My husband and I spent a few hours on a beautiful fall day kayaking in Bowman Bay. The guided tour was exceptional with Emma as our guide. Although we have kayaked in single kayaks before, this was our first experience in a tandem kayak. The boat felt safe and sturdy and Emma was patient in giving us tips about paddling and working together. We were able to see a few blue herons and other birds. We also paddled into a secret cove. Such a gorgeous area. The Anacortes tour is well worth your time and is a great way to spend a few hours. It was the highlight of our trip to the Pacific Northwest!

I recently took 40 Girl Scouts out on the 90 minute tour from Bowman Bay. It was the first sea-kayak experience for most. Our guides Jay and Tim were very thorough in reviewing all the safety pieces, were extremely patient with the teenagers, and when the wind picked up guided us all to safety. Thank YOU for not only a fun experience, but also the seal sightings and the salty sea kelp snacks. We'll be back.

It was a perfect day of sunshine! The view was spectacular on land and on the water. Quinn, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly, help, and extremely patient. It was our first time kayaking, but he Made us feel comfortable and safe. We saw seals sun bathing on a rock. Deception State Park is must see with it’s glorious views!

We took the bioluminescence tour at sunset. We saw so much wildlife--porpoises, seals and birds--and the bioluminescence is magical! Our guide, Quinn, did a great job sharing stories, history and facts about the area. We like to do things on our own more often than through a tour, but as we were coming from out of town, the convenience of jumping in a rented boat with all the accessories and having a guide who knew where to go and was familiar with the currents was perfect.

My wife and I decided this kayak tour would be a fun way to get out of the house for an afternoon. It was well worth it. Emma, our guide, was great. Super friendly and knowledgeable about the local species. We will definitely be back for some of their longer trips.

We thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking trip! We went with a group of 11 during our camping trip at Deception Pass State Park. It was great for all the ages we had: 4-11 year old kiddos and all us grownups. Not only was guide verbally engaging throughout (the safety demonstration, the time on the water, and getting back up onto land), Blake took his time making sure all guests felt comfortable and heard. He took us into the beautiful waters around the park—through kelp forests, up next to rocky cliffs and small islands, describing wildlife, plant life, and geographic features. We saw a moon jellyfish, porpoises, oystercatchers, decorator crabs, great blue herons, and best of all, Blake steered us near (but not too close!) to a group of harbor seals that included 2 pups! All were delighted. He patiently answered the questions of the kids. As a parent, I really appreciated how he gave responses, asked questions in return, admitted when he didn’t know something, and gave ideas for future research once home—great modeling for our young ones. This was a fab excursion for our group, just the right amount of time during our camping trip. Thanks so much!

Accommodating, helpful, and friendly staff members. Our guide was great, both pointing out naturalist features and giving us kayaking tips. We had four adults and one 12-year-old. Everyone enjoyed themselves and would go back. There is something magical about being on the water, so close to the sea life we could see growing on the rocks or, in the case of seals, swimming up to us to check us out!

Great time ! Leo was our guide . He made the trip easy and is well informed about the area . He kept and eye out for wild life so we didn't miss the seals eagle and misc birds around .

Our family appreciated Nate's calm demeanor which was perfect for our first time sea kayaking. It was a magical experience to be out there on the water enjoying all the beautiful scenery.

In addition to a gorgeous afternoon on the water, our guide Tim shared so much history of the area, knowledge of the wildlife and marine life. We saw flying salmon, seals, otters, and many types of birds. We even tried the kelp! It was a great activity to do with our friends that were visiting from the desert.

We were late for our reservation due to miscommunication in directions to get to the kayak rental place, so the guide had to leave without us. I called and explained and the rep was incredibly snippy with me. I asked for credit to reschedule and she said she “might” get back to me, but she doubted the owner would give me credit towards a future trip. That was 3 days ago. I haven’t heard from them. Terrible customer service skills. I don’t recommend this company. Know before you go.

Great experience. Guide was excellent and patient. He helped when needed and was very attentive. We felt safe and watched while 4 of us tried sea kayaking for the first time. Thank you.

My friends and I were visiting Anacortes before we head to Friday harbor and decided to experience Deception Pass in a new way! We found Anacortes Kayak Tours on trip advisor and had the best evening with our guide Ben! We would say we are beginner kayakers and Ben made every step easy to follow and made sure we were safe and having fun. We saw everything from 2 bald eagles to a purple starfish, to 3 playful otters following us in to the docking area at the end. Unforgettable evening! Thanks again!

The equipment was good however I wasn’t expecting to steer the kayak with my feet. I never really got the hang of steering the kayak. Our guide was very patient and pointed out some interesting points of interest.

Directions were excellent; it was easy to find AKT. We had a delightful conversation with talented nature photographer Toshi while our guide Ryan set up the gear. Ryan proved very knowledgeable about local flora and fauna, and about the geology of the area. We were able to get close to porpoises who we think didn't sense us with their echolocation because we were sitting in the middle of a bed of sea kelp. Stunningly beautiful area. Ryan was delightful. Would be happy to do a longer tour.

It was my first time going Kayaking in Deception Pass and i love it!! The toir guide was very informative snd made me feel safe and relax.

We went on the three hour bioluminescence tour with Ryan and it was magical! As always, AKT’s guide, efficient and safe set up was top notch. I take visiting family and friends out with them at least a couple of times every summer and have never been disappointed. This was our first time out of Bowman bay and it was so well organized. I really appreciated that the kayaks were right there and we didn’t have to do any hauling (especially in the dark afterward) Their marina location is equally easy. Boats already in the water so it makes the most of your time. The real value however lies in their professional and knowledgeable guides. I’ve been with people who have never kayaked and the guides are so calm and encouraging! Just the best experience.

Margaret was our guide. She was helpful and knowledgeable. She made this a fun experience. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone! Time FLEW by.

This is an amazing activity for families! We have 2 young children who wanted to try kayaking. This was the perfect amount of time. We saw a harbor seal, oyster catchers, crabbers, boats and so much more. The entire process was easy and very safe. Thank you to our guide Joe who was amazing! He explained everything and was very engaging with our kids.
