Our two-day private photography tour in Lima was exceptional. Dan made an itinerary that was complied of what he felt was important for first time visitors as well as including our requests based on our photography interests. The photographer and driver were very warm, friendly and professional. It was like being with friends as soon as we were picked up to start our tour. The attention to details and the flexibility was wonderful. The communication was excellent from the initial request and even after the tour. The quality of service was second to none! We felt confident even before the tour that we were in good hands. Everyone involved delivered and we came home with such special memories, great images and new friends! I can highly recommend Dan and the team! We would not have had the wonderful experience we did without them!

I only had 1 day on my trip to Peru in Lima, so I found this tour online with several great reviews and gave Dan a last-minute call to arrange a tour on the same day and I'm so glad I did. I had a private tour with Dan who picked me up from my hostel and showed me all the highlights and plenty of hidden gems around Lima too. The pace was great, not too rushed so I could take my time for good photos, talk to locals and learn more about Lima and Peru. I definitely made the most of my 1 day in Lima and would highly recommend!

I spent a wonderful day with Dan exploring Lima City with all hidden gems. Being on a business trip in Lima, I took advantage of the weekend to explore Lima with the intention to visit the less touristic but stunning parts of the town and to learn about the culture and lives of the people there. It was such a gorgeous day immersing into Lima and learning so much about Peru, it's people and culture from Dan. I can recommend this private tour to everyone. Having travelled a lot, this was one of my best city tours ever! I can highly recommend it to anyone!

Dan was a spectacular guide for our day in Lima. He immediately got that we wanted to go to some off the beaten path places and he really delivered! Loved the local market! The driver was also great.

My husband and I had three wonderful days with Dan seeing Lima. We explored Colonial Lima from inside historic homes and outside in the streets and plazas. We saw highlights by day, such as a Huaca Pucllana and Casa Aliaga, and had a photo shoot at night all around the magic water circuit. Dan provided the perfect balance of historical background, cultural interpretation, modern day Peruvian influences, camera tips, and door to door service from one amazing site to the next. We hope to travel with Dan again!

This was the perfect introduction to Lima and my first day in Peru! Dan was absolutely amazing, super friendly and fun to hang out with. We had a great day together and he really helped me out with using my camera which really helped me for the rest of my trip. We went to some really cool spots including areas that were less touristy, which was great. I can't recommend this day tour enough. I did a Lima day tour with Dan and Andean Photo Expeditions. I had a wonderful time, and it was by far the highlight of my trip. My experience was so much better than taking a standard city tour. We went to various parts of Lima, including some more off the beaten path places. This made for really unique photo opportunities. Wherever we went we saw folks that knew Dan. He’s got a great relationship with the local people, and you can tell that they really respect him. It was wonderful to hear that he gives back to the community as well. Dan is a genuinely nice guy who was a pleasure to spend time with. He really knows his stuff, and gave me very useful advice that made for some fantastic photos. I loved being able to tap into his wealth of knowledge. I learned a lot, and it was great getting to see and learn about the city through the eyes of a photographer. There are many options when it comes to taking city tours. This was a truly unique experience that was unlike others other tours I’ve taken. I wholeheartedly recommend Andean Photo Expeditions. Can't wait to do another photo tour with them in Cusco.

My group and I spent an excellent day with Dan on his Lima Photo Tour. My group of photographers discovered many places in Lima that would not be on "standard" tourist tours. Dan runs his photo tours very professionally from the moment you contact him to book a tour ... to doing the actual tour. He is top notch! Highly recommended.

A huge thank you to Dan at Andean Photo Expeditions for being such a great guide and teacher during this tour from the moment he picked us up at our hotel to the moment he dropped us off at the end of an outstanding day. The tour was a great overview of Lima and really showed us how beautiful the city is, including some sights you might not find on your typical run-of-the mill tour. Dan managed the time perfectly and made sure we were able to fit in all the things we wanted to see and much more. And as someone who relies on my smartphone to take pictures, I appreciated that he had great tips for me as well as my friends who had photography equipment. If I ever make it back to Peru, I will make sure to book with Andean Photo Expeditions again.

Arriving for our first time in Lima, we sought a local guide who not only catered to photographers but also would show us the lesser known and emerging spots, places where real Limenos hang out. There’s no one better to do that than Dan and his crew at Andean Photography. He provided a cultural perspective of both its history, politics and current scene . Note: downtown Lima suffers from crazy heavy traffic, so Dan and Cesar’s local knowledge really saved us from a lot of unproductive “stumble around” time. Really important to us: We were able to go into neighborhoods we wouldn’t do on our own. (Lesson: You can go edgier when you’re with someone who knows what would and would not upset the culture while photographing.) BTW- while my husband is a serious DSLR guy, I was using my smartphone and Dan was equally helpful to both of us. When we come back to visit Cuzco, we’re definitely checking in with him again, as we hear he does a great Andes tour as well.

Dan at A.P.E. made it all come together for us. He took us to all the best places to get the best shots of the most interesting and picturesque things. He and Cesarito did an outstanding job. All praises, zero complaints.

Absolutely fantastic day exploring Lima with Dan and his team - we visited some amazing places that regular tours do not go to, and felt very safe and comfortable throughout the experience. The best money I’ve spent in a long time!! You will see all the highlights of Lima, catered to a love of photography!! The cultural experience is unbeatable. Dan is a phenomenal guide with unique stories of each place. I felt safe and engaged the entire tour! Had an amazing day touring Lima with Dan while learning about photography. The most unique aspect of the experience was Dan’s ability to convey a side of the city much more complex than meets the eye. Lima is layered and full of stories of course. But the tour granted me a glimpse into the human condition behind all that history, and it made the place feel accessible and relatable. Dan’s authentic love for the city and its people is very obvious. There was a great amount of respect he paid everyone we encountered - from waiters, to fishermen, to street vendors, and even those asking for money. I signed up for a photography workshop and a bit of sightseeing. Instead I received a lesson in how to connect with perfect strangers on a human level, and capture a bit of their spirit in images in the process. Highly recommend this tour and Dan’s services.

Dan was an excellent and knowledgeable guide and our day included many diverse parts of the city and some useful photography tips. I dont think we could have fit any more adventure into 7 hours. The Chorillo fish market and pier was a definite highlight.

I engaged Dan to take me places in Lima I might not otherwise find on my own. He planned a private tour for me that was exactly what I had in mind. It was excellent in every way. Dan is delightful, affable, knowledgeable and accommodating. He’s an educated and capable photographer in his own right. He offered photography-related suggestions and help but let me do my own thing without being imposing. His English is perfect; his manners impeccable. Dan provided a clean and comfortable car and a driver who navigated efficiently and drove safely. All in all, a delightful day. I hope to return to Peru and when I do, I will contact Dan again.
