Taka did an excellent job with this tour! He helped us thru the train maze then on to Kamakura! His English is very good, easy for husband with hearing aids to understand. Very knowledgeable about so many things! We had some great conversations with him! The Budda is an amazing sight to see! So worth the trip! And the traditional Japanese lunch was the best! He gave us full instructions on how to eat the delicious lunch! Delivering us back to our hotel after our day was so nice!

The day began when Shinji met us at our hotel. We were not at ease with the public transportation system from there to Kamakura so he helped us navigate it for the entire trip. We visited four amazing sites including the Giant Buddha and the Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. He adjusted the pace of the tour to our age and physical limitations. When we requested a traditional Japanese restaurant he found one and we enjoyed a tasty and delicious lunch. At the conclusion of the tour he brought us back to our hotel before returning home himself. We would definitely recommend him to any future travelers to Kamakura.

I have met my guide Shinji at the Yokohama Port as I was debarking a cruise ship. Shinji is a very upbeat, happy smiley person. He arranged metro, train, bus seamless transfers, even found a temporary storage in Kamakura for my suitcase, so we could visit all sites lite. We have visited the image of a Great Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu shrine, caught a glimpse of cherry blossoms on our way to lunch at the local restaurant. Our last stop was a place Shinji found for me to learn and participate in a demonstration of traditional Japanese tea ceremony. It was a delightful and amazing experience - to immerse into the ancient culture and tradition. Shinji was translating all explanations to me, telling what i should say before first sip of tea, how to move. This experience was unforgettable. At the end of the tour Shinji brought me back to Yokohama station and put me on a shuttle bus to Haneda Airport - everything was perfectly timed. For a solo traveler this was perfect everything! I didn't' have a single worry about time, or where to go, which station to exit. Thank you Shinji!!

Shinji took me on a wonderful walk through forests and town to several temples and shrines in the Kamakura area. The day happened to be perfectly sunny and just the right temperature for hiking. Some of the terrain was a bit hilly, with roots on the path, up and down several steps but a nice moderate hike. An added bonus was buying some food and going to the beach to sit and eat a quick lunch. Also, the cherry blossom walk through the center of Kamakura, ending at the shrine, provided a unique experience. The only comment is that while Shinji was exceptionally kind, helpful and attentive, I had a little difficulty understanding his English. But we worked at it and in the end, it was all good!

Shinji Komiyama reached to us well prior to the tour to get a sense of what we were looking to do in Kamakura and made arrangements to meet us in the lobby of our hotel. He was here prior to the time and met us with a big smile and explained public transport or taxi. We opted for public transport and he ensured the train and change over to another train was seamless. So great to have a local showing us the ropes. We saw all the temples on our list and he provided insights into each with the history. Not at all rushed and had many opportunities for taking fantastic photos. He was patient, engaged and upbeat. A perfect guide for group from Vancouver Canada. I highly recommend him as a guide. Thank you so much Shinji you were awesome. šŸ˜€šŸ‘šŸ™

We had an amazing day trip to Kamakura. Our guide was Yoko. We met at our hotel and then took public transportation to Kamakura. Yoko is very knowledgeable, pleasant guide. She was able to adjust our itinerary and in addition to all traditional stops we were able to see Mt. Fuji from Kamakura. She took us to a local restaurant for a really good meal. We had wonderful time and will recommend this day tour from Tokyo. Thank you Yoko for unforgettable experience.

Andy was an awesome tour guide Kamakura was beautiful. Andy reached out a few days before the trip to plan an itinerary. I wanted to see a few temples and hike the trails in-between. Andy was flexible, providing two options and letting me know the pros of both. I selected the option that had the most hiking. Andy had no problems on the trail (and was in better shape than I was). While at the temples ye explained the history of the site, the religion, and significant ceremonies of each. I had a few questions that he didn't know offhand but was able to find the answer really quick. We had great chats throughout the tour and made me feel like I was hanging out with a friend. Kamakura: recommended Hiking trails: recommended for experienced hikers Andy the tour guide: highly recommended!

We had a perfect day touring with Andy! He met us at our hotel and got us through the metro and and maze of the train station in yokohama stress-free. It was a wonderful surprise that he took us first to a little art studio where we bought several beautiful postcard prints for memories of this day. He explained the religions, history and customs at the shrines and temples. His choice of our restaurant for lunch was delicious and was also set back from the busy street so it was quiet, overlooking a small garden. Our last stop was the bamboo garden and shrine, our favorite! Andy took several pictures of us and later sent them to us and he gave suggestions on how to take the best pictures from different angles. Andy was very personable, attentive and caring. He also told us about everyday life in Japan. By the time he returned us to our hotel, we felt that he was a long time friend. We highly recommendĀ Andy!!

Our guide, Hiro, was outstanding. He met us at our Tokyo station and taught us how to use the subway. He was very flexible and understanding of our group needs which included two restless 7 and 9 year olds. We saw three major temples/shrines and then visited the shopping street near the station. The lunch was at a small restaurant with local food. It was a long but interesting day. I would highly recommend the tour and tour guide.

My wife and I took a private tour of Kamakura with Andy our licensed guide. He modified our tour to meet our walking needs and the types of sites we wanted to see. His preparation for our excursion was excellent. He had prepared a guide pamphlet that explained many details of what we were seeing, including a history of the progression of Shinto and Buddhism in Japan. He was full of details and stories about all the sites we visited and had a reservation at a very nice Japanese restaurant that we had lunch at. His English was very good and he was very interested in increasing both this vocabulary or phrases that Americans use. This shouldn't be surprising as Andy has degrees in Mechanical Engineering, worked on satellites in a previous career at Misubishi and is naturally curious. We highly recommend Andy for anyone that wants a top of the line tour of Kamakura.

My travel group was so pleased with our guide, Kenzo! He met us at the Osanbashi cruise terminal in Yokohama and led us to Kamakura using public transportation. His guidance made our journey stress free! We enjoyed visiting Hokokuji Temple - a Zen Buddhist temple, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, lunch on Komachi Street, and finally the Kotoku-in Temple to see the Great Buddha statue. Then Kenzo escorted us back to the cruise terminal. It was a wonderful day!

We spent a wonderful day touring Kamakura with Kyoko. She met us at the port and using taxis, trains and buses. Through the rain we were still able to see some beautiful and meaningful sights including shrines, gardens, and local and shopping streets. Kyoko was very efficient and a great guide

Me and my family had a wonderful tour with Mr. Yutaka Ito. Even before our trip, Mr. Yutakaā€™s communication was very smooth to ensure we were well coordinated and that we understood our itinerary. Mr. Yutaka took us to Kamakura and we saw many of the must see sites and provided a great historical explanation. Despite the rainy and overcast conditions, Mr. Yutaka guided us to each location with enthusiasm and care. Thank you!

We went to Kamakura from Tokyo with Kai. He was a fantastic tour guide. He explained everything about Japanese customs, religion, politics, food and history. He also gave us a lot of useful information that was beyond the scope of the visit helping us in general on our trip to Japan. Thanks for everything!!! We look forward to seeing you soon in Italy .. a hug from Dario and Celeste !!!
