Amazing time. Saw seals, turtles, and multiple other fish and birds. Guides were friendly and had great knowledge and history of island. Will definitely do this again next time here.

Kayaking to an island was a good workout, but definitely worth the effort! Brian was a fantastic guide, kept us safe, and provided a wealth of knowledge about the islands and the creatures on it!

What a blast it was to kayak to a small island with a bird sanctuary, see a monk seal basking on the beach, plunge into Queens Bath, climb some volcanic rock, then enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach before paddling back. Our guide Riki provided a great deal of information about the island and its inhabitants. Having the guided tour was definitely worth the cost. The guide made such a difference in the quality and enjoyment of the day. 5 hours went quickly but it was an awesome experience we would consider next visit to Honolulu.

Ben was a great guide. We wouldn’t have gone that far without a guide. The view is totally worth it. I highly recommend it.

I had a wonderful experience with Mike and my other adventurers. We almost thought we wouldn’t make it with the crazy winds, but after a quick break on flat island, we were able to get to twin islands after the wind died down.

I was sceptical at first with the 6 to 10 foot swells. Our guide, James, made us all very comfortable and had great tips and tons of information and stories.

This ranked #1, on our trip to Hawaii, and we had an overall amazing vacation. Brian hit a home run as our guide, making the islands natural beauty come alive. We saw Turtles, monk seals, whales, and the scenic beauty of the island. If you love to kayak this is one not to miss. Thanks again Brian for the haole silver tour.

Amazing trip. Lots of fun. Gorgeous views. Our guide Tupre was fantastic. The weather was pretty perfect, light wind. Received kayak instruction. When we got to the island, did some touring on the island and explored the island animal life. Tour included snacks and lunch. Highly recommend this trip. Our guide Tupre was really excellent and made the entire tour a fun-filled adventure.

Austin was an incredible guide. Supremely expert in explaining and guiding us - especially important on a windy day with choppy waters! - and was so informative and friendly when on the island. The experience was great. Very yummy picnic lunch, great views, and a fun, good workout.

We love KBA - so much great merch in the store and helpful employees (shout out to John!). We’ve done their kayak tour to the Mokes as well and loved it - highly recommend. We saw turtles and had a beautiful day touring around. Highly recommend KBA!

Evelyn and Austin were my guides the other day and we’re absolutely amazing! The photos they took were stunning and they were so knowledgeable about the marine life and local kine! Evelyn even helped me kayak surf and it was lit!

My tour guide for this trip was James. Dude knows his way around a paddle let alone the island of Hawaii, which he calls home! Very informative, felt safe around him as he went at our own pace as a group (myself & a couple were on this tour), & even offered to take photos for us. Noticed he was also very keen on spotting any trash washing up on the shore & I appreciate that as one who seems to have a heart for nature. Overall, the only bad experience I've had was from eating the turkey sandwich as I ended up projected it overseas onto the sea turtles...however, when I looked up, James was still waiting on me without me needing to say a word! Truly a wonderful experience and would recommend to any traveler: Solo or as a group!

Our tour with Brandon was incredible! We were first time Ocean Kayakers and we had a great time. There were only 4 of us on the tour and we got a ton of personal attention and cool facts. The trip to the islands was amazing, we got to swim in the Queens Bath and see a Green Sea Turtle while snorkeling! The water could not be any more blue than it was. Highly recommended!!!

We had an AMAZING time kayaking to Mokes with our awesome tour guide Riki and the rest of our group of 8. Riki was so informative, positive, inclusive, and just made sure we all had a great time. We saw at least 10 sea turtles (from our kayaks and when snorkeling)! Saw lots of pretty fish, a lazy harbor seal. It was truly an awesome day!

I had the pleasure of staying in Kailua Bay for several weeks while working remotely. Throughout my time, I booked several tours & rented out some gear from KBA. Not only was it amazing to be out on the water in the bay, surrounded by the beautiful scenery and wildlife, I also could not speak more highly of the shop and the aloha spirit that each employee embodies! Although I’m sure much more could be said, I wanted to take the time to show my appreciation for all of the KBA employees I was lucky to meet: Austin: During my first week, I took the Mokulua Islands tour with Austin as my guide. He made everyone feel completely comfortable with the paddle out - he even helped tow some inexperienced kayakers throughout the tour so they could sit back and enjoy the other aspects of the ride out to the islands. Towards the end of the tour, Austin graciously shared a list of his favorite places to eat/drink/adventure around the island - many of which I ended up exploring! I had a fantastic time and could not recommend it (or Austin) enough. Mokulua Mike: Mike somehow feels like an old friend as soon as you meet him. After a few weeks of my stay in Kailua, he and I ended up running into each other every single day; whether it be on the beach, out in the open water while I was taking a swim & he was leading a tour, out on the town, and even way out in the mountains during a hike - and it was a pleasure every time! I was sad I didn’t get to see him in action on a tour but hey, on the list for next time. Marty: I had a chance to chat with Marty several times throughout my stay whenever I stepped into the shop - whether it be to pick up a paddle board or to simply browse their gear (which features an amazing selection from local shops!). Marty knew me by name and always made me feel very welcome at KBA Harmony: While Harmony and I never got a chance to talk too much, I did see her out helping launch & land kayaks day in and day out. She was always ready to dive in and help! Griffin: Griffin helped outfit me with a paddle board several times throughout my stay & was always extremely helpful when setting me up with my gear & helping me launch into the water Braden: Similarly, Braden was always very helpful when setting me up with some gear and was very friendly! Chaz: I only met Chaz once, but I had a chance to witness him helping a particularly inexperienced first-time kayaker launch into the water. After what seemed like endless attempts, this kayaker eventually made it out with his friends - all thanks to the effort and dedication that Chaz put into making sure this person had a great time Evelyn: I briefly interacted with Evelyn while she was leading a Twin Islands tour & I had paddled a rental out to Moku Nui. She seemed extremely knowledgeable about all the local wildlife & led the tour with obvious enthusiasm and passion. Plus, on the way back to the shop I heard her blasting “Dancing Queen” by ABBA which is just an obvious green flag Egmar: Never talked to him, but he sounds like a stand up guy (ayyy)! Shoutout to Egmar for operating such a 10/10 shop. Hit me up if you want to hire an advertising tech employee based in New York <3 Grant: While no longer a current employee at KBA, I’d be remiss to not throw a shoutout to Grant who was actually the OG employee who led my first tour with KBA back in November 2022. Your legacy lives on, my guy Ben: Last but not least, Ben. Ben is the definition of an exemplary employee. Famous for recruiting people right off the beach & getting them to do tours, he’s always got a can-do attitude and a smile on his face (#Smiles). No one can model the jump & twist or pull a kayak out of the water quite like him - everyday is arm day! He goes above and beyond when helping folks get in/out of kayaks & he’ll always remind you to put on some sunscreen. He is also passionate about keeping our beaches clean - we should all be like Ben!
