Not as hoped:( We asked for historical information from our guide and he really never talked very much at all. Cherry blossoms were not yet out, so that wasn't his fault. He just led us to trains and areas to look around. No discussions. We could have done this on our own. We had to pay several train tickets and admission to a major attractions, including his ticket! We were not told about buying guides stuff! It was over in 3 hrs when we asked why he was not showing us more for our 4 hours. Then he scrambled to walk us to a couple more places, but no discussion. I reported to City Unscripted and they were very responsive and arranged for a 50 % refund. Nice guide but not talkative, which is their #1 job! I know City Unscripted will use this to improve their services and we definitely use them again!!

We had a fun day with Taiga as our guide in Kobe. We loved his flexibility and sense of humor. He arranged a last minute, delicious Kobe beef lunch for us at his favorite place.

Toru was an amazing guide. He picked us up at the cruise terminal and took us around the sights such as China Town, Meriken Park & Nunobiki Herb Garden Park. We’ve accomplished quite a bit for this half day tours. At the end of our tour, Toru showed us a great place to enjoy Kobe Beef. We were glad our guide was knowledgeable & we highly recommend esp. if you have limited time.

Our guide Hirotake gave us an unforgettable day in Kobe, helping us move smoothly through the busy city streets and the subway system and up into the hills to the exquisite Nunobiki Botanical Herb Gardens where we rode a cable car past waterfalls and the last of the cherry tree blossoms. Arriving we spent the afternoon strolling through beautiful flowers, ranging from fields of tulips to greenhouses of tropical plants like the ones in our gardens in Kaua’i and the fruits and vegetables native to Japan. Returning to the city, our new friend Hiro, who spoke perfect English, brought us to a unique popup seafood restaurant where we cooked fresh oysters 🦪 over a tableside hibachi for a delicious inexpensive feast. Thank you Viatour for a beautiful day in Kobe that we will never forget.

Great day touring Kobe with Michelle. We visited 2 shrines, Chinatown and numerous areas of the city center. Having lived in the US, Michelle was easy to communicate with. At the end of the walking tour, Michelle suggested a very good restaurant to have Kobe beef.

Do to my father's mobility limitations, our tour guide Hiro fully customized the plan to reduce the amount of walking. We ended up visiting Chinatown and taking a Kobe harbor boat tour and enjoying various snacks, which were all very tasty. He shared lots of local insights and we discussed many things. He also gave us tips on other things to do after the tour, including Kobe beef restaurant recommendations.

Great tour and tour guide! Tour was perfectly tailored for me. My interests were eating, shopping and learning about Kobe and it's people. We had a great lunch at a Kobe beef restaurant, toured some great shops and went on a cruise. Highly recommend this tour!

Keiko was our personal guide during our tour and we are very satisfied with her level of professionalism and commitment to what she is doing. Almost one month before our planned visit to Kobe, she began to correspond with us to know more about our expectations and our desires regarding the visit. It was very important to us that our guide interacted with us ahead of our trip to Kobe since 1)we only had a half-day to discover the town 2)it is our first time visit and maybe the last one as travelling from our country to Japan is a very expensive trip. Keiko planned everything according to our desires and our visit went smoothly on the scheduled date even though it was raining most of the time. These were the highlights of our visit: the old foreign areas on the hills, the Herb Garden that was accessed with a ropeway, the Meriken Park, the point of the impact of the 1995 earthquake and the luxurious department stores alley. Using the public transport (bus) was an interesting experience for us. Keiko took us back to the Kobe Shinkansen station and guided us to the Kobe Beef Gallery that we would have not missed. Our warmest thanks to Keiko for having helped us to know more about Kobe in a very short time and for having welcomed us into her hometown. The concept of having a local as a guide is very important and reassuring for any (inter)national visitor to an unknown and resilient town, such as Kobe. Best wishes to Keiko. Hope to meet her again in the future.

We were extremely happy with the appointed local tour guide Mr. Hiroki Katsuno in Kobe. He was very helpful and gave us many informations about the city. Special thanks to him for his kindness and warm hospitality.

We could have done this ourselves. Expensive for what was provided, Just walking around, mainly shopping areas, a temple and Chinatown. It did not help that the agency office never answered phone calls from us or our local guide. (We were unable to email them as we were in China prior to Japan.) The guide was very nice but new to the job.

We successfully met our guide, Keiko, as arranged and she was a delightful guide to aspects of Kobe that we would never have considered. We started with the old foreign quarter and then took the rope way up to the Herb Garden. We used public transport to get us about and again Keiko was able to navigate us successfully from place to place. We finished in the ”MERIKEN Park” and were impressed by the memorial to the Earthquake. After an enjoyable four hours Keiko helped us to find our way back to the cruise terminal using the free shuttle. A truly enjoyable and informative tour.
