The boat and the boat crew were the highlight of this adventure!! The snorkeling was very short, the water was freezing and there were hardly any fish. There were a TON of baby jellyfish that you could t see the stung you like crazy. Maybe April isn’t the best time for this trip. The beach they bring you to is full of tons of people with no seating. Not to mention you have to jump off the boat and swim to shore in the freezing cold water. Again, the crew was wonderful! The boat ride was fun but any of the water/snorkeling was a definite do not recommend.

Brian and the team put on a great tour. It was very well organized and easy to participate in. Once we were on the boat, we were looked after really well. Commentary was in English and Spanish. The lunch spread was simple but tasty. There was plenty of alcohol (if you wanted it). The reef snorkeling was great, as was the beach time. The on board entertainment was great. I'd happily recommend this to my friends.

The tour was amazing. If you aren’t used to being on a boat in the ocean I recommend anti-nausea medication. I got a little sea sick but the staff and the group we were with were helpful, attentive, and supportive. Brian was an incredible MC, very knowledgeable and was skillfully bilingual. The staff always made sure we were happy and comfortable with a full drink in our hands. They made sure we were fed (the food was delicious, you could tell they had homemade bread and desserts) and entertained. During the boat ride they surprised us with multiple dance numbers that were hilarious and so entertaining. The snorkeling and the islands were beautiful and we got to take a break at the Vallarta adventures private beach where there were more drinks and beautiful water and sands. They had kayaks and items available for use and let us relax and enjoy the beach. I highly recommend this trip!

This tour was well run; the staff was friendly, fun and helpful. The itinerary was great! The Marietas were beautiful! The boat was very near the island and we were able to snorkel. The food, drinks and service on the boat were good, The disappointing part of this tour was the number of people on the boat. I would estimate the group was more than 100 people. The stop at the private beach was also frustrating. A large section of the beach was roped off for use by another company. Our group was left with little seating and very few drink options.

Loved everything! The activities, the crew, the service. We had an awesome day. Plus, we saw hundreds of dolphins. Would highly recommend!

Only reason I don’t give a 5 star is because of factors out of the crews control. We weren’t able to go to Majahuitas :-( and the water visibility during snorkeling was okay but still fun, we weren’t out for as long as I’d hoped but because we didn’t see much I’m not complaining! The actual crew was so amazing and fun to be around. Originally we wanted to do scuba diving at Majahuitas but we weren’t able to, however Nicholas helped us through it all and was so sweet to my friends and I despite the unforeseen circumstances! Also Luis was such a fun time and made the trip entirely worth it. He danced with our group and made sure we had food/water the whole excursion. Juan was also great. Noe/Noah(?) was an awesome tour guide and there was even a skit that was super entertaining to watch. I would also say if you’re prone to getting seasick maybe take Dramamine or bring remedies for seasickness. Two of my friends unexpectedly threw up on the way to the island but were fine afterwards. Looking around there were many people with bags/leaned over the side not feeling great. I usually get easily motion sick but I tried not to think about it and I was fine for the most part!! Overall, went with my girlfriends and we’re all in college and we were one of the few groups that were really bumping to the music and stayed by the open bar 😆 but the crew kept up with our high energy!

Pros: - good and friendly service and staff, - included activity of banana boat rides, - good lunch, - open bar and drinks service, - decent quality flippers provided Cons: - no option to rent a wetsuit for snorkeling and no warning that the ocean is quite cold (although they had plenty of wetsuits onboard for people who wanted to try SCUBA) - too little snorkeling time, - no advance warning that everyone will have to swim to and from the beach - I would have brought a waterproof bag. This was especially ridiculous as other tour companies brought their passengers to the shore, - open bar and very abundant drinks service (crew were constantly coming around with jugs of spiked punch and beer), combined with dance music, turned the return part of the trip into a drunk fest for a lot of people, making it rather less than family friendly environment. The company should really decide what they want this tour to be - ridiculously overpriced food at the check in area in Nuevo Vallarta.

A really fun way to spend the day. Loved all the great info shared about Islas Marietas. The lunch was well-done and the visit to the beach was also fun. Professional and fun staff. We definitely left feeling like our money was well-spent and would happily book an excursion with Vallarta Adventures again. Truthfully the snorkeling was not the best I've seen - visibility was fairly low and not a lot to see, but it may be that I am just spoiled by previous snorkeling experiences.

Had an amazing experience. The crew was funny and very entertaining throughout the entire experience. When we went snorkeling we saw tons of fish and sting rays. Loved being on the ocean and would definitely recommend it to anyone!

We went on the Islas Marietas Eco Discovery tour and it was extremely unfortunate. First, there was an extra charge of $20 per person the day of (a "docking" fee?) which was annoying. Then we took off to go snorkeling, but my family did not even get to get into the water because people were immediately getting stung by jellyfish. While this is out of their control, the way they handled it was not. An announcement was made that we would be going to a new location in hopes that jellyfish would not be an issue, but I truly believe they no longer intended to let us do any water activities because they served lunch then, at 10am, when we werent even hungry yet because we had only eaten breakfast a little while before. They also began the open bar, which I find suspicious seeing as the website said that alcohol wouldnt be served until after all water activities, but we were still supposed to be "going elsewhere for the activities." Strange. At the next location we were yet again not allowed to snorkel, and were told that paddleboarding and kayaking were out of the cards as well. We arrived at the private beach which, don't get me wrong, was beautiful, but we were told to swim to the beach, despite just being told there were jellyfish. This also didn't allow us to bring anything onto the beach (towels, sunscreen, books, phones) and we didn't know how long we would be there. There was the option to go to the dock and walk to the beach, which was described as the easier route for children and the elderly, so my sister and I decided to take this route since we wanted to bring our stuff with us. The walk was NOT built for those who struggle with long distances because in the heat it was exhausting and all uphill, my sister and I are in our 20's and are lifelong athletes and were quite tired after the 20 minute trek. We did enjoy our time at the beach however, but when they called for us to get back on the boat, not giving the option to walk this time, there was a slight problem. Everyone who walked did not have lifejackets and it was a decently far swim to the boat. This is a SAFETY HAZARD!!! I am a confident swimmer so I literally ended up giving my lifejacket to a girl who was absolutely terrified to swim back, and honestly, it was a difficult swim. They also just yelled to get back on the boat, so I'm not sure everybody heard it. They did not check to see if everyone got back on (like doing a count or checking names off of a list) and my family & I swear that the boat was only like 60% full on the way back compared to on the way there. I paid significant money for the opportunity to snorkle, kayak, and paddleboard, and instead got an exhausting day of drinks being shoved down our throats (which normally I obviously wouldnt mind) but it felt like they were just trying to get people drunk so they wouldnt be upset. Honestly if I could give this a zero I would, I just feel that we shouldve been offered at least a partial refund or the ability to go back out again another day when the jellyfish/waves werent an issue. Really really disappointing :(

Amazing excursion! Alex was fantastic! He was very informative and entertaining. The swim into Hidden Beach was challenging fighting the current and waves, but very fun! Saw lots of different fish and sea urchins on the snorkel portion of the adventure. We even got to see some humpback whales on the boat ride to and from Puerto Vallarta. Highly recommend this tour!!

This Vallarta Adventure was amazing! Had a lovely time snorkeling to see the different fish. Also, had a great time at the private beach we got taken to. The guides really try to make it the best experience for each individual. If you are looking for a more private tour, this might not be the best one for you, but if you're okay having lots of other groups with you then book it!

Had a fabulous time Our crew was excellent, we had the misfortune of running into mechanical issues along the way, but the captain and crew handled everything professionally and without delay. The tour continued, and few guests were even aware that there had been an issue. Very professional tour and the sights were amazing! Highly recommend

I would love to rate this higher but the snorkeling just wasn’t great. The visibility was low and the waves were very choppy. This might be due to time of year as we heard similar things from people who snorkeled on other days this same week. A few people were stung lightly by jellyfish but it wasn’t anything too serious. The service was fantastic. All the guides were very attentive and even put on a show for us! Definitely entertained. The beach excursion was the best part, as the water was tame and the seating was plentiful. We found a soccer ball and attempted some sandy passes. Beer and water were served at the beach. Pack plenty of sunscreen as you are out on the boat for about 7 hours. Drinks were served on the boat after snorkeling had ended. The kayaking and paddle boarding was minimal, as they only had 2 of each, so people had to take turns. The photographs might be worth buying here unless you have a waterproof holder for your phone.

The boat trip was fun & the staff were all friendly, helpful & earning their wages/tips. Luis, the travel director was fun but his English instructions were hard to understand: his accent & rapid speech plus the distortion of a microphone & boat noise caused most all of the tourists to ask each other: “what did he say? did you understand that? where do we go?” after every explanation. This made for a lot of confusion during snorkel drop off & reboarding. Nice lunch (sandwich, salads, fruits), plenty of options to drink. The brief snorkel trip at Isla Marietas was disappointing. Water was stirred up, no coral to see, very few varieties of fish. It is a Natiknsk Patk but basically just a rocky island. Luis told of its history. Enjoyed the stop at Majahuitas more with clear water & same few fish to view. Saw whales & dolphins ☑️ A long wait to get to the pier to discharge passengers in PV before getting back to NV.
