My partner and I booked the night before and were the only two people on the tour. We got the recommendation from a different tour guide (Tam) and booked directly through the Hoi An Express site. Snow is super funny and very knowledgeable about Vietnamese history. We stopped at Hai Van Quan and saw the fort remnants and lookout. In Hue we took a dragon boat to the Thien Mu pagoda and then headed to the Imperial City. Snow taught us a lot about the emperors of Vietnam, especially the penultimate emperor, Khai Dinh. We had a lovely set lunch near the imperial city, saw the resting place of Khai Dinh and headed back to Danang. I thought this tour was 5-stars because Snow provided such a rich history of Vietnam, its rulers, the French, etc. She was also hilarious. Good laughs and good times were had.

Our driver and our guide were outstanding. We even had WiFi in the car to help pass the time on our somewhat long drive. Everything was as described in the "what to expect" description. Lunch they arranged for us in Hue was amazing. I highly recommend this tour and company to anyone visiting Danang that wants to see Hue.

The tour was perfect. The trip turned out to be a private one as we were only 2 and our guide (Snow) delivered everything we were promised. She was super nice.

A really great day out to see some of the most interesting sights in Vietnam, with a lovely river boat trip in a family boat. We really enjoyed the stunning historical sights on offer and learnt so much about Vietnam and the royal family, and Eric was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. He is one of the funniest and best tour guides we have had, and he has some excellent stories to tell! I hope next year he manages to run faster and catch himself a lovely wife, be sure to check on his training for us!! Ha, ha!
The lunch was incredibly good too, some of the best food we had in Vietnam. It was amazingly presented and I was worried that all of the work had gone into that, but the taste was delicious too. We thoroughly recommend this tour, even if you just want to meet Eric!

Great tour of the palace. Long drive and hot but well worth it. Very informative guide. The pagoda and the Emporers burial site was also good. Our guide was very knowledgable and spoke very good English. A very friendly person. The meal at the restaurant was first class as was the service, we loved eating like local and the garden was beautiful. The driver was also accomodating and was prepared to stop if you wished to take photos. He also did a nice tour of Danang as an extra. Value for money and highly recommended, especially for history and amazing views. Remember it’s a very long drive although it’s worth giving a try.

The day tour consists of visiting the palace, tomb of the emperor, temple and a couple of viewing rests along the way, very inspiring. A nice lunch was provided at a local restaurant. The guide did a great job introducing and explaining along the way. We were picked up from Hoi An, joined by more guests from Da Nang. The day was sizzling hot and the air conditioning from the bus barely made its job. The sun was scorching so a straw hat and/or umbrella is a must.

A great tour with an excellent tour guide Minh. An early start driving up a very steep, very narrow road with loads of buses, cars and the usual bikes. Parking at the Pass was interesting! Hue Citadel was the gem of this tour. We did not expect it to be so large and in spots restored and others completed destroyed. The lunch at a former Mandarins house was great but everything came with some sort of Seaford, not great for anyone with seafood allergies. Minh explained the history of the Citadel, Hue, the Emperors Tomb prior to seeing them so that you had a greater understanding before entering the sites. His knowledge of the country's history was great to hear and seemed to be very personal to him and his family ... it was a privilege to hear from someone who lived through such hard times. An excellent tour highly recommended especially with Mr. Minh.

The tour is provided by Hoi An Express. It was just my husband and I on the trip we travelled in rainy season... From start to finish it was exceptional. The tour guide was such a lovely and kind person as well as an excellent guide with so much knowledge to share with us. If you are interested in history and want to know more about Hue and the Vietnamese culture in general I encourage you to book this tour.
There was a lot of food to try at lunch..you do not leave hungry even though not all dishes are to the western taste..but a very good standard to tour food!

For a single day trip, this accomplishes a lot. The shuttle was on time to pick us up and stopped at Hai Van pass for a quick explanation and exploration. We then went to the the Thien Mu Pagoda, then took a boat along the river to walk to the Imperial City where we wandered around. I certainly could have spent more time in the Imperial city but this was a good abbreviated version. Lunch was a great introduction to local food note that drinks are not included in your tour cost!. As described you then the stop at the tomb briefly on the way back lots of steps!. Lots of culture and a friendly and knowledgeable guide for this tour. It's a long day and you're provided with one water bottle for the day- perhaps bring your own additional water, and I'd recommend having breakfast and a bathroom break before you leave. Highly recommended, good value for money.

The tour was good.
The tour guide, the car, the driver was nice.
It was worth visiting temple and palace in Hue.
But the lunch was disappointing.
The food was too sweet and too much.
The food was not for eating but for photo.
And it was too hot.
You need parasol and towel.

It was a long drive from Da Nang but a very worthwhile trip. We started witth an impromptu visit to Marble Mtn before heading up to Hue. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and prepared to be flexible with our needs. The Citadel was amazing. The highlight was the Khai Dinh Royal tomb. Lunch in a good local restaurant was also a highlight with delicious local fare.
All in all an informative and enjoyable day full of authentic Vietnamese history.
