My husband and I very much enjoyed our Jewish Walking Tour of Porto with our guide Vanessa. Vanessa was very knowledgeable about the history of the Jewish people in Portugal and was able to answer all of our questions. She also intertwined Portuguese cultural traditions that originated from Jewish culture, and was able to talk about the Jewish community of Porto in present day. The information provided on this tour is not something that is provided on a general walking tour of Porto. If this topic interests you, I recommend taking this tour.

Our Jewish tour of Porto was fantastic and so informative. Our guide Ricardo was so wonderful he has such a passion for this and it certainly came through. We could have spent the whole day with him. He was patient friendly and we couldn’t have been happier. I highly recommend this tour.

We had the luck to have Ana as our Jewish Tour Guide. She guided us through former Jewish areas of Porto, areas we certainly would never have realized were there. Just a important, Ana explained to us the broad historical sweep of the Jewish experience in Portugal and particularly Porto. Through the centuries.

I found the tour to be very informative. Our guide, Anna, brought the history to life. She was a wealth of knowledge and was very personable. Because this was off-season we were the only people on the tour. We did a lot of walking and some details that you will not see or recognize on your own.

What an incredible experience. Anna our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly. Such a nice person. We learned so much about Jewish life throughout the history of Porto and Portugal. This is the tour to take if you want to learn about Jewish life in Porto. I really hope you get Anna as your guide.

This was not only a tour of locations where the Jewish community settled, but a thorough review of the history of Porto and the larger country as well. Ricardo was super knowledgeable, personable, and an all around great guide! Certainly one of the high points of our visit to Porto.

Our tour guide for the Jewish walking tour exceeded our expectations. She was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and very kind. She even went out of her way to help us buy tickets for the bookstore and was informative about attractions in other areas as well as the trolley routes. If she didn’t know something she would quickly do some research and soon have an answer for us. She was prepared with pictures, maps (old and new) and was truly a pleasure to spend time with. We would highly recommend her! We give her a 5+star rating.

This tour was very informative and fun. We learned so much about the Jewish history in Porto. Not only did our guide discuss Jewish history but we learned a lot about Porto too.

The guide was very likeable and we did learn some interesting history of the city. Although we appreciate there is little remaining to see of the early Jewish history we do feel that the Jewish content could have been greater. We brought an interesting plaque to the attention of the guide and pleased we did. He then kindly translated it. I enquired about a concert hall and orchestra but only later heard about the magnificent casa da musica. The guide told us the fascinating story of Barros Basto. He mentioned he was killed. Although dismissed from the army I’m not sure he was killed (according to Wikipedia)

Ana did a fantastic job giving us the history of Portugal- and Porto in particular, and weaving all of the Jewish history into the tour. There was not a lot to see given the actual history- and we were only disappointed that the one place that we could have seen had just closed when we arrived. It would have been better if she had planned our walking tour to have seen the relics at 9 Rua San Miguel. Beyond that- excellent tour and guide!
