. Highly recommend the trip! Very memorable.

Pros: Driver on time Cons: -Guide doesn't speak a basic English, we need make a great effort to understand what he said. - Guide doesn't know the history of the sightseeing, just the basic things that we can read in the signs or Google, any other basic question he don't have any idea. - Guide all the time rushing us and on the phone. He was more worry to run away and finish the tour as fast as he could. - Guide add "an extra tour" of 20 euros per person that was not clear but we paid of course. Terrible experience to cross the Nile by boat. Please be aware of that. In my opinion, it's really difficult to drive and do things by yourself in Egypt. So definitely recommend to book a tour and agency, but this one was the worse tour that I did in my life. Instead of buying the private to have a great experience I would prefer to buy the group one and make research by myself paying at least half of the price.

Me and my father-in-law had a lovely day visiting the ancient sites at Luxor. We got picked up at our hotel at 5 AM for what I consider a somewhat wild ride. I don't know if that's just the way everybody drives in Egypt, but our driver took it upon himself to get us to and from our destiny as fast as he could, with a broken headlight. We drove quite some hours in the dark, and not all streets have excellent lighting, so that didn't feel so safe. His driving felt a bit reckless as he passed by cars with just centimeters to spare. In Luxor we met up with our guide, who guided us through all the sites, and provided us with a lot of interesting information. Quite a knowledgable man with a lot of interesting facts to tell. I was just a little bit disappointed by his level of English. Being Dutch, we've opted for an English guide, as you have to pay an extra fee to get a Dutch guide, and there's no guarantee that his/her Dutch will be of an appropriate level. So I thought we would have more luck getting an English talking guide, to be able to fully understand everything. But unfortunately that was not the case. But all in all we've enjoyed our day, visiting the temple/ruins of Karnak, the valley of the Kings, the temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. It was great to see all these sites in real life. One last tip: if you want to pay for the entire trip with VISA, make sure to do it in front. As a tourist you don't have easy access to WIFI during the trip to pay the outstanding balance, and not every banking app provides VISA payment on your mobile phone.

The experience overall was excellent. Our guide, Ibrahim, was absolutely outstanding and his passion for the history of Luxor really came through on the entirety of the trip and really deserves the overall 5 star rating. We did have some issues with the pricing on the website for Marsa Alam Tours, where they state 300Le pp to visit the Tom of Tut, but the website tried to charge $30 per person to visit the tomb of Tut. At the Valley of the kings the cost is now 360LE pp which is what we paid pp in the end. I think they need to clear up this pricing on their website though. But they did resolve everything which was good of them

I booked a private one day trip excursion to Louxor from Marsa Alam with Tasneem. She was very quick to answer. We had both a driver and a guide for the day. The driver drove pretty fast and we had the chance to be 30 minutes early than most of guided tours for our first site seeing of the day : Karnak Temple. The temples and king valleys were incredible. Louxor is very touristic and a cash machine in a lot of places. For example be prepared to pay every time you want to go to the toilets for no less than 1€ per person….I would recommend to get some Egyptian currency avoiding having to pay such an amount just to go to the toilets. Our guide Hoda joined us in Louxor directly. She was kind enough to share with us her umbrella in the hot and shining day. Nonetheless, she just gave us a 5 minutes talk before entering the site area and waited for us sitting and talking with her friends outside of most of the buildings. It could have been better to get some informations and histories directly onsite. She also took us to very touristic places like essential oils shops and stone craving « factory » that were not mentioned on the tour planning. Last but not least we had lunch in a restaurant for tourists only. I bought a private trip in order to avoid the so called tourist trap, and thus, I am feeling a little bit disappointed by this trip that could have been better.

Excellent guided tour of !uxor from Soma Bay. Lovely drive across high desert and down to Luxor passing along edge of Qena. Interesting to see how rural Egyptians live Guide in Luxor was excellent and very informative. Good lunch included. Journey back was eventful with car struggling with 'dodgy fuel', but driver remained calm and we made it back to Soma Bay in good time. Driver did an excellent job, only issue regarding payment of outstanding balance An email to guide asking for payment to him in US dollars does not work. The company should have taken full online payment directly to guests. Problem sorted on return to hotel. Would I use the company again, a definite yes

Me and my son have great time on our tour from Hurgada to Luxor. Our driver Esmail was so kind and friendly, taking care about us during all day, bringing us water, ice cream... even bought us some suvenirs in Luxor. We felt perfectly safe and relaxed with him. He is great driver, taking care that we are on time on each agreed stop points. Our quide waited us in Luxor. He gave us lot of valuable information, tried to made all our wishes come truth, but later on we found out that same additional visits we added on the top of initialy planned and paid ones have been overpriced. So it is something to be take care of. Despite of it, the trip was perfect. Many regards from Croatia to our friend Esmail.

Firstly, after booking, on the night before our one day trip fro Hurghada to Luxor, my wife and I decided to see if we could include a balloon ride. On phoning Ahmed up, he explained that balloon rides only operated in the morning, we would therefore have to stay overnight in Luxor. He then spent a considerable amount of time tailoring our original trip to include a balloon ride. This meant that he had to find a hotel, and organise transport for our return to Hurghada. We were then picked up at 5am, followed by a nice relaxed trip through the mountains, the desert and through the fertile land as we drew closer to the Nile. It was clear that they had successfully harnessed the water of the Nile with irrigation canals. With the lush crops all around in abundance. Throughout the trip I was confident of the professionalism of the security forces, when we stopped off at a convenience stop in the desert, I noted snipers on the roof, excellent. Then the security of the various vehicle check points were great too. I thank the security forces for their excellent protection, deterrent. On arriving at Karnak Temple, the largest religious sight in the World, we met up with Mansor, our Egyptologist Guide. He was warm, astute and really knew his history. Importantly, he brought the history alive. It's one thing knowing historical characters, dates, places etcetera, but it is an art to bring history alive, of which Mansor was adroit in doing so. The food at the restaurant was delicious, just bear in mind that the drinks are not included in the trip. The Valley of the Kings was fantastic, going down into the mountains was such an experience, with the walls decorated still in bright colours, c2,500 years old, I bet Dulux paint wouldn't last that long! After exploring those ancient sites along with others places of note, we boarded a boat, heading for the Lotus Hotel on the Nile. I then played my Scottish bag-pipes up the Nile, with the locals in awe of the ancient sound of the pipes, in the land of Ancient Egypt. On our approach to the hotel, I played us in while standing aloft on the roof. There we had a guard of honour for my own Queen Nefetiti.... There we bid our dear Mansor farewell, then watched the Sun go down across on the west side of the Nile, We initially thought we would have to dine out in Luxor, as thought hotel would be pricey. To our joy, the menu was full of really good value for money. In fact it was one of the most enjoyable dinners that we had. The room with a view of the Nike was splendid! We were then picked up in the morning for the balloon ride, what magnificent views Afterwards, I okayed the pipes again on the Nile. After sitting in the Sun on the banks of the Nile, we were picked up to go home to Hurghada That day, thanks to Ahmed, Abdul, Mansor and all that support them, our trip was a trip in a lifetime! How's this, my wife said that it was one of the best days of her life! I strongly recommend using this company with these fantastic men at hand!

Interesting day which we all enjoyed. Driving was excellent (2 drivers), we felt no fear. The guide was charming, quite knowledgeable and friendly - but we found his accent hard to follow at times. Also we would have liked a little more time to wander a bit on our ow, but the tight schedule meant hour guide was forever asking us to keep close and listen to him instead - which a couple in our party found annoying!

Cruise ship was late and left early in the evening, but Mara Alam managed a great day in Luxor, adapting to the change in time available. Back in plenty of time to reboard. Be sure to have lunch on a boat!

Remarcable day trip from Hurghada to Luxor. High point of this experience was my tour guide Mansor, very knowledgeable person in Egypt anciet history and knows pretty much everything and everyone in the different sites we have been to. For me personally was a childhood dream coming true visiting Luxor, Valley of the Kings and seeing the Nile. I would recomend this tour to anyone and my tour guide Mansor without a shadow of a doubt!

We had an excellent time seeing all the sights around Luxor! Our guide, Naama, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience even better. She spoke perfectly fluent English and provided an insightful perspective on ancient Egypt and answered all our questions well. It was nice that the temples were also not very busy so I would definitely recommend visiting at this time of year. Overall a great visit to Luxor!

My favorit experience of the tour was the valley of rays that gave us the experience to have a closer look on the famous Graves of the old ray's. Especially our tour guide Mansor was very passionate about the topic and explained everything in an exciting manner to us! We had a great time with him on the tour.

We had a fantastic trip to Luxor from Hurghada with Marsa Alam tours. We booked online 2 days before. We were picked up at 05.00 and had a stop around 07.00 where there are loos to use, and the drivers have breakfast there. We had a packed breakfast from the hotel. We arrived in Luxor around 09.45 and were met by our guide, Abdullah. First stop was Karnak temple followed by Luxor Temple, Valley of the Kings, where we could visit 4 tombs, and temple of Hatshepsut. There are also a couple of opportunities to buy souvenirs, After Luxor temple, we were taken by motor launch across the Nile to lunch at a typical Egyptian restaurant, which was included in the price, except for drinks. The car had gone south to use the bridge and was ready to meet us when we had eaten and take us on to the Valley of the Kings. On the way back we were on a traditional boat to cross the Nile at sunset. Abdullah was a great guide. He took us around each place and gave us a lot of information, after which we could wander and take photos. His English is fluent and he has great knowledge and was happy to chat to us and answer our questions. Take water and snacks and have a great time. It is a long day, but you are well looked after, and although only scratching the surface of Ancient Egyptian history, it is fascinating, and a day to remember, like nowhere we have been before.
