Ezra was an amazing guide through the vastness of the Alps! He met us at the Lucerne train station and kept us engaged from the moment we got picked up until the end of our time together. Ezra was super knowledgable and in sync with his surroundings, adding a whole new layer of depth to our hike. I so appreciated his attention to detail and commitment to making our hike amazing! Thanks so much!

We had a great time on this hike with John, our guide. He was very knowledgeable about the area, and answered all of our questions. I would highly recommend this hike, and would rate it an easy hike but definitely wear hiking boots as some of the trails are rocky.

Our private tour of the Alps was an incredible experience! Our guide, Livia, met us at the train station and led us on an excellent adventure tailored to our wishes. After a train ride and short bus ride, we ascended a mountain on a cable car. We hiked along trails, visited a cheese making farm and ate an authentic Swiss lunch surrounded by mountains. The scenery was unbelievable, from snow capped mountains to beautiful waterfalls. Livia was very accommodating and friendly, making our tour even more enjoyable!

The scenery was of course tremendous. The six of us had a wonderful day guided by Amalia, who was a pleasure to be with. The hike was easy and she let us explore, bird and eat at our own pace while providing us with information and conversation along the way. Anyone would be lucky to have har as a guide. Not part of review. Our group was family, adult children and a spouse.

We had a party of 12, encompassing 3 families. This, by far, was one our favorite tours over the course of a 3 week European trip. The Heart of the Alps tour did not disappoint in views, weather, experiences with locals and dining at a quaint restaurant in the heart of the valley. Too many waterfalls to count! This tour was basically a decent hike and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We are grateful for Rene' and Denise for leading us on this once in a lifetime experience.

We had such a blast!! A day tour through the heart of the alps with tour guide David; I cannot say enough. One of the highlights of our trip, he knew lots about the area and helped us feel secure and comfortable. Great person to talk too and clearly loves what he does! Recommend hiking boots if sensitive but just as easy with trusty sneakers. spots to swim if your brave too! Don’t go if rainy and cloudy, and don’t bring many snacks. Lots of food along the way.. Thank you for the lovely time, couldn’t have been the same without this wonderful program- we can’t wait to do more.

My daughter and I booked this hike as the highlight of our trip to Lucerne. The hike was amazing. It was actually more than a hike, as we made stops along the way for coffee, cheese with a tour of the cheese making process and lunch. Our guide John knew so much about the area and shared a great deal of interesting information along the way. He was also super nice, accommodating and helpful, going above and beyond. The scenery was stunning, there were many photo opportunities along the way. The hike ended with an incline ride down the mountain and a ferry back to Lucerne. We’re very happy we booked this hike!

The great way to get to some of the less crowded and most scenic areas of Switzerland. Our guide John Fraser coordinated the whole process and created a perfect day for us. John had a deep knowledge of the history of the towns. Helped us to plan out our next unguided hikes as well.

Great experience! Glenn, our tour guide, was very informative and accommodating in every way. The sights were magnificent, even in rainy/windy weather. Sledding down the trails was our favorite part as well as lunch with a local farmer.

This is a great hike! We had a spectacular day and our guide, Peter, was wonderful. We traveled by train, bus, and cable car to the top of the mountain. After some refreshments, we began the hike. We walked down the mountain to where the bus dropped us off. It took us all day, but we were a little slow! There were four in our group and most of us used walking sticks. I would strongly recommend you take walking sticks and use them! It is downhill and sometimes a little steep. You need good hiking shoes or boots for this trip too. We stopped for lunch at a farmer's restaurant. The food was authentic Swiss and fabulous! The mountain views are the reason to do this trip. There are waterfalls and cows grazing in the fields. It is exactly what you would expect to experience on an alpine walk in Switzerland. I highly recommend this hike!

My wife and I booked this tour day before our departure back to US and it was indeed the “cherry on top” of our experience in Switzerland. Pete was an excellent guide who provided us undivided attention and helped stay off the tourist trails which allowed us to obtain truly amazing hiking experience and great authentic lunch with a beautiful view. I highly recommend Pete as your guide.

A fantastic day hike in the Alps that our family will remember always. Hiking is a fantastic way to experience the natural beauty of the mountains, waterfalls and flowers. The outdoor lunch at a farm with delicious, authentic Swiss food—and friendly dairy cows was another highlight of the day. Our guide Pete was terrific!

I cannot say enough about this experience, everything was just perfect. Our guide Andrea injected us with his love for the mountains. He took us into a local experience. The trails were mesmerizing!!!! Only a few locals passed by. When we take tours we want to make sure we stay away from the "touristic experience" instead we look for local experience and this hike was exactly that!!

The Heart of the Alps with our guide Peter was more than just a hike. He was very knowledgeable and absolutely made sure that we were having the best time possible. Lunch at the Alpine restaurant was simply fabulous. I definitely would use Echo Trails on my next trip to Switzerland.

We can't say enough good things about our day! Our guides, Dave and Peter, were unbelievably knowledgeable and personable. Everything about the day was well-organized, so all the guesswork was removed for us. We even got to stop at a cafe for a "gipfel" before we started out. Thanks for a great time :)

This is a great hike for all fitness levels. The personal attention and service was terrific. The guides met us at the train station in Lucerne. The entire day from train stations to the mountain went smoothly. A coffee and croissant at the top of the mountain before the hike began was even included. Peter and Dave were very knowledgeable about the area and Switzerland. We had a group of 7 with age range from 54 - 20. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone.

It was the most amazing experience to be walking/hiking in the Heart of the Alps, surrounded by mountains towering over us, and cows wearing bells. My two adult daughters and I began our journey from Zurich on the 7:04 train. Our guide, Pete, met us as planned in Luzern, then we journeyed by train, bus and cable car up to Furenalp at 1850 m. After a coffee, croissant, and chance to soak in the beauty of the Alps, we began our descent of 850 m over 12 km. I had to keep pinching myself to believe I was really there! Our guide Pete was excellent! We set the pace and he shared his extensive Swiss historical knowledge. I can't recommended this particular tour enough. Our only regret was not ordering lunch at the Staefeli Alpine restaurant. The food looked excellent, but we were concerned about taking too much time because we had to catch a flight out of Zurich in the evening. Hopefully we'll make it back someday for a different Echo Trails tour.
