We loved our experience with Alma tours. The perspective on the Book of Mormon was outstanding and brought new insights to our family. Luis was an excellent tour guide and we would highly recommend him to anyone. He was conscientious of our needs while taking our young granddaughter with us, and very kind to our family. Now that we have returned home our kids all say that was one of their biggest highlights of our trip. Thank you for some cherished memories.

This tour was awesome. Luis was our guide and was amazing. My teenagers weren’t thrilled for “site seeing” but loved every minute of it and Luis did an amazing job of keeping their attention and relating the Mayan history and culture to possible BOM history. Restaurant was good food. Cenote was a great cook off and experience for everyone. Luis thanks for an awesome adventure and memories.

We had an amazing experience touring Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Luis was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable of the background, context, and significance of the sites we visited. Excellent food as well! We ended our tour with a refreshing dip in a cenote. Grateful for Luis and Alma’s Tours for a fantastic time!

Our tour also included Ek Balam which is a must. Louis was our guide, and was well prepared to handle our group of 8. His English was excellent. He was on time at the pickup, knowledgeable, and fun. He included the history of the site as well as religious background so you would understand what you were seeing. Louis did not rush us, but kept us moving so we could see it all. Our lunch buffet was delicious and included authentic Mexican foods. They even catered to our daughter who is a celiac. The chef brought her own, freshly prepared meal. After our lunch we headed to Chichen Itza which is a UNESCO site. Because we had been well taught by Louis at Ek Balam, we understood even more of the detail at Chichen Itza. We ended our day at the Grand Cenote to cool off. It was just a fabulous all day excursion,

Ricardo was on time, professional, and friendly. He answered all questions and provided very knowledgeable information about the site and the history of the Maya that made the day most enjoyable. We learned much. Our best tour guide/driver to date.

Amazing tour! The entire experience is something our family will likely remember for years to come. Luis was the perfect guide…on time, good driver and extremely knowledgeable. He was an effective communicator of historical facts, Mayan traditions and potential Book of Mormon parallels. Had an amazing authentic Yucatsn flavor lunch followed by a refreshing dip in a beautiful Cenote Overall, Luis was a great guide of a well thought out and memorable tour

This was a fabulous trip to Chichén Itzá ! Communication was excellent for set up, pick up, drop off and of course the tour itself! Luis was so knowledgeable and his passion for the Mayan culture is contagious. My husband and I joined a group of 9. He was very patient with our group...which consisted of young and old. Without hesitation we would go on any of the other tours that Luis was the guide for!

We did the tour for Ek Balam, Chichen Itza, and the Cenote. Luis was our guide and he was amazing!! His knowledge of Mayan culture and religious is fantastic. The van was clean and air conditioning was great. We had Ek Balam almost to ourselves since he had us arrive there first thing in the morning. We loved seeing the detailed artistry of the Mayan culture and learning about all the images and names. I cannot say enough good about Luis. He really brought the Mayan culture and the Book of Mormon to life in a way I never expected. I would definitely go again on this tour. I would also trust them with any other tours as well.

Just got back from cancun where we did a tour to chichinitza and a cenote with Alma tours. Ricardo was our guide and he was amazing! Funny, personable, professional, and so knowledgeable. Amazing to see the ruins with a gospel perspective. I was so glad we weren't in the groups we saw that came on tour busses and had 40+ ppl trying to listen to one tour guide all at once. Lunch was my favorite food of the whole trip and the cenote was beautiful and so fun! I would 100% recommend this tour, and Ricardo, to anyone! 10/10

Ricardo was a great tour guide! We had a fun day, learned a lot and felt very safe and taken care of. The van was super clean, they had cold water bottles provided. Gave us a great tour, and was very friendly. Then we had lunch, he joined us and it was fun to talk with him more. Then we had a great time swimming at a cenote, although it was quite crowded. We had no one else in our group, so it was a very private tour which was so nice! Definitely worth the price! And we were so glad we weren’t on a tour bus with a giant group.

I was blown away by our tour of Chichen Itza. Chris (our tour guide) went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. He catered the tour to our interests and taught us about things we had questions about. We left feeling a great desire to learn more about the ancient Mayan people. We discussed the possibility of going to a site like this without a tour guide and we would have been lost without Almatours! Thank you for everything. I highly recommend going to this site with an Almatours tour guide!

Excellent experience! Our guide Luis taught us so much about Mayan culture and religion and the similarities with our own beliefs. I would absolutely recommend this tour for LDS families traveling in the area. I'd like to come back and do the multi-day tours! Also, this area of Mexico is very hot and the centote swim was exactly what we needed after the tour.

Louis picked us up at our hotel and drove us to Chichen Itza. He was very friendly and helpful telling us what to expect and things we needed and didn't need to bring. He had a cooler filled with waters and some other drinks. The ride in the van was comfortable and cool. We had worried that it might be hot but the AC worked rally good and we were very comfortable. We saw Chichen Itza and Louis gave us a very good tour explaining the history with pictures as he showed us around and each area he also explained to us the connection to the Book of Mormon and to Jesus Christ. He gave us time to think and talk a little about what thoughts we had relating these things to the gospel. He then took us to the shopping market outside but we wished we would have spent some time inside shopping because we didn't see some of the items outside that were being sold inside. He took us to lunch after Chichen Itza and it was a very good buffet. He explained everything to us so we didn't have to guess on what was going on. He took very good care of us. He then took us to the Cenote and left us there for an hour to swim in the Cenote. That was a nice break from the heat. We had a great experience with Alma LDS Tours and with Louis. I would highly recommend this travel guide. It was more expensive than the tour excursion that the Hotel offered but it was very personable and quiet since it was just our group of 4 and that was worth the extra money.

We got to spend the day with Luis and another small family group touring Chichen Itza. We were picked up early (7:15) from our hotel in the Cancun hotel district. The drive is a little over two hours, but worth it to see one of the wonders of the world. Luis was a great guide and had a lot of knowledge about Mayan History, and answered questions relating to LDS and BOM history. Chichen itza was was awe inspiring, it is crazy what this ancient people accomplished without modern technology and equipment. There are lots of people selling goods and souvenirs, I’m sure like there were in Mayan times. We then traveled about 5 minutes to a Yucatán style buffet lunch that was fantastic—-beans and rice, fried fish, sopa de limon. Swimming in the cenote was a cool experience—-something that should be on everyone’s bucket list. Lockers and life jackets were included and we had no extra costs on this excursion, except tips and souvenirs. Everyone slept on the way back to hotel drop off—-it was a full day and totally worth it!
