Enjoyed seeing and hearing about houses and buildings in historic Charleston. Excellent guide added stories associated with some of the houses, very informative and interesting!

Captain Jim gave us an awesome tour through alleyways and key historical sites of the city. We appreciated his friendliness, his wealth of knowledge, his walking pace, and sharing beautiful parts of the city we would’ve almost certainly missed had we not gone on his tour.

Our tour guide was Mark Jones and this guy knows his stuff. Generations of his family are from the area and he can give insight of things that you can’t learn in a book. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There is quite a bit of walking, but it’s done in a leisurely way.

I think our guid was just fantastic 👌. He has amazing history knowledge and makes it fun to hear his tails if growing up Charleston. Worth every penny.

Mark was terrific!! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable but made the southern tales interesting and fun. Highly recommend this walk- you get a great taste of waterfront history and architecture as well as interesting facts you didn’t know!!

A very different tour . Not a cookie cutter tour of the streets and information. Captain Jim made the tour very interesting with the information and knowledge of Charleston buildings, history, and folklore. We had a great time.

This was a wonderful tour! The tour guide, Lawrence, did a wonderful job. It is a great overview and a perfect way to begin a trip to Charleston. Even if you have been there before, I’m sure you will learn more about the history and people of Charleston.

We took the morning walking tour on our first full day in Charleston. Our tour guide, Lawrence (sp?) , was great — knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer all sorts of questions. In addition to some of Charleston’s history, we learned cool tidbits about things you’ll see throughout the city (e.g., markers for liquor stores, who has done a first class job on their renovations, former horse and carriage routes, places we didn’t have time to see during the tour but will visit on the rest of our trip, etc) and got acquainted with the city’s layout. It was also a great walk before chowing down on a massive BBQ lunch. Highly, highly recommend.
