We had a amaizing cooking time in Budapest. We made Hungarian 3 course memu and all of them is the best! i ever had. While cooking, we had a break time to have some hungarian traditional snack that is very tasty, and palinka, cordial drink that made us relaxed. Thank you Marti, who is great host and cooking teacher!

It's a different kind of activity for teams. It's nice to eat homemade meal while on a business trip. The host is nice and the kitchen is beautiful.

This was a wonderful experience. Marta has an amazing place where she hosts. It was spacious and comfortable, and she welcomed us like family. She is warm and energetic and guided us through the making of our 3-course menu like a pro. I was solo along with two other pairs, a group of 5 total, and there was more than enough to do for everyone to be hands on and get plenty involved though it was easy going and without pressure. There was snacks and wine and plenty of food for everyone to have as much as they desired. We made goulash soup, hortobagy pancake with chicken paprikash and gerbeaud layer cake. All the food turned out great and we used high quality ingredients for everything. I happened to have just tried the gerbeaud cake at the famous Cafe Gerbeaud prior to the experience and can say hands down that the one we made with Marta was the winner between the two! :) Thanks for an amazing dinner and cooking class! This was a great value and I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a special experience during their time in Budapest

Fantastic experience, from the kitchen itself, to the mood, the food and the conversation. Marti loves what she does and you can feel that in all aspects of the class.

Well, we just had a wonderful day with Marti! We did the sour cherry soup. Chicken paprikash and crepes. The whole experience was terrific and we all got special attention. The studio space is very inviting and functional. Highly recommend. (Also, we had to change our reservation a couple of times and Marti took it in stride)

Our cooking class with Marti and Flavors of Budapest was the highlight of our trip! When we arrived we were warmly greeted by Marti, who I can honestly say is the loveliest person in Budapest! We started off with some sparkling water with homemade syrups to add to it and then jumped right into cooking. We selected the following menu: Potato & Sausage Soup, Stuffed Cabbage and Poppy Seed Bread Pudding w/ Custard. Yum, yum, and yum! Marti was a wonderful teacher, explaining things as we went along and answering all of our questions. The food is amazing, but spending time with Marti and sharing our food memories and Family stories was priceless. Her warmth and graciousness is a true gift and that is my takeaway that I will hold dear from my time in Budapest. This was like cooking in Marti’s home, and she truly makes you feel welcome - from the conversations we had, the snacks while cooking , and then having us sit at her beautiful dining table and she served us. Thank you Marti for a beautiful memory of our first time to Budapest. I can’t wait to try the recipes at home & with Family.

We've experienced cooking classes before but this was the most intimate one yet! Marti was precious. She took her time, explained and answered questions, and our wine glasses were never empty. We were there for about 4 hours but it felt much shorter due to the fun we were having. We couldn't finish all the good we made and learned so much about Hungarian cuisine but also cooking in general. She was incredible and I can't wait to come back to Budapest and try another dish!

Well executed class. Chef was well organized and explained process and steps efficiently. Good background information on food. Small class worked well with good interaction with unfamiliar people. Highly recommend this class and Marta.

A fantastic meal and wonderful experience! Flavors of Budapest was more than just a cooking class — it provided a window into life in Hungary. I especially appreciated Chef Marti sharing experience of home cooks i Hungary as well her special tips. Chef Marti was well, organized, professional and knowledgeable; she helped our class build our culinary confidence in three new dishes we can make at home. We all loved the market tour with valuable insights into key ingredients such as how to a select a paprika and the influence certain types of oils and fats on flavor profiles. Despite Chef Marti’s depth of expertise she brings a warmth and sense of fun that turns this class from an experience to a warm memory.

If you're looking for something to do in Budapest, look no further than this AMAZING cooking class with Marti! It was the highlight of our time in Budapest (and we saw and did so much)! I really liked having the option to pick from a set of menus, all of which sounded delicious! We picked a menu consisting of Creamy Potato Soup with Sausage, Stuffed Cabbage, and Poppy Seed Bread Dumplings. I could not have been happier with our choices and the results. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Marti into her beautiful apartment and started off with some delicious homemade palinka, then we jumped into the cooking. I'm honestly not much of a cook and was nervous, but Marti was really great at instructing and very patient. The end result was an outstanding meal! I left stuffed and very happy! I cannot wait to try to make these dishes at home on my own!

My husband and I spent 3 days in Budapest and the highlight of our trip was our 4-hour cooking class with Marti, owner of Flavors of Budapest. She was easy to communicate with prior to booking and responded to emails promptly. At the class, she showed us how to make cold Sour Cherry Soup, Chicken Paprikash and Grundel Pancakes. We participated a lot in the cooking process - chopping, stirring, straining and even flipping the crepe-like pancakes up in the air! Marti was delightful to spend time with and clearly aimed to please. I mentioned that I wished I had time to take her strudel class too and she generously showed me how to make and roll out/stretch strudel dough. This was so kind!!! Thank you, Marti, for a wonderful morning and the best meal of our trip!
