They were amazing, felt very taken care of the entire time. Could not recommend them enough. The last day was very emotional when we had to say goodbye.

If you're thinking of achieving that mountain - with no doubts I can recommend Monkey Travels. Starting with the process of registration, pick up at the airport, briefing in the hotel, and finally through the entire trek. We were lucky to have a great party of 9 staff from Monkey Adventures to assist, not saying to help to achieve our dream. Paul and Erick were great guides - they were always taking care of us - providing all necessary info for each day, making sure we follow proper pace (you don't want to do it quickly - it's not the race!) and supporting and motivating us on last final climb! I wasn't also expecting that variety choice of food, not saying that portions we were getting were huge (and I can eat a lot ...). All potters were always with happy attitude and with they smile, you could feel like at home. They even help you to take off the shoes, once it's raining. If you think on climbing Kili - 100% go for Monkey Adventures!

It was a unique, breathtaking experience for us. We had a great crew who were open and welcoming and always made us laugh. They pushed us all the way to the summit and actively supported us. We would book with Monkey Adventures again at any time and can recommend this company to anyone. Many thanks for everything.

I did the Kilimanjaro Lemosho trek in August with John Summay and his team. I was most impressed with their organization and team work, everything was so thought out and ran like clockwork. Great food and abundant. The guys were very proficient and always in good cheer, constantly checking on my health and well-being. John is really experienced, I would not have made the summit without him. He is extremely knowledgeable on many topics. I can highly recommend this experienced crew. When arranging the trek Monkey Adventures were very informative, always replied very quickly and were also very flexible when I needed to change dates, etc. Absolutely no cons, only pros.

The hike up Kilimanjaro was an incredible experience, it was the perfect challenge I was looking for and some definite Type 2 fun. The entire team at MonkeyAdventures made every one of the 8 days we were on the mountain so enjoyable. I wasn’t initially a fan of having others carry my gear between camps, but honestly after 10km of trekking it was such a nice touch to come into camp and see everyone there ready to welcome you and congratulate you on crushing another day. The hot coffee and tea delivered right to the tent every morning was the best way to wake up and get warm once you get up to altitude. Our guides Ramadan and Jop were absolute legends. Between the two of them they knew the name for every flower and bird we saw on the trail, and they had a million stories about other summit trips to share that entertained us through the journey. Our porters were awesome, especially Will and Isaac who gave us some extra help on summit night to make sure everyone got to the top as a group, that really made the morning fantastic. Christian was a wizard in the cooking tent, he genuinely made us pizza at 3000m up. Incredible. Yunus was a fantastic host, always checking in on us during meals and making sure we had everything prepped before heading out in the morning. The whole team at Monkey was stellar, they really made the trip seamless. I wouldn’t have changed a thing, I couldn’t imagine my experience without them.

We trekked this route with G Adventures and were extremely well looked after by the whole team. The trek was incredibly scenic and we definitely felt that the extra day on the route helped with acclimatisation.. the summit night was very tough but at no point did I think I would not make it. It was an inspiring trip and I am already planning my next trek- and I will definitely travel with G Adventures again.

We recently finished an 8 day trek on the Lemosho route with Monkey Adventures, after summiting on October 3, 2023. I am so thankful that we picked a) this route b) the 8 day trek c) this guiding service Our head guide was Ramadhan, our assistant guide was Job, our chef was Christian, our waiter was Eunice. There were also multiple porters for each hiker. I cannot say enough good things about our team. Every support staff member was professional, friendly and kind. Our guides were very knowledgeable and helpful, and did everything they could to provide us with a memorable experience and success on summit day. Ramadhan and Job checked in on us, offered information about the landscape, and knew how to read the room. I was completely comfortable with both of them. This was important because as I was puking all over on summit day, they patted my back and dispensed just the right amount of attention and then we were on our way again. Our chef, Christian, cooked delicious, nutritious food daily. He also included soup with essentially every lunch and dinner, which was a great option when appetites were lacking due to altitude. Christian also made the best fried chicken I have ever had. Do you know what it feels like to eat the best fried chicken of your life at 4,500 meters? It doesn't even feel real. And I'm certain that if I had it right now sitting at sea level it would still be the best fried chicken of my life. Eunice, our waiter, brought us tea to our tent every morning and hot water to wash our hands with. We were absolutely spoiled. We took diamox and malarone. No real issues with that except diamox makes you have to urinate more frequently. We were on the fence about diamox but ultimately we decided to take it, because if you have diamox and you don't take it, and for some reason you do not summit, you are probably going to wonder if it would have helped you acclimate enough to make the difference. Considering that we spent half a decade saving for this trip and months planning, we decided to not mess around and for us that was the right choice. We are from the US, and were lucky enough to be paired with a great couple from Canada. There were a fair number of groups that only had one or two hikers which kind of surprised me, but I guess the end of Sept. is when things are slowing down a bit. Altitude affects everyone differently. We saw some people who looked fit as a fiddle who were being escorted down because their oxygen was dangerously low and other people who did not fit your stereotypical idea of a person who would hike the tallest peak in Africa and yet they did it. A huge point that our guides emphasized every day was "pole pole," or "slowly slowly." The slower you go, the more you acclimate, and the higher your chances of success. Our guides told us multiple stories of people in excellent athletic shape who rushed, didn't acclimate, and had to turn around. So if it feels like you are walking ridiculously slowly you are probably doing it right. And it probably won't feel so slow once you get to base camp. Also- our guides were always optimistic and expected us to be the same. Rain, shine, jungle, alpine zone- didn't matter. They exuded positive energy at all times. The Lemosho route was BEAUTIFUL, even when it was a soggy, wet, misty river. We loved that we got to fully experience the array of climate zones. It rained a lot, but there were some windows of sun so we could dry our gear. We did talk to a couple from another guide service and it snowed the day they summited (Oct. 4) and all of their clothes got soaked in their tents at the lower elevation. It was also pretty cold at night. I was happy I brought my 800 fill down jacket and waterproof ski shell. Regardless of when you do this, bring a poncho and a backpack cover. A $1.50 poncho could mean the difference between your comfort and your misery. We saw Colobus monkeys, white throated ravens, beautiful flowers, stunning night scenes. Our team was wonderful. The route was wonderful. Summit day was hard. Hands down one of the best things I've ever done with myself. Bring enough cash for tips, if it's USD it needs to be past 2013 for anyone to be able to use it. These guys deserve it.

Wonderful trip. Guides, porters, cooks, etc. were amazing. They were always extremely professional but with a heavy dose of warm personality. The trek was excellent. Couldn't have asked for a better experience on all dimensions. Also, the agency was prompt, helpful, and professional with the replies. My only regret is that I didn't book my safari with them afterwards. I would highly recommend Monkey Adventure and will certainly use them again when my kids are ready to hike up Kili.

We used Monkey Adventures for two separate bookings in Tanzania; Kili Hike and a Safari in the Serengeti / Ngorongoro Crater. Both trips were flawless!! The guides on each trip were knowledgeable about history, geography, wildlife and their country in general. They kept us safe, checked on our health, got us to the top of the mountain and didn’t let us get in any dangerous animal encounters. All the porters were great, transportation vehicles never had any problems, etc… Also, the booking agents at Monkey were both a great resource in putting the trips together, but also calling out and booking all the small details such as transfers, hotels before and after bookings, bush flights, etc…. Also, before I forget, they did pre and post trip debriefs and made sure we had the right equipment before climbing the mountain. I would not hesitate for a second on using this locally owned business for future bookings in Africa.

Such an awesome experience!! The crew was amazing!! You are fully able to just relax and enjoy your climb because they take such great care of you!! Food was amazing! Sam and Regis were our leaders and I can’t say enough about them! If you’re looking for a good group to take you to the top of Kilimanjaro, this is the group!! Everyone on his team is amazing and they all are eager to help you and so nice!! Glad we got a toilet of our own, that made the dark trips to the bathroom so much better!! Sam and Regis really touched me, on the first day, they helped a new porter out by carrying some of her load. They also had bags for us to put garbage in while we hiked and they would stop and pick up garbage on the way. I honestly wouldn’t have made it to the top without them, I have some eye diseases and am not able to see in the dark, they held my hand the whole way to the top and helped shine lights for me to see, amazing people!!

The BEST company to go with. Food was amazing, guides (Sam and Regis) were so supportive, and the crew went above and beyond. Very positive and made sure we were happy all along the way. They will do everything to make sure you have a successful summit. We were very prepared for the hike and supported along the way. Knowledgeable and kind. Showed us the best in the African people. Truly the best experience! Go with Monkey Adventures for both the climb and a safari after. You won’t be disappointed and you’ll save so much money. Take cash….credit cards weren’t accepted most places.

What can I say, everything was perfect. A very experienced guide Brighton, also the whole crew was very well attuned. We always felt that we were in good hands, even when we were confronted with a case of illness and one person had to dismount. Very flexible help, the person was not left alone in the hotel the whole time. Highly recommended. Lemosho 8 days June 2023

We climbed Kilimanjaro with Monkey Adventures in February 2023 (Lemosho Route 8 days) and I can absolutely recommend them. The communication via email when we were booking the climb and clarifying details worked very well. When we arrived, everything went according to plan. The guides were great - very friendly and helpful. Our main guide was Rajab, his whole team of guides, cooks and porters was very well organised and everybody was super friendly. Guides told us every evening what we can expect the following day. During the climb they made sure that we were ok and that we did not miss the views, flora and wildlife (monkeys and antilope :) that we would have never noticed otherwise. The food was very good, lunches and dinners surprisingly variable and there was plenty of it. We also had fresh fruit and vegetables every day. Before the cooks received fresh supplies (in the middle of the trip) they consulted our preferences with us.The whole team did really everything they could to ensure that we made it to the top, including taking our day backpacks during the summit day if needed - and we (all eight of us) made it :). Thank you Monkey Adventures and namely our guides Rajab, Rafael, Nelson and Colman for this unforgettable experience! Katerina, Czech Republic

The BEST trip ever. Monkey Tours, especially our guides Sam and Elli, along with our chef, waiter and 8 porters. Best to book a private tour so you can go at your own pace. The support and care my daughter and I received was outstanding. The food was fabulous. You have to eat a lot of food to climb and drink a lot of water. My daughter made it to the top !! I hurt my foot on day four (a previous injury flared up)and had to descend. My guide escorted me down, then spend 3 days with me (days only) making sure I was comfortable and safe. He was in constant contact with the other guide so I could follow my daughter's trip.

Did 8 days Lemosho to the top of the Kilimanjaro with a 9 trekkers group. The Monkey crew was a significant factor of the trek success. The guides, the chef and all the porters where professional, kind and did everything possible to make our challenge more comfortable and safer. Always with a big smile and good vibes.

Awesome experience hiking Kilimanjaro with Monkey adventures . Many thanks to the amazing team of porters and guides - Lazaro, Juma and especially our assistant guide Evance who helped me tackle the summit night . We were at Stella point when the first rays of the New Year 2023 came up and Uhuru peak about an hour later. The crew and the other folks in the group felt like family for those 8 days and the memories bring an automatic smile to my face.
