The guide was very informative and followed the theme brilliantly. Costumes and tea were provided to add to the experience and made for great photos.

The Pure Glenorchy tour with Solomon as our guide exceeded expectations.Not only were the locations outstanding in their beauty but the information provided by Solomon in relation to which scenes took place at each location and how the special effects were used was outstanding.A lovely hot drink and snacks added to the day and it was topped off by a couple songs sung by Solomon on the van ride home.All up a fabulous experience from start to finish. .

We had a fantastic time with Solomon as our guide. There was beautiful scenery along the way and interesting stories about the films and books being shared throughout. Still photos from the LOTR and Hobbit films were shared at the locations to help picture the scenes as they were filmed. Highly recommended for fans of Tolkien's work or scenic views in general. Overall this was a fantastic way to spend a day around Queenstown.

This was hands down the best tour I have ever been on. Our guide Solomon was so knowledgeable and entertaining. I felt like the day had a perfect balance of information and then room for us all to take in the breath taking views. Everything was perfectly organised and timed, I felt very taken care of by our guide and will never forget the epic scenery we got to see. My favourite was the spot that this company has special access to. It was truly incredible.

From pick up to drop off, this tour was fantastic. Our tour guide/driver was Vicky, who had been an extra on the filming of Lord of the Rings and her experiences and local knowledge provided an excellent, interesting commentary to the tour. We stopped at various filming locations and scenic spots, with breathtaking scenery around every corner. A morning tea stop in Lothlorien enabled us to get into the spirit of the tour, with dress up costumes and swords provided for those of us who wanted to immerse themselves in the magic of it all. Morning tea was yummy, with lamingtons, cookies, tea and coffee. I didn't want it to end!

Commentary was very good enjoyed travelling to the various filming locations and enjoyed afternoon tea in the forest

Great way to visit the natural parks and learn more about the scenes in Lord of the rings. Shane was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendation for our time in Queenstown.

I took this tour on a wonderful fall afternoon and would highly recommend it. Shane knows a lot of interesting facts about the filming of the Lord of the Rings movies and also about the best restaurants in Queenstown. Glenorchy is very, very beautiful and thanks to Shane for letting me sit in the passenger seat, I got some great photos. The tour took us to beautiful lakes, Lothlórien and Isengard filming locations, and access to the farm where Isengard was filmed, and Shane prepared afternoon tea for us in Lothlórien. Props and cloaks are also provided for filming at the end of the trip and Shane patiently helped with the photos. I highly recommend it for hardcore Lord of the Rings fans ☺️.

Extremely knowledgeable guide provided us a wealth of knowledge about filming locations, including stills from the films compared to the actual sites. He also related many technical details of the filming and actor stories. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous on a gloriously sunny day.

The perfect way to start our New Zealand adventures. It was thrilling to visit Isengard, recreate Sam and Frodo seeing oliphaunts in Ithilien, have tea and run around in costume in Lothlorien while golden leaves are falling, and so much more. Our guide Sully even serenaded us with the Misty Mountain song. Highly recommend and would do it again!

Shane had great energy and anecdotes to spice up the tour. He also shared hugely useful tips about everything from rules of the road driving in New Zealand to great places to visit and shop in Queenstown. We had a great lunch after the tour, on one of those tips!

The tour company informed us on heavy rain prediction for the tour time we originally book, and suggested to switch to other tour time. Due to our flight schedule, we switched to an earlier tour with medium rain fall. The views were still beautiful, and mysteriously. The tour guide Solomon was great. We are glade we made the trip, even in a raining day.

We had the best time on our tour! So many great sites to visit, loved seeing Glenorchy and Paradise………and let’s just admit how much fun dressing up in costume in ‘Lothlorien Forest’ is!! Our tour guide Dan was very knowledgeable and a big fan like everyone on the tour which meant great stories and enthusiasm! Oh and he makes a good hot chocolate!

Absolutely brilliant trip! Our tour guide made sure we had the best time explaining locations/scenes, getting awesome photos and of course fun facts about the filming. Lunch was really nice too and the group was just the right size, thank you!

Went on a 10 day tour with AATKings. There were optional activities. I chose Lord of the Rings. Solomon, our guide showed us the most amazing scenery. I learned interesting facts about the production. In the forest of Beech Trees he treated us to tea and delicious pastry. He also supplied costumes to dress up and take pictures. Don't miss this when traveling. Worth it.

This tour was everything we hoped it would be. Our group had big, life-long Tolkiens fans as well as rookies to the films/books. Solomon was a wonderful guide!! We all had a great time enjoying the scenery, the stories, the film-making techniques. Dressing up in character while in the Golden Woods of Lothlorien was especially fun. It was all we could have wished for!
