Great experience thanks to the staff and the crew. They were amazing. Right from initial contact 6 months prior to the trek to the time of return / departure, they were proactive, responsive, caring, professional and expert.

tl;dr Had an amazing time on and off the mountain: guides were very knowledgeable and set a perfect pace. The support team was incredible: food was delicious, tents and gear always arrived ahead of time waiting for you at camps, and logistics, in general, were very well managed and executed. I felt very cared for, and I could tell the team wanted climbers to succeed. I would highly recommend Altezza: it felt like a world-class operation. Before the trip, I arranged everything more or less via email with my manager Anna. She was very professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, and quick to respond. I would encourage you to listen to your manager's advice in general: for my initial itinerary, I was to arrive late at night before the first day. Anna flagged this as a bad idea, so I adjusted my flights to have an extra rest day. Very flag I did it, and likely contributed to summit success. I stayed at the main Altezza site/office in Moshi before and right after the climb. The hotel was good: nice restaurant, nice rooms, and very friendly staff. Sometimes the doors to rooms were a bit noisy, but I can't think of any other complaints. They are well equipped here with rental gear as well, should you need it. The drive to the gate was fun: you got to see some countryside and smaller towns, and the bus had Wi-Fi. A nice lunch was prepared when we reached the gate, then a final short drive to the trailhead. Our group started off with 10 people, and we merged with other smaller groups along the way (eventually reaching 15 people). The tents were sturdy; a pretty thick foam pad is also included for you. The campsites were nicely organized and clean (but this trip was during the low season). I settled into and really enjoyed the climb routing, and it ran like clockwork: hot tasty breakfast early, health check, hike, tea break, hike, lunch, hike, tea break, dinner, health check, sleep. I learned a lot from the guides as they led us up the mountain, and I found the pace just right. I was so impressed with how efficiently all the gear was moved from camp to camp. After slogging through so many climbs in California and the Pacific Northwest lugging my own pack/group gear, it was a luxury only to have to carry a day pack and then be greeted by a fully assembled personal tent and cozy group mess tent. Summit day was long, but you will have an amazing team (with 1:1 coverage) supporting you the entire time. Morale was boosted with songs and positive chat. Definitely the trip of a lifetime and amazing memories to reflect back on. The only hiccup I experienced was with my checked luggage: it was delayed one day, and two items went missing (I did not use any locks). Fortunately, rental gear was provided to avoid an interruption in my itinerary.

I cannot say enough good things about this company. From the initial planning to the transfer back to the airport, Altezza Travel was amazing. As you plan your trek with them, they are available to answer all questions, incredibly organized and flexible with changes. Everything was on time and exactly as planned. They own their own hotel, so all the rental gear is there, you can leave behind valuables and large bags for no additional charge (they are very meticulous about caring for your valuables, I was not concerned at all). Basically, everything can be accomplished at the hotel, it makes it very seamless and easy. The room are good, breakfast is included and the property is well taken care of. They have a small gym and a pool. The service they provided for the trek exceeded expectations. We had 3 guides and 30 porters for 7 of us. The equipment was in good shape and top of the line. The porter's equipment was also good quality. (Some of the budget companies do not take care of their porters). The food they provided was outstanding. Pancakes and eggs for breakfast, soup and chicken or beef dishes with rice, vegetables and fruit for lunch and dinner. Many condiments, peanut butter, jelly, Nutella, etc. Hot tea and even popcorn as an appetizer. They had no problem catering to special diets and that food was amazing as well. We ate in a large tent at one big table with regular chairs, a table cloth, and plates and silverware, very civil. The guides were incredibly knowledgeable and perceptive. They were very proactive about trying to keep us healthy. They watched everyone pretty closely and offered assistance if they saw you starting to struggle. We were briefed everyday on what to expect for the following day. They took the time to answer all questions and always asked for input on our plan. Everyday we are woken up with hot tea brought to the tent, nice touch. Half way though some of the day hikes they would set up a tea and biscuit table in the middle of the trail where we would stop to take a break, that was a nice touch as well. Summit night is incredibly strenuous. These are the guides that you want to assist you. They will carry your pack if need be, motivate you the whole way up and down and basically take care of you any way that they can. Altezza had two other groups of 14 people that started the same day as us, EVERYONE SUMMITED, all 35 people. That was impressive. We added on a three day safari and that service was top notch as well. The accommodations that they booked for us were really unbelievable, very nice. The vehicle was comfortable with Wi-Fi available and a refrigerator. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Couple of recommendations. Rent the private toilet. This is a game changer. Getting up in the middle of the night and having it right there was very convenient and the public ones were usually a hole in the ground, far from the camp. Bring snacks, bars, trail mix, etc. You don't need a thermos, some sites I read say to have one, not necessary. 5 in our group took Diamox, 2 did not, everyone summited, it's a personal choice. On a final note, I wrote an email with a couple of suggestions, and received an immediate response directly from the owner of Altezza Travel. Their customer service is bar none! This group really cares about their guests and you will be in the best hands.

We couldn’t praise the Altezza team more highly. From initial contact and all throughout the booking process it was all so easy and responses were so rapid, it made the whole process very stress free and reassuring. On the climb itself we couldn’t praise our team enough - the guides, porters and entire team were outstanding, so kind and made the trip an absolutely amazing one. The team truly go above and beyond to make the trek enjoyable, and they were so dedicated to helping everyone summit safely - our entire group made it, thanks to the entire amazing mountain team (48 people for 10 of us!) All the equipment (tents, private toilet etc) and rental gear was excellent quality also.

Our entire crew - guides (Eli and Albert), porters, support staff were the BEST! They were so committed to getting us to the summit! They took care of our mental and physical well-being! Best experience ever!

First of all i would like to mention the company cooperation during my planning and preparation process for my vacation, they were highly helpful and supportive, reply all my questions so quickly and efficiently. Since my arrival they welcomed me at the airport, and drive me to the hotel. In the Next day they came to me and checked my stuff and equipment and they were so helpful and professional. During the hiking days the chef guide and other guides were so professional, supportive and friendly. Whatever we needed was there for us as i said to the guides they were like “Aladdin genie” their efforts was impressive. Whenever we arrived to the camp our camp has the best spot well prepared our meals are ready and our tents were well set and our duffle bags in our tents. While hiking we had breaks to have snacks and our breaks were well arranged and comparing with others our breaks were the best. I can’t write everything here but they were the best. They made our experience magnificent.

We booked our Meru, Kilimanjaro (Rongai) and Safari trips with Altezza at short notice. From the very beginning, the communication from Sophia at Altezza was very efficient, seamless with lots of sound, practical advice and guidance, leaving us feeling in very good hands. The whole experience from start to finish was incredibly efficient. On both Meru and Kili, our expedition crew from porters to cooks and guides, all were superb - very friendly, efficient, helpful and extremely professional. On Safari, our driver and guide, Elisha was excellent in every way. He worked hard to ensure we got the best safari experience and exceeded our expectations of seeing an incredible array of animals. Pick-ups, transfers and all logistics were well organised and seamless. All the Altezza staff at the Aishi Machame were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly Agnes who helped us out. Aishi Machame hotel staff were excellent and helpful. The whole trip has exceeded our expectations and we cannot recommend Altezza strongly enough. A great organisation in every way! I wish I could capture all my emotions in words about this trip. I would highly recommend planning and doing this trip with Altezza. They are truly the best of the best and this is not an exaggeration. From the start of the trip (the planning phase), to the end of the trip - absolutely everything was done perfectly. And their Service is exceptional. They really make sure you have the best trip, and take care of all the small and big things that you need for this trip to be successful. A huge shoutout to my planning manager Denis who answered all of my questions and made me comfortable about this trip. I cannot say enough about our climbing guides Joseph, Julius, Jackson and Khatib. Absolutely exceptional in ensuring you're safe while also making sure you're having a great time. Every single day is planned for you, and there's very little you will have to worry about. The porters, chefs, others provide you with exceptional service with a smile. I cannot say more positive things about them. I'd like to specifically also mention our Kitchen staff Munir and Ellie - our shoe shiners, Emmanuel and Denis for taking so much care of us. It honestly felt like such an organized and hearty experience. Altezza will go out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and celebrate with you as well. I'm not sure how the price compares to other companies, but they are worth every penny. I also wish I could have tipped more to the porters and guides because they really do so much. I have just returned from a successful climb of Kilimanjaro and can highly recommend Altezza Travel as the best company to complete the climb. Right from my initial emails to them, they (Vita) were very responsive and made sure I was fully aware of all the things I needed to consider before paying my deposit. They provide you with a huge amount of information that you need, to make sure you are prepared for the adventure and their website and guidance pages are so easy to use. Once in Tanzania, their team makes sure that you’ve brought everything you need with you OR will make sure what you’ve rented fits properly. I would certainly recommend using their rented gear as it is all very good quality and kept me warm at the summit! We stayed at the Aishi Machame hotel which is a super boutique type hotel on the edge of the jungle. The pool is a great place to relax before and after your climb. The Altezza guides and porters did a fantastic job of making sure my team of 13 people all kept well and hydrated throughout the whole climb. Breakfast and a three-course lunch and dinner is provided and the food is all good quality and well cooked – including the popcorn that we got at the end of each day! A morning tea break with biscuits was also a welcome rest on the trek. Our Team Guide, Richard and his team were superb and made sure every person reached the summit. Everyone had a twice-daily health check and Diamox (altitude medicine) was supplied by the team. In addition to all of the above, my wife was sent a GPS link so that she could track our way to the summit and down. Thanks to Altezza, I always felt in very safe hands. Everyone I met from the company was very very helpful and wanted you to make the most of your adventure. It really is a company that prides itself on customer service. I will definitely be going back to Altezza but next time for a safari holiday.

I cannot see how this adventure could be improved on in anyway. The communication prior to departure was excellent allowing us to arrive in Tanzania confident we were ready to begin. Once on the walk, the hard work of the support staff made everyone in the team feel welcome and safe at all times, which helped to facilitate an unforgettable experience. The guides (Albert, Victor, Joseph, Simon to name a few) were professional and friendly to a level far exceeding any expectations. They cared for each of us individually ensuring we were in good health and spirts as we climbed. They wouldn’t hesitate to take our bags, give up their kit or water to us if needed, or anything else that would help to keep us more comfortable or safe. The food was always good and in healthy portions, there were always hot drinks available and plenty of other additional comforts the staff supplied. I cannot recommend this enough.

Our 7 day summit of Mt Kilimanjaro was incredible - end to end, the staff was responsive, the guides were so fun & intuitively supportive of us throughout the climb, the food on the mountain was amazing. Through talking with the guides, it’s true how well treated both the porters and the guides are. A once-in-a-lifetime adventure requires an excellent attention to detail and this checks off all of the items. Highly, highly recommend!

Celebrated my 18th birthday on the mountain. Altezza's service was exceptional, from the big things like medical checks, food, safety, to the tiniest like dusting our shoes and gaiters when arriving at camp, a wonderful specially delivered birthday cake, and little tea breaks on the way that other hikers were envious of! :D The crew was amazing, we didn't feel like clients but instead like fellow Tanzanian brothers and sisters.
