Nice walk around the area, a bit of historical talks and inexpensive. It is priced right as we did not go pass shops, bars or restaurants. Just neighborhoods and the waterfront.

Lawrence was very informative and personable. We would recommend Lawrence and this tour to all. Great way to learn of the cities history.

Excellent walking tour with our splendid guide Dennis. Very knowledgeable and genuinely amusing we thoroughly enjoyed the two hours or so in what was a pretty large group of about 20. We covered all aspects of the historic city particularly the architecture which has been so sensitively preserved to the benefit of us all. Would definitely recommend particularly if you follow it up with a trip to Fort Sumnter.

This tour hit a lot of the highlights that we were interested in and gave us some fun background history that we wouldn’t find in a tour book or if we just wandered around on our own.Dennis was a great guide. Highly recommend!

Awesome tour with a well versed and friendly guide - Lawrence. Only gap or issue is that we would have liked to hear more about slavery in the area and slave trade. Lawrence touched on it but significantly downplayed it.

Seeing the architecture and hearing the stories about how things evolved makes exploring more meaningful. Even the food is more interesting once you understand more about the people and history.

Our waking tour with tour guide Dennis on 4.29.24 was absolutely fabulous! We were blessed with perfect weather, a relatively crowd-free day and a congenial group of tourists with whom we shared the experience. Dennis was a treasure trove of Charleston history. His choices for stops along the route were spot on. He added just enough joie de vivre, anecdotes and animation to make the tour both informative and fun!

Amy Tankersley was our guide and she was wonderful! She provided so much knowledge about the city’s history, flora & fauna and had a great sense of honor that made the tour entertaining and fun! She did an excellent job at covering a wide variety of historic sites, beautiful gardens and buildings throughout downtown Charleston. We were especially impressed with her book that was chock full of maps, visual aids and even a 3 dimensional diorama that she made herself! We left the tour with a long list of additional suggestions form her of things to see and places to eat.
