A fabulous small boat trip with more personalized than a big tour. Adam and Brendan were helpful with first tip snorkelers and provided extra support and encouragement. The quick geographical tour on the way back was interesting. The boat itself was a fun way to quickly speed to the snorkeling site.

We had a great trip with Sea Quest. We were on the cruise ship and decided to book with this company to snorkel at Captains Cook in the morning. We had to be the first ones off the ship to do this excursion. We love snorkeling at Captains cook. In addition on the way there we saw a manta ray, dolphins, a pod of whales and two hammerhead sharks. When we jumped in the water at Captains Cook there was a pod of dolphins swimming under the boat! We would definitely do a trip with this company again.

We were taken to two snorkel spots and both were fantastic with lots of beautiful fish. Some would give you the side eye to check you out but they were all good hosts. I wish I remembered the two guys that were the captains of the boat as they did an excellent job. It was a great and memorable day. I’d do it again when I come back!

Brendan and Skyler were amazing! They took the time to not only go over the snorkeling basics they also were knowledgeable about the island. We were able to see so many different fish. We were able to see dolphins in a few different spots. Definitely a must-do!

This excusion took us to one of the best snorkel spots we've ever been to. The water was crystal clear and we saw so many varieties of fish. Our guides were fantastic. They provided great equipment and were full of interesting information to share with the group. We even loved the boat ride out to the spot and on the way back, our guides took us to the caves along the shoreline. Don't miss this one - it was one of our favorites.

Our captain and first mate were awesome!! Our captain was funny and super knowledgeable of the area and explaining a first time snorkler how to snorkle. She took us to Captain Cooks and the reefs and fish were amazing. You had lots of time to enjoy and even come back to the boat for snacks. I would highly recommend this to a first timer and for families. They provide flotation vests which made it so nice to just float and not get worn out. On the way back, we toured the coast and she explained so much about the history and geography of the coast. It was an awesome experience!!!

The check-in and boarding process went smoothly, and our ride to the bay went well. Within a few minutes of arriving, we were in the water surrounded by coral and an abundance of marine wildlife. We enjoyed over an hour of snorkeling, then we re-boarded the boat for snacks and drinks while Captain Brendan gave us a tour of the bay. Darcy (first mate) saw to our every need. The trip back to the marina was also enjoyable, with Brendan making stops here & there to point out lava tubes, lava formations, cinder cones, and talk about the area in general (history, legends). I highly recommend this tour! Brendan and Darcy were fantastic guides!

Amazing snorkeling experience led by a fantastic crew: Darcy and Skyler! A couple of days before the tour I got a call from SeaQuest folks who wanted to check-in in case I had any questions. As a result, my end-to-end experience was seamless. Special kudos go to Darcy and Skyler! They not only helped our group along the way, but they also were knowledgeable about the area and very fun to spend time with! As a bonus, Skyler offered some pointers for local restaurants - thank you! I cannot recommend this experience (and the crew) highly enough! This is one of the best investments you can make while on the Big Island.

Perfect Snorkeling Adventure. We booked a snorkeling trip to Captain Cook Monument and were completely pleased. Our adventure started once we boarded the boat. We were given loads of historical information to start our journey and viewed beautiful sights. Once at the Cook Monument, we snorkeled at the reef for about an hour and a half. The reef held wondrous beauties, including; a baby sea turtle, beautiful fish, eels, lobsters, octopi, and other sea creatures. We boarded the vessel and were greeted with fresh fruit plates, local chip varieties, and Hawaiian juices. The snacks were refreshing and were perfect for replenishing our energy. We then took off to hear Hawaiian tales and see historical and natural sights. These sights included Hawaiian Cliff Burial Sites, Pele, the goddess of fire, and other beautiful canyons, bluffs, and creations. It was a wonderful trip full of education and fun for all ages!

I've been on many snorkel tours and this one was the smoothest and most relaxing ever. Steve, our captain, was very knowledgeable and interesting about local wildlife, geology, and history (and I'm a biologist myself, so I'm not easily impressed!) Courtney did a fabulous job taking care of us -- she kept better track of my belongings than I did. The water was very calm and clear that day and lots of fish by the Captain Cook Monument. I couldn't have asked for a better trip!

We booked the Captain Cook snorkel on a whim, because we were already driving down from north of the airport to do the manta rate, night snorkel, and decided to make a day of it. Brendan and MJ were our crew and they were fantastic. We were lucky enough to be on a small, zodiac style boat with only one other family. My sons age is nine, 12, 15 thought the boat ride was the most incredible experience of their lives. It was fast and bouncy and very adventurous. My nine-year-old referred to it as “action boating“. Our family has snorkeled many amazing places in the world, and the captain Cook monument is quite impressive. Clearwater, amazing variety of sea life, and Brendan was so knowledgeable about the area. After the snorkeling, we made our way back to the dock, but stopped at multiple sites along the way to view the stunning lava coastline of the big island, I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys snorkeling and has a little bit of adventurous spirit. For our family, it was a great fit.

Capt. Brendon and MJ were incredible. The whole process was logistically smooth. I had everything I needed and enjoyed it tremendously. The crew was great but the tour was just perfect for our family. Super happy we did it!

Had a wonderful time with family and friends! Sea Quest is one of our favorite charters to go on when we are on the Big Island of Hawaii. Had a beautiful day to go snorkeling at Captain Cooks Bay, and enjoyed seeing the ocean creatures and fish. We recommend this company for any snorkeling experience because the people are friendly and go out of their way to make your experience fun. They provide the gear if you don't have your own, non-alcoholic drinks and snacks after a snorkel, which is most appreciated! The groups are not to large so people are NOT packed in like sardines on the boats. Plenty of room to store items where they won't get wet. A fun ride along the coast with the crew giving interesting info on the Hawaiian land & people.

From the start, this company was very professional and knowledgable. I loved the gift shop where you check in. The snorkelling was in a covered bay and was pretty cool. I really loved the rock caves on the way back to the marina. Overall a great day.

This tour was one of the best things I did during my trip. It was a small group (only 10 people). On the way to snorkeling, our boat driver gave us a whale watching tour. We were able to see 3 humpbacks -- a mama with her newborn calf and a male who was repeatedly breaching and doing tail slaps! Then we had a pod of dolphins swim by our boat. When we got to the bay, he briefly gave us the interesting history of Captain Cook. We had just the right amount of time to snorkel (90 minutes). I saw coral, many different kinds of fish, and a couple of eels. We got back on the boat for a nice selection of snacks (including fresh fruit), then did a tour of the coastal caves and sea arches on the way back. I highly recommend this outing!

This was one of our favorite excursions. There were so many different types of fish to see and we had plenty of time to swim around and explore. We even caught a glimpse of an eagle ray toward the end of our trip! Our guides were fantastic and very knowledgeable about the island and its history. They also took us through a nice scenic tour up the coast on our way back to the marina, during which, we were followed by some spinner dolphins who wanted to play. I highly recommend this excursion.

The snorkeling was amazing. One of the best, if not the best, snorkeling trip we have taken. The array of fish was great. The equipment was great. We had Steve (captain) and Courtney. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and would highly recommend.

Captain Brandon & skipper Courtney were awesome tour guides. Loved the boat ride to:from the snorkeling bay. Perfect water temperature, good assortment of fish and coral to view. I brought my own wetsuit long sleeve top which kept me warm and allowed me to stay in the water longer. They have short sleeve tops to rent for $22. Brandon showed us interesting details close up in the lava mountain face from the water from the boat. Highly recommend this snorkeling trip!

Our captain Brendan and his crew Caitlin and Darcy (apologies for spelling errors) were great hosts. Brendan knows his stuff and was constantly providing interesting tidbits of information. On the way out, Brendan stopped several times so we could watch whales from a respectful distance while he described the behavior we were seeing. Once at Cook everyone took the time to ease any concerns any of us had about swimming in the ocean. They were genuinely pleased to hear we saw a sea turtle — which is somewhat rare in that part of the harbor — and the water was stunningly clear. It’s a small boat: there were a total of 8 of us on the tour which I enjoyed. As we were leaving Cook, a considerably larger boat from another company arrived and dropped what looked like 40 or 50 snorkelers into the water.
