This was such a fun food tour and came with so much food! Make sure to come hungry because you get full meals at some of the stops. Everything was so delicious and our guide, Akaya, was very informative, upbeat and friendly! While I am not the most adventurous eater and didn’t try a few of the options presented to us, I still left incredibly full from all the good food we received! In addition to the food, we tried a few different sake and yuzu sour which were all good and enjoyable to drink. This tour does have a decent amount of walking, especially in the beginning where you get a great history of the area. We greatly enjoyed this part of the tour as well but for those with tired feet, make sure to wear some comfortable shoes!

Our tour guide, Chizuru, had a warm personality and was very knowledgeable of both the places we went and the food we were eating. We got to try lots of foods we would never have otherwise thought to order, and it was fun to meet and chat with new people. Chizuru checked in with everyone throughout the tour to make sure we were happy and fed! Be prepared to eat a LOT… way more food than we were expecting and we honestly felt full halfway through. The optional sake testing beforehand was interesting but not necessary because the tour came with 3 included drinks. Would definitely book again in a different city to learn more about the local foods there!

Our guide, Chizuru did a great job. She was friendly and really brought our group together. She gave us lots of good information about the areas we walked through. There was plenty of food to try on the tour and we really liked the establishments we visited.

I wasn't sure what to expect before booking this tour, but Chizuru made everyone feel incredibly welcome and looked after the group throughout the tour. We moved between local spots and tried a variety of foods, it was an awesome experience.

Andrea was a really nice tour guide. The food was AMAZING! And A LOT! So don't eat a big lunch before. We had tonkatsu, okinawa style food, sashimi among other izakaya food and lots of sake and soft drinks (try the shikuwasa juice at the okinawa style restaurant)!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the Izakaya food tour. Chizuru was our guide and she was brilliant, very knowledgeable, friendly and chatty. She made sure she knew everyone in the group by name and what type of food they prefer. She went above and beyond and even provided further food suggestions for after the tour around various parts of Tokyo, including other tips and suggestions for souvenirs and activities. All the food was delicious on the tour, and the portion sizes were big, it was nice to have drinks included as well. Would recommend to anyone spending some time in Tokyo. A fabulous evening.

Highly recommend Shambliss’s tour, she was sooo fun and kind!! Showed us so many cool spots and gave tons of insight on Japanese culture and history, truly excellent!! All the food was amazing. We even went back to some of the places she showed us after our tour. Shambliss was also kind enough to show some of us to see the 3D cat after our tour when we asked and we got some great pictures!! Soooooo worth it, definitely felt like we got the authentic experience :)

The tour and our tour guide Chizuru was excellent. The food choices were great and had a variety of different tastes. Chizuru was full of positive energy and well informed. She also made sure to engage everybody in the tour and kept it super personalized which was really sweet. The tidbits of fun information of the Shinjuku area as we were walking around were very interesting and definitely added to the fun experience! We really enjoyed this tour and definitely would recommend.

A must do tour! We thought we would just be visiting a couple izakayas and eating and drinking, but Hawaii Joe took us to all the cool sights in Shinjuku and was very knowledgeable about the area and all the food we had. Joe was so kind and high energy - we loved him!

Hawaii Joe was terrific. Fun, knowledgeable, and excellent restaurants. A wonderful experience. If you’re new to Tokyo, we highly recommend taking this tour.

Chizuru took us on a wondtour around Shinjuku. We tried the best food and enjoyed some sites we hadnt seen. Really good tour.

U. S. Tour guide Max led a small group of us on a varied tasting and visual experience. He made the tour fun with his colourful narrative, the sights he showed us as well as introducing us to the best of Tokyo's delicacies!! We were all experts at enthusiastically shouting 'Kanpa' like a local before the evening was out! i It was really a thoroughly enjoyable evening and Max was a great host. Well done and thank you!!

Chizuru was an amazing food tour guide and scheduled four stops for our evening (three for meals and one for an appetizer). She also made a few stops along the way pointing out some of the local landmarks and explaining parts of the city to us. I highly recommend this tour if you like to eat and want to enjoy the Shinjuku night life, and be sure to ask for Chizuru - she was the best. PS: she also gave as a list of restaurants to try during the remainder of our stay that was geared towards the types of food we like and were wanting to try.

This was a fantastic tour. The food was great and a great example of what to expect in Shinjuku if you know where to go but the highlight was our guide Melissa who was so engaging and an absolute delight. Her story telling of her experiences in Tokyo and the warmth that she shared with all the establishment made it feel like were were old friends at all the restaurants that we visited. Don't miss this tour.
