George was an excellent and knowledgeable guide. A very personable experience, we learned a lot and were glad to move and see the beautiful history. Highly recommend!

This tour was such an amazing experience. I went with my husband to Greece, we are from New York and wanted to know more about Ios. George was very knowledgeable and was able to tell us many things about the island that we wouldn't have known otherwise. The views on this tour was spectacular and we were able to see the sunset as well. We definitely recommend him.

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you to George for being a brilliant tour guide! His rich knowledge of the island was fascinating and provided us with historical and cultural context for our further exploration of the island. The tour is a must, as George points out several things that many tourists may miss. The experience was intimate, with myself and my partner being the only ones on the tour. George himself is very personable and we really appreciated learning about his personal connection to the island. We immediately felt at ease and we left the tour feeling as though we had just spent some time with a local of Ios. He is easy to reach via WhatsApp before the tour so we had no trouble finding him. We were also given recommendations of food and restaurants on the island, which proved to be delicious. George recommended historical sites across the island, providing some information about them as you could see them from afar. George’s tour was well thought out and he stopped to take pictures of our family so that my family and I could be in the photos together. We enjoyed his stories and history of the island very much. I would come back and take a different tour of his in order to experience other aspects of Ios.

My friends and I took a Paths hiking tour with George in June 2023. It was a nice long one covering many kilometres through beautiful rugged countryside with spectacular scenery and sites of interest. We saw many old ruins and churches. Several of the sites had scan codes that we were able to scan with our phones to learn more about the areas we visited. George was well informed and had a wealth of information, he truly loves his island and its culture. He packed some traditional Greek snacks for us that we enjoyed at our rest points. If you enjoy the outdoors and exploring, I highly recommend taking a tour with George on the island of Ios.

We did a private hiking tour with George, and what a wonderful time we had! We got to see stunning places that tourists are typically not able to access and learned many interesting facts about the island and its history. George is a very passionate and thoughtful guide, and was always aware of providing a safe and fun experience. Any trip to Ios should include a hike (or multiple) with Ios Paths! Highly recommended!

George amazing guide and wants to put the history back into IOS. Passionate about his home George offers to walk you locally through hillside, allowing you to try his home grown figs in route! You walk fast ( he is an ex military man) and he rewards you with great knowledge and views. We ended back in town and he gave us a lift back as we were walking opposite direction. I would definitely trust George and his knowledge of history is proof he only wants what’s best for this beautiful island.

I was lucky enough to be the only person on this guided tour! George is extremely passionate and knowledgeable. I enjoyed his retelling of local legends and sharing of historic photos of Ios. The sunset and views were beautiful. The history behind the lighthouse was interesting and cool to see. George was a great guide, we had many great chats. The is a walking tour that is good for all ages and levels. George is a great guide, over the years we have done multiple hikes with him and they never disappoint. Highly recommend.

My husband and I did a private hike through the ancient ruins to the city center. We hiked at a relaxed pace with plenty of stops for pictures and water breaks. Our guide was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his line of work. Would highly recommend any of his tours!

What a wonderful hike! George was incredibly nice and knowledgeable; it was very cool to learn about the island and its history, take in its beautiful views, and have a good moderate physical challenge on my first day on Ios. George shared snacks, sun protection, saved my life from walking into a huge spiderweb with the accompanying huge spider(eek!) and was all around a very generous and gracious guide. It’s such a great way to experience the island and I would recommend it to everyone!

George was absolutely fantastic. We went on a brilliant hike up through the mountain to the cheesery. George was a great guide setting a good pace and telling us stories of the island, showing traditional farming settlements and sharing incredible dried figs, bread and local treats along the way. George even brought his drone and took some amazing footage. I cannot recommend this enough as a great way to see the island, hear some history and see the work of the George and the volunteers who have put in so much time to preserve the island pathways and history. A wonderful day!

What a fabulous experience and one we will never forget. We are regular walkers (both age 53) so joined George for a 3 hour hike on our island hopping holiday to learn about Ios which we most definitely did. We never stopped talking the whole time and learnt so much….won’t spoil the little extra treats along the way! This walk is a little challenging but George encouraged us all the way and thoroughly enjoyed the much needed exercise. Well done to George and volunteers who are doing a fantastic job keeping these trails open for the public with signposts and markings for ease of reference. Highly recommend this experience a must do if you are visiting IOS!

George was great and has put so much time and effort into instating hiking routes on the island of Ios. I did the 2 hour hike to the lighthouse and felt completely comfortable and able despite not being much of a hiker. George brought food, a drone (!) to take pictures with and also showed me lots of old photos of Ios and told me so much about the island and it’s history. Was such a pleasure and loved the little gift he gave me at the end!

Fantastic trip of which we didn’t know what to expect. Experienced walkers as we are but this level was a very welcome surprise due to the amazing rocky landscape we were encompassing!! George is a truly passionate man and by the end of the trek you want to will him to finish anything he puts his mind to. He is a great local man who with a history in the Greek military allows him to put his own navigational expertise to full use, he has personal links to IOS through family and wants to leave a legacy for generations to know what their island beholds. The route we took from the Port, to the archeological site, up the valley to a small church, eating local figs for sustanance, sharing information on why it was there, all new signage George had personally actioned to be fitted, where iOS was geographically in its area, the legends was believed things happened etc, etc, the man is knowledgeable and speaks great English. Help George see his visions through by supporting him and his very unselfish wishes for IOS. I’d definitely do another walk when returning.

George was an excellent hiking guide! We hiked the Chora to Pyrgos trail, 16km return hike from the peak to Chora! George is an experienced guide and very knowledgeable of the geography and history of the region and the island of Ios. He shared with us his passion for the natural and cultural landscape and stewardship of the island of Ios. We also got to sample some of the fine culinary treats that he shared with us while on our hike! It was a fun day! I had a guided trekking tour with George in the uexplored island path to the mountain over "chora" village. He is a skilled local expert with vast experience in the military in the past. Quiet helpful and story telling guy, surprised me with the knowledge he owns , due to his family roots in the island and his pleasant presenattion of the historic details. He cared a lot, adapting his tour to our own interests. I would undoubtely suggest him to the real travellers who would like to step "off the beaten track ' !

I took two tours with Ios Paths and I enjoyed them thoroughly! Georges is extremely welcoming and was patient to answer all of my many questions. Ios has a fascinating history and culture and it was valuable to be able to learn from the locals and access many parts of the island - I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise.
