We had a fantastic time and our chef, May, was wonderful. She was so friendly and she helped us cook the most amazing food. She also gave us helpful suggestions for substitutions in case we couldn’t get the ingredients back home, but the recipes were lovely and simple so we shouldn’t have a problem.

We had so much fun at this cooking class. The teachers were very welcoming and relaxed. They were really knowledgeable too and gave us lots of information about ingredients and food culture in Japan. The food we cooked was delicious - washed down with a glass of great sake at the end. We were able to keep the cooking instructions so we can make the recipes again. Would definitely recommend to anyone, really enjoyable few hours.

The set up was efficient and the explanations of ingredients was well done. Most importantly was how the 3 ladies worked together, giving help to anyone, cleaning the areas up quickly, so we could move onto ....one recipe to the next. Enjoying the 1st courses and than onto the rest of the meal was timely. We will look forward to preparing this meal for friends and family...Thanks Again!

Lots of fun cooking many dishes. Well thought out with plenty of cooking assistance. I have allergies and they accommodated me perfectly.

Honestly the highlight of my Kyoto stay! The guides were easy to communicate with and the whole experience was just perfect!! And to top it all off, the food we made was incredibly delicious and healthy!! They even catered to a couple of vegetarians in our group with no problem nor making it seem to be a big deal, as it wasn’t. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed cooking traditional Japanese foods and learned a lot :) thank you

I attended the cooking class with my partner and we really enjoyed the experience! The teachers were super nice and the dishes were delicious. They answered our questions and at the end we bought some japanese utensils that we used to make our dishes and will be very useful to cook back at home. We really recommend it!

The whole experience was wonderful. My daughter enjoyed the recipes and the instructions. It was a great cooking class and we appreciated the knowledge given on Japanese ingredients and dishes.

A fun experience with zero culinary skills required to enjoy. The staff were most helpful and gracious. No language barriers. Couples from France, Holland, and Australia joined us. The food was very tasty! Don’t forget to try the Sake with the meal. Will try the Bento session next time we are in Kyoto.

This class was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. The food we made was so delicious and it really empowered us to cook healthy easy Japanese meals. They gave us the recipes of what we cooked and my partner is currently shopping at the market to make them again.

We had a great afternoon learning how to cook a variety of dishes. Looking forward to trying them out at home. The ladies that did the class were very patient and happy to discuss substitutions in each dish to suit dietary requirements. Highly recommend this class.

We accidentally turned up a week early for our cooking class, however they were able to accommodate us on the day! We thoroughly enjoyed the class and found the learning really beneficial. We liked that some of the prep work had been done so that the class could focus on the more skilled/specific areas of Japanese cooking. The teachers gave us some great practical tips and teachings that we could apply back home.

We really enjoyed this small group cooking class and learning to make multiple Japanese dishes that we can try again at home. The dishes were delicious, and the instructors were very friendly and easy to learn from. We highly recommend this class.

This was our first cooking class booked through Viator and was at the Cooking Sun school in Kyoto. There were 4 of us including a 12 and 10 yr. old and we all loved the class. The teachers were attentive, organized and helpful to all of us in the class. We loved the food we cooked and we ended up eating a lot of food so do come hungry. You are given the history and the basics of Japanese cooking and how to use the different gadgets one uses in Japanese cookery. It is info given at a level for all cooking skills. I am really into cooking but my grandchildren were able to learn and understand the nuances that is part of Japanese cookery. All in all I would highly recommend the Cooking Sun classes. We loved it so much that we took 3 other cooking classes with Cooking Sun in Kyoto and Tokyo.

This was a lot of fun and also yummy. The chefs were very lovely, my teenage kids really enjoyed it too. We will definitely try the recipes at home. Thanks team!
