Wow! This trip was amazing! We got a call the day before checking we were still coming and suggesting we layer up and to take seasickness tables if we were susceptible as it looked like it sited be windy and therefore a bit choppy. As it turned out, i thought it was pretty calm. The boat was great, lots of space to move around and the trip out was very scenic. We found a pod in the middle of hunting a sea lion. One of the ladies said she had been working on the boat three years and this was the first time she had seen a hunt and so we were very lucky, I don’t think the sea lion felt the same way. It was fantastic to see them in their natural environment doing what Orcas do and all the staff were extremely knowledgeable about who we were watching and about Whales on general. The captain was respectful at keeping his distance, giving the orcas lots of space. On the way back we spotted sea lions chilling on a rock. The thing that topped it for me though was the willingness to send the photos the staff took with their big lenses to everyone on the trip at no extra charge! Amazing trip, fabulous people would highly recommend.

We went with Prince of Whales on a four hour whale watching trip on a beautiful sunny day last week. The views on the boat while sailing from vancouver island are absolutely stunning and worth booking just for that, if you like being on the water the you'll be happy, some seabirds to be spotted which was great for me as I'm a big bird fan. The main event was a huge male biggs orca called Harbeson who spent around an hour with us surfacing around the boat with a big 'whoosh', which you could feel in your toes! It was an absolutely life changing experience and I am still reliving it now! It was an honour to be in the presence of such a beautiful amonal and to see him in his natural environment was perfect. The captain was respectful and never got too close, turning down the engines and just allowing the whale to make the decisions; this is the way to watch wildlife. The crew (Raj, Jesse and Tyler) were amazing! You could tell they were all equally as exited which was great to see! They had tonnes of knowledge about the wildife and the area and were great fun to chat to. A special mention to Raj who was us when we spotted Harbeson, he only spoke when the whale was diving giving us time to just watch in peaceful awe everytime he came back up for air. He knew loads about the whales and gave us lots of really fantastic info. I had come to see orca and I was not disappointed. They also took is to see the Stellas sea lions which was a real treat on the way back to port! The company's green and sustainability credentials are a big win for me too. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone!

Excellent trip with wonderful views of both Orcas and Humpback Whales. The staff were helpful and knowledgable throughout thr trip.

The day before was cancelled unfortunately with the weather, but the staff of Richard, Gord, Reid, Rajan, Michael were so understanding. Fortunately I was able to reschedule to the following day and they made it an unforgettable experience, as it was always a dream of mine to see Orcas in the wild. They were so welcoming and friendly and I can't recommend this tour enough.

We saw orcas, humpbacks and sea lions! The guides were very knowledgeable and funny and really added to the tour. It was a nice surprise that the tour offered free coffee, tea and hot chocolate and that they also send photos of the wildlife as well as a map of the journey to you for free as well!

We had a lovely time on our tour! The crew was great, Raj was very knowledgeable and answered all questions we had, Jesse was very humorous and made it so much fun and our trip wouldn’t have been half as delightful without the hot chocolate refills we got from Tyler! The crew even took us further east than some of them had been just so they could guarantee us a whale spotting which we really appreciated. Would recommend the catamaran as it has lots of decks for viewing and also sheltered spots to get out of the wind to warm up.

We had a fabulous time! A full four hours and saw tons of whales, sea lions, birds and eagles. The guides were so knowledgeable and helpful. We highly recommend this tour and company.

We had a great time. Michael and Reid were so knowledgeable and friendly. Gord was the same. They roamed the boat and engaged with everyone. We saw a pod of Orcas. The crew recognized the mother and her calf and knew their numbers and names by photos shared with other sightings. Having pictures to share with people back home was an added bonus! We had a fun and educational cruise.

Very good staff and very good trip. We have seen a lot especially otters holding the urchin, looks so funny. Thanks and it’s a must go.

We had a wonderful time on the half day whale watching tour 11th April. The team were so informative and engaging from the moment we had the briefing at the harbour to the moment we stepped off. We were fortunate to see 9 whales on our trip, sea lions, seals and lots of birds! It was a magical experience seeing the animals up close in their natural environment and we learned so much from Rajan and Reid. Their passion and interest came through so clearly in the way they took care of the group and shared their knowledge of marine wildlife. And the photo package is fab! Would recommend to anyone visiting who's keen to see whales - you're in good hands with the Prince of Whales team!

We had a lovely weather day, sunny with calm waters. We had booked the previous day with another outfit but that was cancelled due to too few patrons. I phoned POW today and they confirmed they were a go for the 12:30 sailing and there had been lots of whale sightings. We certainly weren’t disappointed with the almost one hour rendezvous in the San Juan Islands with the T46 Biggs orca pod, topped off by a visit simultaneously with the T36 Biggs orca pod towards the end of our tour. Not only did we witness the beautiful rhythmic swimming but also some breaching and spy hopping during a feeding frenzy. On the way back, we stopped by a tiny island covered in Stellar Sea Lions which was also amazing. Thanks so much to Captain Richard, First Mate Sandy, Naturalists Rajan, Sophia and Michael whose knowledge, good humour and patience made for an enjoyable afternoon. I would highly recommend Prince of Whales for your whale watching experience. Thanks for the great day!

The trip was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. The boat was very comfortable. Lots of opportunities for photos. A lovely day on the water.

This was the first time we saw Killer Whales in the Ocean where they belong. We kept a substantial distance so as not to crowd them. The crew are real professionals and are very knowledgable. We will certainly do this tour again.

Richard, Sandy, Michael and Reid did a fantastic job. We were unlucky with the whales, but the crew kept us entertained and worked so hard to try find whales. The seals and sea lions were delightful!
