We spent a week in Switzerland, splitting our time between Interlaken and Luzern. Chris was our guide for the entirety, and really helped us see and experience Switzerland's natural beauty, outdoor activities, history, and culture. He was very accommodating finding engaging and interesting things for our pre-teen and teenage children to enjoy -- a difficult task! Chris would have a list of options and recommendations for each day, considering location and weather (and our energy levels). He had lots of great information to share as we toured around, and patiently answered the many questions we had. We had a really nice mix of city, mountain, and countryside outings. Switzerland is so so beautiful and I felt like we were able to see and do a ton. Waterfalls, chocolate, lakes, cheese, mountains, and much more. We had an unexpected rainy day and Chris pivoted immediately finding several wonderful activities for our 11 year old son: glass blowing and a chocolate factory. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed these adventures. In addition, he arranged an amazing lunch at a local restaurant knowing that I was in the restaurant business. Chris's flexibility, knowledge, and good humor made a rainy day full of "sunshine and warmth"!

Chris is awesome. You are missing out if you don’t use him. He spends the time before the tour to get to know you and tailors the day to exceed your expectations. We absolutely loved the make your own Swiss Army Knife, the ride up the mountain on the tram you can stand outside on, visited a magical waterfall and village. It was the perfect day!

This was our first visit to Switzerland and we decided to make the burgenstock near Lucerne our home base. We were so lucky to find Chris who showed us central Switzerland on a whole day tour. The weather was fantastic so we did purchase our v-bahn tickets ahead of time and were able to go up to jungfraujoch to enjoy the spectacular views and glaciers first. Lunch was efficient as he booked a table up there and with the altitude was a good way to “catch our breath”! After coming down he took us to walk through lauterbrunnen which is a lovely town with scenic views. We topped off the day with a lovely ferry ride on lake brienz and a glass of wine at giessbach falls inn. Chris is very knowledgeable and takes great care to understand what his travelers want out of the trip. We had many conversations through WhatsApp and messaging so by the time we met he felt like an old friend! We highly recommend Chris to anyone who is a novice or experienced traveler as he truly knows how to make the most out of your day at your pace. Till next time Chris!! Prost!

Chris has done excellent job to identify very personal cheese making tour that we were able to visit local farm and observed the cheese making process in addition to the excellent Interlaken famous sites visits.

Before we even left the U.S., we knew we were in good hands with Chris. By email and on the phone, he quizzed us on what we wanted to see on our tour. He listened, made suggestions and customized our experience to fit our needs. Once in Lucerne he had a plan in hand — one that evolved throughout the day. We traveled in style (a Mercedes SUV) to spectacular Mount Rigi, rode the train up and took the gondola car down. After a quick lunch back in Lucerne it was off through the exciting mountain pass to Giessbach Falls. Along the way were fascination stops and stories by Chris. It was clear he had contacts throughout the area, particularly once we reached the Grand Hotel in Griessbach and the wood carvers in Brienz. The day far exceeded our expectations and we would heartily recommend Chris as your guide throughout Switzerland.

Chris was Great! The weather did not cooperate for all of our original plans, so besides the Glassworks and Chocolate Factories, Chris developed Plan "B" and we headed to Brienz where the sun was out for the waterfalls, beautiful patio lunch at the Grand Hotel Giessbach and boat ferry across Lake Brienzersee, woodcarvers visit and walk thru a small Switzerland Village. Chris was extremely knowledgeable, attentive to everyone's concerns and very engaging for an enjoyable day. Highly recommend!

Our day with Chris was one of the highlights of our 2-week vacation in Switzerland. Chris communicated with us several months prior via teleconference to discuss what we would like to do and start planning our personalized tour. For us it was getting off the beaten path and visiting more unique places. The cute restaurant along the lake and incredible gelato from a local shop owner were two experiences we'll never forget. In addition to seeing amazing sights, Chris is a really good guy to talk to and spend the day with. We had great, insightful conversations that really helped deepen our understanding and love of Switzerland. A personalized tour with a local like Chris enriches the travel experience and is something you don't get from other mass tours or exploring on your own. If you get the chance, I highly recommend that spend some time with Chris while in Switzerland.

Chris did a great job offering to make adjustments to our tour. It was raining when he arrived and offered to move the tour to the following day. We were not able to do this so we made the best of a rainy day and we loved the cooler weather and the rain! We chose to visit the glass factory which was a bit boring. The chocolate tour likely would have been more fun. We saw some beautiful places around Lucerne and it was important to Chris that we had lunch at a great place! All in all, it was a tremendous and I would highly recommend to all!

Our limited time in Switzerland was made more special by Chris Wilson and Typically Swiss Tours. Our visit, meticulously planned by Chris met, and exceeded our expectations. Planning began about twenty months prior to our actual visit. As with many travelers, our trip was postponed multiple dates and when we finally arrived in Lucerne we were excited and ready to tour. We had multiple zoom calls with Chris along with email and text communications. Chris listened to our ideas and presented us an amazing, memorable day. We started with a short walk to Laderach Chocolate and enjoyed a sampling of specialties. Next was a scenic drive to Brunnen and the Victorinox Swiss Army Factory where we had a fun experience creating our individual, engraved Swiss Army knives. From there we ventured up Mt Rigi on the cog train. Lucerne was overcast and as the train climbed above the clouds, we were met with spectacular sunshine and amazing views from the top. The clouds dissipated and the sun shining when we made our next stop high above Lucerne with tremendous views of the lake surrounded by mountains. Our final stop of the day was an old castle on the lake with gardens and tranquil surroundings. Chris made our day very memorable and prior to dropping us at our hotel, he made dinner reservations for us at a lovely local restaurant. What a beautiful country and ths must have been the best way to see it. We were picked up by Chris in a smart Mercedes people carrier and he kept us informed and entertained all day.
