Well organised, professional and safe. Food was quite good considering the remoteness of the location. For those less fit or having difficulties acclimatising, try the three day tour instead.

Just finished the two-day Huyana Potosi trek. It was an amazing experience and there is nothing that I would like to be changed in the future. My guide, Iban, was the best guide that I could have ever wished for.

Absolutely incredible excursion, Johnny the guide was excellent, the climb was one of the hardest things I've ever done but the view from the topo brought me to tears. Would highly recommend to anyone, very professional company and an experience not to be missed!

My friend and I took the chance to try on Huayana Potosí with JIWAKI, and we can highly recommend it! Why? Our guide William simply did an allover great job, while taking constant care of safety, informing and motivating us when there was a need. He constantly prepared every next step, assessed our condition and, most important, set a continuous pace. The equipment was more than complete and modern, in short words: flawless! (for example: Petzl crampons and helmet, Scarpa alpine boots and rugged company customized clothes). We felt safe and well guided at any time, the food was tasty and William took gorgeous photos of us during the trip. Notice: We had perfect weather conditions, only few other roped parties on the way and are in good cardio fitness condition. The ascent from the altitude camp (5200m) to the summit takes around 5 to 6,5 hours, depending on the speed. It's exhausting, slightly technical, and you should adapt consequently to the altitude many days before the trip, to be in the best shape and lower the risk of altitude sickness. Advanced level of mental and physical fitness is necessary. All the organization matters were impeccable and at a high level of experience. Thank's JIWAKI for this awesome experience!

These guys are new in the game but their equipment and service is impeccable. Franz the owner explained all the details to us in person and didn't leave anything out. Would recommend doing the 3 day climb as the first day on the ice wall sounds like a lot of fun. The guides on the climb were great (they don't speak much English though - none really do). They motivated us to get to the top and made sure we got enough rest stops. You are (as with any company) attached in pairs to a guide. The hike itself is tough but worth the effort to reach that 6088m summit. We were there in November and didn't get much of a view but those the day after did. Refuge and food were comfortable and copious. In summary, great service and would recommend.

I had a wonderful time with my guide Ovidio on the 2 day Huayna Potosi climb. Ovidio was always very patient and friendly. Without him it would have been much harder to reach the top. Jiwaki is a good agency with good equipment and tasty food in the refugios. All of this for a very good price

I had been advised to go with Jiwaki for the Huayna Potosi hike and I see why they came so highly recommended. From start to finish they were incredible. They are very professional and safe. The guides are very skilled, patient and client safety is very important to them. The equipment is excellent, I suffer from the cold and was warm in all their gear. The food was incredible, so much food! I managed to make it to the summit thanks to the help of my guide William. He was so patient with the group. Thanks to Jiwaki and William for an unforgettable experience. I would definitely go with this group, even if you find a cheaper tour as the equipment is excellent. Jiwaki are very competitively and fairly priced also.

Wir haben uns aufgrund des günstiges Preises und der guten Bewertungen für eine 2-Tagestour auf den Huayna Potosi mit Jiwaki entschieden und waren in Bezug auf Organisation, Unterkunft (Basis-Mehrbettzimmer), Zustand des Equipments (z.B. Petzl-Steigeisen und -Helm), Essen und der Tour selbst sehr zufrieden. Jedoch möchten wir an dieser Stelle darauf hinweisen, dass die Guides zwar ausgebildete Mountainguides sind aber keine international anerkannten Zertifikate besitzen (für 100 Dollar pro Tag kann unserer Erfahrung nach ein UIAGM Guide angefragt werden, der jedoch unserer Hoffnung entgegen keinen Mehrgewinn in Bezug auf Sicherheit und den Aufstieg hatte) und häufig das Gefühl vermitteln, dass der Aufstieg keine Gefahren birgt. Von akuter Höhenkrankheit ist hier kaum die Rede (obwohl Teilnehmer*innen häufig und ernsthaft höhenkrank werden), es wird nicht nach Vorbereitung, Akklimatisierung oder Vorerfahrungen gefragt. Natürlich ist der Huayna Potosi einer der einfacheren 6000er, dennoch ist es eine Hochtour, die zumindest eine Grunderfahrung auf dem Gletscher voraussetzt, da einige Passagen geklettert werden müssen oder sehr eng und steil sind. Auch eine gute sportliche Fitness und eine ausreichende Akklimatisierung (mindestens eine Woche über 3500-4000m) sind definitiv vonnöten. Während des Aufstiegs sind unsere Guides leider kaum auf die Bedürfnisse und unterschiedlichen Niveaus der Teilnehmer*innen eingegangen und haben die Aufstiegstaktik nicht besonders klug gewählt (z.B. Pausenplätze, Beachtung anderer Gruppen und der Engstellen). Unserer Meinung nach (wir sind bereits Hochtourenerfahren und ausgebildete Höhenmediziner) wird der Aufstieg häufig zu sehr auf die leichte Schulter genommen, insbesondere Hochtourenanfänger*innen sollten die Risiken gut abwägen und ggf. mit leichteren Touren beginnen oder bei einer Eisausbildung über mehrere Tage Erfahrungen sammeln.

Es de lo mejor que se puede hacer. La agencia provee todo lo necesario. El ascenso en dos días es más adecuado si ya se realizó otro en los días previos.

Je recommande vraiment cette agence pour l’ascension de Huayna Potosi ! Cela a duré 2 jours, c’était notre première expérience en alpinisme et à cette hauteur et nous avons adoré. L’équipement était super et le guide très gentil. Très belle expérience !

Une aventure inoubliable !!! C'était une première pour nous et nous avons été très bien guidés par Juan : nous avons réussi à atteindre le sommet pour notre plus grande fierté. Anche il cibo trasportato dalle guide al rifugio molto buono. Consiglio assolutamente questa agenzia, se tornerò a La Paz, tornerò anche da loro!
