My wife of 43 years is Korean, but she left Korea to study in the United States when she was 18, so she was not familiar with the "new and modern" Korea. We both found this tour fascinating. I've been asking her why Korea has one of the highest suicide rates in the world, and she didn't know until this tour. The korean people and culture are phenomenal, but so is their stress. The facts given and the history in this tour (June is a Korean history major) helped us understand the causes and level of stress. It was well organized and well presented. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

We were exposed to the Sourh Korea that is rarely discussed: the extreme competition in all strata, the overwhelming pressure on students, and the unreasonable cost of raising a family. Jessica, our tour guide, was excellent. She is the perfect guide for this tour, given that she sees things with Western lenses and feels things with her Korean emotions. Her English is flawless too.

Below the glitz and glamour of K-pop and K-dramas, there is another side of Korean society that we may not know of. Our tour guide June did an excellent job in showing and explaining this aspect.

Super interesting tour about Gangnam and how some issues in Korea culminate there, founded on data and explained by a histrian - I really enjoyed to dive a little deeper into how Korean society works. The tour was nice and short without much walking. Part of the group also had lunch together, June showed us a restaurant and helped us make the best choises for a delicious meal.

June gave a fantastic tour to our group. His topics were relevant to modern day Korea and were issues that other tours will not acknowledge. He is easy to understand and keeps a good walking pace, too. Highly recommend to people coming to Seoul as an engaging, knowledgeable, and down to Earth tour

The subject is so different from the typical tourist tour. There is so much more to Korea than cherry blossoms, palaces and temples. June relates the current economic and living situation of many Korean people. He provides actual statistics and other data as he explains the current socio-economic challenges of the people of Korea. But more than that, he makes those numbers come alive by taking you to actual places that are the result of / create these realities. This is not a negative tour; June is not down on Korea. But it is a tour that will make you think about issues facing not just Korea but much of the world and June encourages his guests to compare how their home countries face and address similar issues. It leads to some wonderful discussions with and among his guests during and after the tour. He is clear, summarizes his points well, asks for questions regularly and displays his passion for his country and people generally. Because he is so personable and open and easy to understand, it is easy to ask him about just about anything to do with Korea. June pays close attention to each individual on his tours making sure they can hear him, understand what he is saying, don't have any unanswered questions, and that they are not having trouble with the walking and resting pace. He even sends you suggestions of restaurants and such after the tour and offers his contact info in case you need help while visiting. Such a nice guy! This was actually my fourth tour with June over the past year and half. I will continue to live in Seoul for another year and I will continue to take his tours as he has proven to be one of the most informative, easily approachable and entertaining guides I have found here - and I have taken a lot of tours. Trust me, despite best intentions, not all tour guides are as equally informed, able to communicate their knowledge or concerned about their guests.

Brilliant tour that I think everyone visiting S. Korea should do. I'd heard some things about the topics discussed before, but this tour really gave the full view of the culture in S. Korea that most residents experience, all delivered with great first hand context from our amazing guide Jessica. Highly recommend this tour.

We loved Jessica on the night tour of Seoul and we wanted to give us a tour also in Gangnam, to learn more about the youth culture and daily life of young Koreans. Again it was an amazing tour, full of detailed information. Highly recommended tour.
