Too much fun! Great day out in the Yellowstone Lamar River Valley countryside. Saw all sorts of wildlife. Guide was personable, knowledgeable, and turned our group of "new friends" into a happy hiking family sharing this unique experience. Very safety oriented.

Emily was an amazing tour guide! She was so kind and friendly and very informative and knowledgeable. We would definitely book another tour with her again. What a great hiking tour! We went on the Lamar Valley hike last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was a beautiful day, the other hikers were very pleasant, and our guide, Mark, was very professional and a wealth of knowledge about the area! When we arrived, he offered coffee, provided everyone with lunch and snacks, gave water, sunscreen, binoculars and backpacks to those who needed them, and off we went! Since I had not been to Yellowstone previously, I really appreciated the educational part of the hike. There was just the right amount of peaceful hiking, water/rest breaks, fun facts, and interactive discussions. We saw pronghorns, lots of bison, and even a bald eagle! What a perfect day! I highly recommend booking a tour with Yellowstone Hiking Guides and Mark!

Yellowstone Hiking Guides was terrific. They answered all questions prior to the trip promptly and are easy to contact. The tour itself is fantastic, a great opportunity to get out in the valley closer to the bison herds and the pronghorn. Our guide Mark was great. He has a lot of knowledge about the area, plant life as well as wildlife. He was great getting us close to a bison herd taking care to watch their movements so that we could maintain a safe distance. He has a good sense of humor and pleasant way of pointing out things we would have missed on our own. Great lunch in a nice spot.

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike. Emily Jo was so entertaining and knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. We also enjoyed a yummy lunch by the river. I would highly recommend this hike while in Yellowstone.

Signed up for the hike with my 12 yr old nephew and 81 yr old mom, so wasn’t sure how it would go for such extreme age groups, but it was awesome. I would totally recommend the hike for anyone. Emily was awesome.

We had a wonderful and very educational hike in the valley with our exceptional guide Mark. We were a group of 7 over 60 + friends and Mark was very good at pacing the hike -especially after the hills! We saw bison, prong horn , and a badger up close and personal. Mark was professional, very educational, and we felt safe the whole trip. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at a beautiful serene spot by the river. It was almost 7 miles so we felt very accomplished at the end of the day! Thanks Mark hope to see you again!

I absolutely loved this hiking trip! Our guide was so informative and friendly! It was a little scary to be among the bison especially during mating season but our guide made us feel very safe. I would recommend this hike to anyone, our family had the best time.

Emily Jo was wonderful, knowledgeable, and warm. She paced the hike to accommodate everyone's abilities, had a delicious lunch prepared for everyone, and made the hike a lot of fun! We saw bison, a ground squirrel, and longhorn sheep (what animals you see depends on what month you visit Yellowstone). We saw pronghorns and deer on our way to the trailhead. We felt very safe and appreciated her taking time to talk about safety at the start of the tour. Would 100% recommend!

I could not manage to join a group because of a food poison the night before( terrible experience). I got money back and I must say they were extremely kind!!!! Totally recommend this tour!

Mark was an amazing guide! On our hike we were able to spot a wolf pup, grizzly bear and a badger in addition to prong horns, bison and ground squirrels. He was eager to share his knowledge of the flora and fauna and patiently answered our many questions, all the while ever mindful of our safety. I would recommend Yellowstone Hiking Guides to anyone who wants an in depth experience of Yellowstone.

We had SO much fun with Emily in the Lamar Valley. We were fortunate to have a private hike with her and she took us into the backcountry to get a truly unique experience. As Emily led us through the valley, she shared her passion and knowledge with us. She also asked us lots of questions about our own lives and by the time the hike was over, we felt like we had just spent the day with a good friend. As we crossed a highway of bison, we felt completely safe with her. I can't recommend this hike enough. This is the sort of experience that will stay with you for your entire life. The hike was exhausting but very fun! Our tour guide Alex was especially helpful making sure the group was safe and well-informed about everything we encountered.

The drive to the meet up point was memorable as we saw multitudes of bison crossing the road. We should have worn long pants bc we travelled through knee high scrub brush. Highlight was seeing a brown bear chase a prong horn through the scrub brush at a safe distance. The guide was very informative and entertaining. Overall definitely worth our time!

It was so exciting to see so much wildlife up close! We saw pronghorn, ground squirrels, badgers, and a lot of bison. We even had a semi-close encounter with a solitary male bison(!!) The hike itself was on the rigorous side, especially in the July heat, but our guide, Alex, did a wonderful job of keeping everyone motivated through verbal encouragement and lots of water breaks. Alex had so much knowledge about not only Yellowstone's wildlife & plant life but also the history of the park, all of which was fascinating to hear about! We got to go off-trail for a lot of the hike, so because of that, I would advise wearing pants rather than shorts, and long-sleeved shirts (despite the warm weather) to protect yourself from the long grass, bugs, and sun. Also, wear light colors!! All in all, I definitely recommend this hike if you want to get up close and personal with Yellowstone nature! And also again thank you Alex for making the hike so enjoyable!

Alex was a great tour guide and kept the hike entertaining all the way through. He was able to combine informative information about the part and it’s history along with his own personal experiences.

Really enjoyed my first hike in Yellowstone. I went solo, with Alex as my guide, and a very delightful family of 4 to round out the group. Our guide/ Alex was very knowledgeable about the plant and wildlife, geography, and Yellowstone history. He engaged everyone on the hike, making sure we had a pleasant experience. Safety was at the forefront as expected in regards to Yellowstone animals but Alex also addressed general hiking safety including making sure we were drinking water, and that we had bug spray and sunscreen applied. The lunch and snacks provided were yummy. Recommend Yellowstone Hiking Guides , and our guide Alex!

The Lamar valley is a very special place and of course the animals were, as all always the stars of the show. Mark, our guide made the experience even better, with his attention to detail and knowledge of the area. Mark was also very friendly and by the end of the day had our group all chatting together as though they were old friends. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend the trip to anyone.
