We sailed with JP in early May, 10am slot and the day was sunny and clear with good winds for the sail. JP is an excellent tour guide - experienced, personable and accommodating. The catamaran is perfect for a group of 5 (swimmers and non-swimmers). JP took us to the area where he knew wild dolphins swim - and we saw two pods of them! We also saw plenty of stingrays and a turtle. On the way back, we stopped at an island where we could walk in the clear water and take pictures. Overall, it was a great excursion for us and I’ll definitely be back!

We had the most incredible experience with David at Sail Ahead Miami. We have been on speed boats and sailboats before, but nothing was as relaxing and thrilling. David was awesome at explaining how everything works, this was not just like another commercial boating experience this was rather an educational learning experience. David was so family friendly with personal attention. He really went above and beyond to make this as a memorable fun experience as possible. Now we all want to learn how to sail on our own. This is definitely going to be our new adventure every time we visit Miami. A++++++++++ I would give it more than 5 stars if there would be such an option. Highly recommended. We had a wonderful experience. I was a bit worried at first because it was a windy day and the trip was almost canceled. Also, we had different ages so getting on the sailboat took some time to get everyone comfortable. But as we started to sail off all my worries disappeared. I had always wanted to ride on a sailboat since I was a kid, so this was kinda a bucket list item for me. JP was an awesome tour guide! He did an amazing job of taking so many pictures and videos for us! He was very informative and knew the area well. JP was very friendly and kept the conversation flowing. I appreciated that he made a point to remember all our names and get to know everyone. He was a great tour guide. We learned about the winds and sailing. JP had some of us try to sail and steer and it was a lot of fun! My daughter and I got to hang from the side with a harness which was a very unique experience. We saw a dolphin, sting ray, and puffer fish. We stopped at some mangroves in search of manatees, but no luck (We did see a Karen though😉). JP brought us by an island that he and others had spent the cleaning up and posting signs to clean up trash. I really appreciate their conscious effort to protect the environment. JP brought snacks and waters for the group and we enjoyed just hanging out in the water. We had a great experience and I would definitely book again if I’m ever back in the area.

David is fun and easy-going and ready to make the trip whatever it needs to be for you. He's an experienced sailing instructor and meets each person where they are at. He loves the bay and wants to do whatever it takes for you to fall in love with it too. I really felt like I was out on bay with an old friend. The little boat is cozy and casual. It's low to the water creating a very intimate experience with the ocean. I was traveling alone for work and was paired up with a family of four with two young kids. I was astonished as the kids transformed from wildly timid to bold and playful under David's instruction. He is gifted. I would do it all again in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful time sailing with Captain David. He is so kind and informative. Our 9 year old son said it felt like we were in a movie and I couldn’t agree more! We had a blast! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful time on this trip with Captain David. This trip is very immersive. The views of the Bay and the Miami skyline were amazing. The kids liked the adventurous nature of this trip, sitting out over the water as we cruised along. The hour at the sandbar was beautiful with lots of time for swimming around and chilling out. I suspect each trip is different and depends on the weather, the time of year, and the tide, but overall a spectacular adventure. Highly recommend!

This is the kind of experience that warrants a review.. a truly fantastic experience that deserves more than the five stars I am able to rate it! We went on a sailing excursion with Captain JP, on a particularly windy day. This accentuated his sailing expertise and allowed us to experience a truly unique trip. Not once did I feel like JP was not 100% confident and competent. His kids that came along were also so sweet and kind and made you feel like part of the salty sailing family. JP had awesome healthy snacks and even cracked open a coconut for the crew on the little island for all of us to try some. He also took fabulous pictures all throughout the whole expedition so that you didn’t have to worry about capturing the moment yourself. Be sure to book your sailing adventure with JP!

The sailing was wonderful and JP was a kind, skillful guide. My friend and I really enjoyed being out on the water and interacting with the guide as well as the other people on the tour.

Captain David is an excellent guide and professional. He’s also personable and very knowledgeable of Biscayne Bay. He aims to meet everyone’s expectations!

Guide enlisted rookie to captain boat, had a hard time navigating back. Sail ripped, needed new one. One rudder broke, needed to be towed into dock. Still had fun, but lots of room for improvement for this tour company.

Amazing eco tour and our first sailing experience! Captain David was so cool and the low tide allowed us to explore sandbars and see various marine life!

We did the intimate sailing adventure with David at 3pm (for sunset) and it was fantastic! Coordinating was so easy (they're so communicative via text), and David was a perfect captain. He was so knowledgeable about Miami, had amazing stories to share, and taught us how to sail. Felt very safe, and the day was such a thrill. Would highly recommend!

Such a fun way to spend an afternoon! Would absolutely do it again!! Captain James was wonderful, very warm and friendly, knowledgeable, and took excellent care of us.

First off our captain was super nice and welcoming his name was Juan! It was a small boat so you are with a small group which I enjoyed! It was just my daughter and I and we were with another couple. Juan took a lot of pictures and videos with his iPhone so we didn’t have to take ours out and risk dropping it in the water. After about an hour of sailing he stopped at a sandbar and he provided us with snacks (chips and guac and chocolate chip cookies)! We saw dolphins and some puffer fish during our experience! This was overall a great experience and would definitely do it again!

Great boat captain and got to see dolphins! We felt safe on the water and the captain did a great job of narrating the experience with sailing info and facts about Miami.
