We had fun at theKnappogue Castle Medieval Banquet! It's not serious, so just enjoy the night. We started with a cup of mead, honey wine- too sweet for me, and lively entertainment in the great hall. There was plenty of food and drink all night long. The night was good entertainment!

This was one of our stops as part of our CIE bus tour of Ireland. It was truly one of most memorable experiences we had in Ireland. The castle grounds are picturesque and the interior dining area was truly a medieval experience. The wine flowed endlessly and the food was delicious. But the entertainment...WOW!! This is what we came to Ireland to see. Traditional Irish singing and dancing. The show blew me away. This is one stop not to miss.

I attended the banquet in Knappouge Castle on 22/8/23 with my partner and I can say I was NOT disappointed in the slightest. As you come through the gates you get the real isolated feel of a proper medieval castle. After arriving we took a stroll around the grounds and the beautiful walled garden before we went to the castle for the evening to begin. From the moment we were greeted at the door by the castle entertainers the experience had begun, on the night we were treated to a surprise and made a king and queen of Munster for the night. The entertainers brought us into the castle to a mead reception where you could hear the fiddle and harpist playing in the main hall which just made it a real castle experience. The characterization of the entertainers was 10/10 from the moment we arrived and this continued throughout the entire night. After being led to the top table the entertainers began the night by explaining the running of the show, again the professionalism along with the comedic references used had the entire crowd laughing. The food was so nice I had to finish my partner's plate as she was too full to eat anymore. The free wine given to you throughout definitely helped me here. The show commenced and I was out of my seat after each scene/song giving a standing ovation as it was very much deserved for the talent displayed by each and every person on stage from musician to dancer to singer. I did not want the night to end and felt a sadness when it did as I could have watched them all sing and entertain us all night long. The main reason I would recommend this to everyone of all ages is simply the staff. How you are treated by each and every person is to the highest degree. Every person I dealt with was kind, attentive to us at our table and made us smile and laugh from start until finish. They really deserve all the credit for the experience we had. And finally, it is a great feeling to be called ''My King/My lord'' or ''My Queen/My Lady'' each time it brings a smile to your face and even more so makes you join in more and get involved. If you have not been i would highly recommend an evening in Knappouge Castle, I will certainly be going back again.

Music, singing and dancing were great. Plenty of humour. The players are all talented, charming and made every effort to ensure guests had a lovely experience. I was surprised by how nice the food was. I loved it.

Having experienced both the Knoppogue Castle and the Bunratty Castle banquettes I have to say that the Knappogue experience is the winner in both the quality of the food and the entertainment! We plan on adding that to our guests tours of West Clare.

Loved this experience! Entertainment, dancing, music, and food were definitely worthwhile! Drink mead (honeyed wine) or juice. Soup, salad, grain bread and chicken gave a glimpse of how banquets were celebrated!

It has been such a long time since I attended a themed evening like this. It was a night of fun, food and frivolity with a four-course meal, bottomless red and white wine jugs, audience participation and singing and dancing with music provided by a talented harpist and violinist.

What a fun evening. From the mead greeting throughout the evening we were transformed to the middle ages. Getting to be King and Queen of the evening was a special treat, but our whole group enjoyed the evening. The musicians were quite talented and the dancer was fantastic. Loved the harpist and violinist. All this and good food too. Recommend it for sure.

Had a Great time. Beautiful area. The car park was flooded so we couldn't see the gardens. Everyone was very friendly.

My husband and I really enjoyed the music, dancing and delicious food. The young ladies' voices were lovely and Connor a great Irish dancer. The harpist and violinist added beautifully to the evening. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Dinner service was amazingly fast. The host of the evening was talented and made the whole program jolly. Didn't think we'd like the mead but it was very good.

A fun night at a more remote castle. The show was marvelous and very entertaining. We were greeted by the royalty of the castle who gave us a cup of mead. The dinner was delicious and well timed. We loved the humor, music and dance which brought the evening to a close at 2130. So glad we included this in our itinerary.

This was a part of our tour with CIE and I enjoyed the music, food, beverages and entertainment. The dancers and singers were fabulous. One could imagine being a part of the festivities centuries ago.

Came here as part of our land tour with Gate1. We had a really good time with all the role playing and music going on. The MC was fantastic as were the musicians, singers and the male tap dancer. They serve a honey wine which is probably ok as a desert wine, and also a white and red in pots, which leaves something to be desired. Unfortunately no beer, cocktails or any other wines. Food was good as was the service, well worth doing.

The Bunratty Castle dinner was sold out and the reviews for this were very good so I went ahead and booked it. I am so glad I did. The experience was great fun for the family and it felt less crowded and intimate than the other would have been. The dancing and music was great. The food was also very nice. A surprise since I was not expecting much. The couple we sat next to was staying at the castle. It is available for rent on Arbnb. I wish I had known that!! Seems like another fun idea. I highly recommend this dinner/banquet.

I have visited several of the castles for their feasts, usually on my last night in Ireland. This year I was able to getr reservations in Knappogue Castle and am glad I did. I think this was the best show I have seen in the castles. Similar to what I saw back over 40 years ago but still I think the best of the castle shows I have seen.

This was listed as an option in our Royal Irish Tour and so very glad we went. Our group had a super fun time. Our guide nominated the perfect gent as our King and matched our Queen well too. They were such good sports. I loved the mead. Wished we had more of it. The meal was unexpectedly good. They quickly substituted melon for the smoked salmon for my hubby and the chicken was well cooked and not dry. Plenty of food and wine. The smoked salmon was good, the tomato basil soup even better. Then the entertainment! Irish Harp, violinist and vocals and super stepping from the young man who’s part escapes me now but loved it all. Worth the cost. A little off the beaten path for us as we were in Bunratty for the night but well worth the short drive.

Staying in Ennis for a couple days and wanted to take my wife to a medieval banquet. Originally tried for an early show at Bunratty but only had one ticket for day and time I wanted. Knappogue had several and so bought tickets for there. Left B&B early enough to stop by and look at Dromoland Castle and quick stop at Quin Abbey all close by. We arrived and strolled around the ground until they opened the doors. After a cup of mead, some music, and a little history of the Castle we were seated in the banquet hall. Had great food, wonderful music, entertainment (dancing and singing). I’ve been to Bunratty twice before and glad I choose Knappogue this time. More intimate crowd and just as good. Good job, highly recommend.

Lots of fun an appropriate merriments for a medieval banquet. It includes wonderful harp playing, harmonic singing, timely skits and some River dancing. The food is fine and suits the era.
