Absolutely fantastic day on the water with Hang and Tony as our guides. So incredibly knowledgeable and willing to answer all our questions. By far the best tour option in Cat Ba. This company pay extra to take you to secluded places without other tourist groups and it made a huge difference to our experience!

Great service, guide, boats. There are so MANY companies/tour operators selling cruises online and offline, it got difficult to decide how to find the suitable one. We were almost going to drop off Halong Bay from our trip because it is exteremely touristy and crowded. One of a fellow traveler recommended Cat Ba Ventures and we are very thankful to him. We enjoyed the day cruise very much. The group was small and the route they sail and the stops they make are SO less touristy. We were surprised and delighted by our experience. The food was awesome. We are vegetarians and we were served so many options. The two guide Tom and Quin spoke perfect English, we could easily follow. They were friendly and very informative. Highly recommend Cat Ba Ventures.

Ha Long Bay is rightly considered a must-see in Vietnam. However, it was difficult to find a travel company that offers more sustainable trips and offers something different than the usual boat tours. Cat Ba ventures propose a good alternative if you want to avoid the big groups. They have different proposals and their prices are reasonable mainly in consideration of the services they provide. Also, they have been very patient and understanding with me when booked the trip on the wrong dates. We opted for a full-day trip and decided to sleep in Cat Ba. We left Hanoi at 7:20 in the morning with Cat Ba express bus (they offer a pick service if you are staying in the Old quarter of Hanoi for 13 USD per person including the ferry) and reached Cat Ba Island around 11:30. Cat Ba Express dropped us off directly at the hotel we chose (The Moon Boutique, highly recommended). Cat BA venture office is very easy to reach. Usually, they ask for an advance payment at the time of the booking and then you settle the outstanding payment once there. Credit Cards are accepted but there is a supplement of 3%, which is common almost everywhere in Vietnam. We left for the tour at 8:30 in the morning after. They divided the group into two groups, ending up with less than 20 as promised. We navigated around Lan Ha Bay; passed by the floating fishing village, and stopped to visit the floating fish farm. We then cruised to Ha Long Bay, and went kayaking for almost 2 hours through lagoons and tunnels to discover the Bat and Dark caves. We made two stops for swimming. Then we returned to Lan Ha Bay by a different route We had lunch on the boat and it was amazing! Plenty of choices are also available for vegetarians. Last but not least a great thanks to our guide, Hang. Hang was not only very professional, but polite, funny, and always available to explain the history of his country and reply to any curiosity you may have. His English was perfect and that made the conversation easier.

Hang was brilliant! Far more comprehensive than expected, explaining everything from the culture, to the geology, to the marine life and the history of the bay, different laws - so much knowledge! Jack and Bee were amazing hosts. They were funny and informative. They took us to each spot at the perfect timing when there were no crowds. The itinerary was good. A mix between relaxation and activity. The lunch fried fish was delicious! Lots of food to go around the table.

Fantastic day trip from Cat Ba town - very well organised from start to finish, hosts were brilliant including Thom (Cruise 🤣), food was good on the boat and swimming (including crawling through a gap at the back of a small beach to get to another hidden beach) and Kayaking made it a truly memorable experience - can't fault it and would highly recommend versus going to Halong bay. Cat Ba Ventures are a very professional company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them - thank you!

Hang is the best tour guide we have ever had. He was so lovely, enthusiastic and made the whole experience so much more exciting! The trip was quite long so I’d recommend bringing a book as there’s lots of touring in between activities and the boat is big enough that you can bring a bag and leave it inside without worrying it will get wet.

Hang is a real pro ! I went there with my girlfriend knowing nothing about the bay and also I'm a bit afraid of the things in groups of 30 people BUT Hang was here every time with a perfect english to make us laugh, discover and love its country and he was really professional and also a good kayaker!

It was really nice trip with our guide Hang. He took care of us all the time and enriched us with very interesting informations. We were cruising, kayaking and swimming. Also there were included various dishes. Highlight of the trip were Hang´s card trics. I deffinitely reccommend it!.
