Amazing experience with a great understanding of life and culture. The tour guide was also very knowledgeable about the history of this region.

Rahul went out of his way to be helpful in many ways. He’d assigned us another guide, but upon hearing that we’d specifically picked him given the reviews that mention him, he rearranged his schedule to accompany us. He kindly helped with my phone recharge as well, and was thoughtful and pleasant throughout the tour. He took us through the different sections of Dharavi, both commercial and residential, and provided light commentary along the way. Unfortunately, having done this tour a few years ago with a different company, we were disappointed by the lack of substance and knowledge imparted. We also paid extra for a 3-hour tour including Dhobhi Ghat, but that was merely getting out of the train, taking a couple photos, and hearing about it for a few minutes before we were back on our way. We were done with the full tour, meetup downtown to goodbyes, in 2 hours on the dot. At the end, Rahul welcomed us into his home and asked us to take a few minutes to leave the review, which may explain a lot of the glowing commentaries. Overall, he is a positive force in his neighborhood (particularly with schoolchildren for whom he arranges free teaching) and the money is for a good cause, which is why we have no regrets. Note, however, that most of the genuine Dharavi tours also give back a significant portion to their community.

Once in a lifetime experience. Rahul was very kind in taking us through the different zones in Dharavi. And finished the tour with a cup of chainat his home. Will definitely recommend this experience through young tour and travels.

Absolutely amazing! The guide Mayur was so helpful, speaks excellent English and showed us every nook and cranny with so much patience. Loved the experience and is a must visit !

What a relief to hear our guides first words in clear english and also be able to ask questions and be understood. He knew almost everyone we passed as he lives there and I felt completely safe as we worked our way through an absolute maze of narrow laneways and tiny businesses. It completely changed my view of a place to avoid to a place where they all look after each other.

This was a very rich and insightful tour with Rahul. He grew up in Dharavi and led us through the commercial and residential parts of Dharavi including areas which would be otherwise inaccessible to non residents. He is extremely nice, helpful and knowledgable about Dharavi with inside knowledge of the neighbourhood. Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit Dharavi.

Rahul provided us with an excellent tour around the Dharavi Slum giving us an Insight to life in the community. As a resident himself he was able to educate us on the history, the day to day life of those living within and also the political and educational aspect of life in the area. Rahul's spoke perfect english, and along with his driver Sagar who collected us and dropped us back to the hotel, the whole experience was incredibly professional and well organised. We were also lucky enough to be taken to Rahuls house at the end of the tour and visit him home also and meet his family. Rahul was an excellent guide who provided amazing stories and facts about Dharavi. Being a local, he was able to take us into special areas that you wouldn’t see normally. I highly recommend Rahul and be prepared to be humbled by the amazing experience.

We had a great tour with our guide Sagar. He lead us through the plastic recycling, leather and pottery industries. He also showed us his home to give us an idea of how a family lives in Dharavi. Would be an interesting trip for foreigners out of India but as Indians it was interesting but not surprising to see the lives of locals. Would recommend for international foreigners.

A bit of a back story- we’d booked a shore excursion with Mystical Mumbai but they did not show up to meet us. As we stood there waiting and texting, a very helpful young man named Rahul came up to inquire if we needed help. As it turned out, he knew our tour operator and arranged with them to be our guide to the Dharavi slum. The tour was extremely interesting. Rahul was totally at ease guiding us through the narrow alleys and dealing with the locals. For anyone concerned about feeling ‘voyeuristic’, that was not the case at all. The people, especially the children, were friendly and as curious as we were. No one tried to beg or sell things- quite different than in most of the rest of Mumbai. I highly recommend Rahul and thank him again for saving our day.
