My friend and I completed the Try Dive. We were a bit apprehensive at first but the instructors made us feel so excited and comfortable straight away. The day was amazing and I’d truly recommend it to anyone. We had James, who was an incredible instructor, made us feel so safe and at ease. If in doubt - do it!!! One of the best days EVER!

Best dive shop!! Completed my open water 20 course here with my partner. Nico Martire was the best dive instructor ever. So calm and patient, extremely knowledgeable and very fun! He made the course easy and so enjoyable. Isabell and Armand were also fantastic. We were extremely lucky on our dive #3 to swim with a whale shark! After completing the course we wanted so badly to cancel the rest of our plans and stay to do our advance open water. Unfortunately we couldn’t but would 100% go back in a heart beat. RAID has all their material available online for free as well. Can’t recommend this dive shop enough! Thanks for everything

This is the best dive company on Koh Tao. I had the best time learning to dive with some of the best instructors. Ponxi was an amazing instructor for the Open Water 20 course, and then the amazing Camilla for the Advanced 30 course. They create such a warm and friendly atmosphere of learning. I also had the chance to do several Fun Dives. The Dive Masters (Ben, Camilla, and Patrizia) and Dive Master in Training (Adam) were all fantastic to dive with and made the dives so fun in and out of the water. I wish I would have found this 30 years ago. La Bombona Diving in Koh Tao can help you feel comfortable trying something new, and will hopefully make you a lifelong fan like I am now. Thank You. Had the best experience and couldn’t recommend this course enough! George was an amazing instructor who got the whole group through each step with very knowledgable, fun and relaxed teaching skills. The entire company is filled with friendly and helpful staff which made it even more enjoyable from start to finish. If you come to Koh Tao you do not want to miss out on this experience of a lifetime!

Great time completing the open water 20 course. Very relaxed vibes from the dive school, putting myself and everyone at ease. I was in a group with 2 others and our instructor George was great at explaining everything, keeping us safe and calm throughout. Highly recommended for anyone in Koh Tao.

La Bombona is THE diving school to go to on Koh Tao. The owners and staff are all super friendly and you immediately feel like part of a big family when you take a class. All my instructors were fantastic but Camilla went far over and above to help me reach my full potential as a diver. Her technical skills, knowledge and teaching abilities are truly impressive. The equipment we were provided was super high quality and seemed brand new. I originally planned on taking only one class but loved this place so much I changed my travel plans and took every class I could. Thanks La Bombona!

My boyfriend and I (from Ireland) recently completed the Open Water 20 course with LBD. After an in-depth induction by Brian, all questions are answered and we could begin our course the following day. On day 2 we were introduced to our instructor Quim who was amazing! Quim gave our group of 4 a theory lesson explaining the science behind diving. In the afternoon we undertook a pool lesson, learning how to prepare our BCD and other diving equipment. On day 3 we completed an advanced theory lesson and 2 ocean dives (up to 10 metres) and on Day 4 we did 2 ocean dives (up to 20 metres). We seen a mini cooper underwater, a ship, schools of fish and sting rays. Quim arranged for a phtographer on our final day. As an average swimmer, Quim ensured I felt fully confident and relaxed throughout the course. I cannot recommend this company enough, Brian and Quim are such lovely people, so organised and helpful. Do not look elsewhere in Thailand/Ko Tao to complete your course, we will be back to complete our advanced course ASAP. Also, trainee dive master Micha was so helpful. 10/10!!!!!

Out of all my amazing adventures on my trip to Thailand, diving at LBD was 100% the highlight. Before diving with LBD I had never dove and I never even imagined I would dive. After my experience, I can recommend it with absolute certainty. Not only is LBD situated on a beautiful resort with incredible views, you’ll also get to meet countless amazing and kind individuals who work at the dive school. The instructors did a great job making sure everyone felt comfortable and making sure no one was left behind or confused. Each day, I felt more and more comfortable with my diving skills which I can attribute to the great teaching by the excellent instructors. The first night I arrived I was even invited out for dinner at an amazing restaurant with the entire dive school to celebrate a fellow divers certification. This type of hospitality is hard to come by and I really appreciated their kindness to invite three brand new divers they had never met to such an important celebration. Overall the staff at LBD do an outstanding job making you feel welcome and happy during your time. My instructor Quim was super chill, kind, and just overall a great dude. (that goes for all the other instructors and staff as well) if you are on Ko Tao and looking to get your diving certification, do it with LBD as you’ll surely feel welcomed. I cannot stress enough how amazingly kind the people were and I am really looking forward to coming back to Ko Tao one day to get my next level of certification.

I did the 3 days Open Water course with LBD. I was a bit hesitant to do it at the start due to cost and time to complete the course however I am absolutely thrilled I decided to do it. Apart the diving being unreal, the staff (Brian, Brian’s wife and Quim) are so friendly and helpful, going above and beyond for you to have the best experience. They create a great atmosphere and even make the theory fun and interesting to learn. Special shout-out to Quim who is a lively, informative and patient guide who really makes the course something special to remember. The diving spots around Koh Tao are unreal aswell, such a variety of fish and coral. Absolute must do!

I literally can’t recommend this dive centre enough. My son who is very excitable and cheeky did his Advanced Dive Course with Stephen who was so patient and lovely with him. My son quite simply had the best time. My daughter did a bubble maker with Ernie who has definitely ignited her passion for diving. On top of that the owners and everyone else was lovely and the whole weekend was very well organised. We have found our regular dive spot and are already planning our next trip. Thanks guys. X

TL;DR - choose LBD, have fun, become a safe and confident diver. No question! 😃 -- General benefits: -multilingual team -great instructors and overall experience -located close to the pier (10min walk) -restaurant inside dive shop, and opposite -dive boat is great, boat staff are helpful and friendly -trips to a big variety of sites around Koh Tao -good quality diving equipment -- After asking around on Koh Tao for dive centre recommendations (there are a lot!) my husband and I decided to meet with one of the instructors to talk through what our options were. I was nervous to try, feeling that diving might trigger anxiety and I wouldn't enjoy it. Our instructor (Isabelle) was fantastic, explaining the options, how the course would work, no pressure at all to dive with LBD, just honestly caring about our experience more than anything else. I'm also hard of hearing / deaf, which brings its own concerns. We decided to do a Try Dive in case I hated it. Isabelle worked with me through troubles equalising my ears, and anxiety over safety techniques. I felt anxious about the diving, but totally supported by Isabelle. We chose to do the Open Water course with Isabelle, and all went smoothly. We did a few fun dives, and I felt comfortable as a newbie diver. After a while, we decided to progress to Advanced. By this time, Isabelle had left the island to visit family, so we had a new instructor. Genís led us through the Advanced course and more fun dives, and we felt even more confident. In just a few months, with the support and training from Isabelle and then Genís, we were even keen to do the next step - the Rescue course. I would never have thought that I could go from being nervous about being 6m underwater, to volunteering to be attacked by a "panicked diver" (practicing to rescue others) or to simulate losing my equipment while being "attacked" (practicing self rescue). That is the power of good instructors, and we are both so unbelievably grateful to both of them. Throughout our entire diving journey, we also had the support of dive shop owners Rocio and Bryan, who are both so enthusiastic about giving their students the best experience. Whether you're nervous and want to take things slow, like I did, or you'd rather launch yourself straight at the water and become a Divemaster, they will take the time to speak with you and make sure you get the best experience. The entire team surpassed my expectations by a country mile, and we've come away with the experience of a lifetime. Really hoping to come back soon to dive with them again 😃

We have now done our open water, advanced and rescue all with LBD. It's a great team with lots of experience; they keep it safe and keep it fun, which is a rare combination. The equipment is all new, the boat is 5 minutes walk past Da's (best sandwich around) and 7/11 so you can stock up, and the main building also houses Juicy Burger, so you get a nice meal from there or Bambam just over the road when you get back; both are very good.. Everything in one place! Currently it's a 'Spanish' dive center with English, Canadian and German students, so no language barriers (I guess they also speak spanish too, 😂). Great dive center and highly recommended! Ps: The main instructor can draw an amazing pirate ship... Please remember to ask him to draw one for you ;)

I came to Koh Tao to pass my Open Water and ended up doing both Open Water AND Advanced. Diving is so addictive and if you are surrounded by great professionals it makes it even more pleasant! Rocio and Bryan the owners of the school are the nicest people and Genis, my instructor, was very knowledgeable, patient and fun! I met Spanish, German, Canadian, Scottish and French instructors during my « covid-19 stay » so I can recommend this school to any international traveler! I already miss you LBD team, you are the best team and I wish you great success. I will be back ! Allez y les yeux fermés !

We had an amazing time at LBD. The dive center is so professional with a staff that is really kind and has a lot of knowledge about diving and marine life. We were privileged to use the newest equipment, a Wing BCD, which helpes you to get neutrally buoyant more easily. Thank you LBD and our instructor Tom Schluessler for a great fun week diving! His enthousiasm, experience and positive way of teaching really got us addicted to diving.

I completed my diving license today and it was awesome. The people at lbd are nice and offer help at any point. Nicole was a great instructor, felt safe diving with her and had a lot of fun. Can highly recommend lbd koh tao!
