The horseback riding excursion was excellent. The driver, Freddy, was friendly and easy to find. Our horseback guide, Holger, was excellent too. He took us on a very fun ride through the mountains, which included walking, trotting and cantering on the horses. It also included some walking aspects which were very fun and interesting, led by Holger. The horses were also well mannered and a joy to ride.

My experience horseback riding with Holger to the Devil’s Balcony was incredible. It was easily one of the best things I have ever done. I got lucky because it ended up being just me and Holger and it felt like a private tour. Holger was wonderful - very friendly, informative, and helpful with photos. He shared a lot of interesting information about the region and the ride was so peaceful and fun. The horses were lovely and calm. The views are unreal, breathtaking. We stopped along the way for some meditation, snacks, and to visit an old Incan temple. I cannot recommend this experience enough. If you’re visiting the area, don’t hesitate to do this! I would definitely do it again if I get to visit again.

This ride was great fun and really interesting! Olger looked after us well and had lots of information about the area too. The horses and equipment were well kept and the horses well behaved.

We chose this tour as a way to kill some time before heading to the airport. I'm so glad we did! We were picked up from our hotel in Cusco. The transportation was immaculate. We spent most of our time on the horses walking and at times trotting through the countryside. After days of tours visiting the various ruins, it was a nice change of pace. It was the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen. Holger gave us such a wonderful tour and bits of information about the areas we passed through. You must do this tour!!

Very well organised, really nice guide, informative and interesting tour. The horses were really well trained. The equipment was good. We got great value for money because it wasn't just riding but also interesting stops to look at ancient Inca temples and caves etc.

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Hector was an amazing guide and extremely knowledgeable about the sites and landscapes we were visiting and his horses were well-tempered and well-cared for. There were stretches of trotting and cantering that will thrill more experienced riders and beginners alike—my husband, who has basically zero riding experience, felt at ease. A couple of steep-ish climbs but trust the horses and trust Hector! Absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend this as a unique way to experience the Andes and all its beauty.

I had a lovely ride in a very small group. Holger seeked to give each rider a horse matching her riding-ability. The landscape is beautiful and Holger could give us a lot of educational insight into the cultural and ecological background of the areas we visited. The horses were eager and fun to ride. I would have loved to spend some time on the ranch before the ride (grooming nmd saddleing the horses) , to get to know the horses better before the ride, as i had the feeling they were a bit shy.

Yes, we did visit Machu Picchu, so saying that anything other than that was *the* highlight of our trip might be a bit much, but it is certainly true in some respects. Having travelled to 60+ countries, I use Tripadvisor extensively to find great places to visit, but I rarely write reviews. Via Estancia Ranch is beautiful, and it would be difficult to be to over-emphasize how great a tour we had with Holger. He's a smart guy, and a great guy. The horses are beautiful and well trained, and Holger did a spectacular job of explaining a lot of history to us along the ride. The ride itself is beautiful, and there were some wonderful stops that I would rather not give away. Nothing seemed rushed, and it was very evident that Holger's top priority was that we had a great time - he succeeded! Without going into detail and obligating Holger, I would like to mention that he went WAY out of his way to help us to see some things in Cusco that would have been a bit more challenging without his help. He's just a very very nice person! Finally, our two girls absolutely love horseback riding, and so I try to find these opportunities whenever we travel. I will say, without any question whatsoever, that this was the best horse riding experience that we have ever had anywhere in the world. Don't hesitate for a moment. This is an experience that should cost way more than it does!

Highly recommend this horse back tour. We were picked up from our hotel no problem. Lovely friendly guide. Excellent English, so kind and caring. I had only ridden a horse once before, my friend was an experienced rider. He picked horses to suit us both. My horse was amazing, so well behaved. Really nice farm where his horses are kept. You can see they are well looked after. Friendly dogs running around. Nice long tour with interesting detailed info on the area and the history. Showed us the best spots for views and photos and took lots of great pics for us. I was comfortable on my horse and my friend asked if we could canter, which we did and was the most amazing experience. Again my horse kept me safe through out and behaved impeccably. We had such a great day. Thank you.

We had a wonderful and very educational experience on this tour. As an animal lover it was so beautiful to experience the beautiful mountains of Cusco on horseback. The horses also appeared to be well taken care of and admired by the staff. Exploring the Caves also was a added bonus.

OF ALL THE OPTIONS, CHOOSE THIS ONE!!! 💛🇵🇪💛 Oh my goodness! I genuinely didn’t expect this to end up being such an awe inspiring, spiritual, magical, knowledgeable, and incredibly scenic experience. Holger was the most incredible guide, with such well cared for horses and the dogs are adorable. We went to so many scenic and hidden historically significant sites on horseback! I am so glad that I chose this experience over any other experience with horses or even any tour. The connection Holger shows and feels for each historical site is so powerful and inspiring. I will absolutely do this experience again if I can make time on the way back! I’d explain more in detail about some of the really cool and expected things that we saw but ✨spoilers✨

This horseback riding tour is amazing! I was picked up at my hotel on time. The driver - Marco, was polite, and my tour guide - Holger, was informative and knowledgeable. Not only did he take the time to give us some basic education about horseback riding, how to control the horse, etc., but he also shared a lot of interesting facts/stories about the sites we visited that day. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Cusco, Peru!!
