We started by getting a tour of the actual gardens where the ingredients that we would be using were grown. The tour guide gave us some information about each ingredient before letting us taste them raw as well. We got to try things like pepper, basil, and lemongrass. We then went into the main building where each of us has a spot to cook with all of the necessary items. Before we started cooking, we got to choose a drink. I ordered a butterfly pea flower tea, which was tasty and refreshing. We then made our first course which was the soup. I made chicken coconut soup which was delicious. The coconut milk made for a nice creamy flavor along with the chicken. Our second course was the curry, and I made chicken kao soi. This was chicken with noodles and was also very tasty. After that, I made chicken Pad Thai, and just like every prior course, it was amazing. We made so much food throughout this course that I was way too full to finish it all. Lastly, we ended by making dessert: mango sticky rice. This is one of, if not the most, popular desserts in all of Thailand. I do like mango, but rice for dessert was a little bit strange. Overall, it was an unforgettable experience. The hosts were very knowledgeable and friendly, and even gave us the ability to customize certain aspects of our food such as spiciness or sweetness. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Thailand.

This was a highlight of my trip to Thailand. The School is purpose built in stunning grounds which alone are worth the visit and has its own herb garden that you get shown around, smelling and touching all the different herbs. Cooking consists of 3 courses included a dessert. This was such fun and lots of tips to take away, but most of all the food you craft is stunning and you can make to your taste under the guidance of your chef. There's plenty of breaks, drinks available and best of all you get to sit and gobble up each course you've made. It was also my birthday so grateful for the fuss they made, making this a trip highlight. Must do!

The experience was fantastic, it's very well organized from the hotel pick up to the recipe instructions and change over between dishes. Our host Kiki was hilarious and made our experience very enjoyable. We made a lot of food in a short period of time which made it hard to finish it all unfortunately. It was a nice surprise to have a photographer come around to take pictures throughout the experience. I wish we had a heads up about that because we didn't get any group photos which works have been a nice keepsake. I would highly recommend this class!

So well organized, fun, excellent instruction, great experience. I was a little nervous because I need to eat gluten free, but it was no issue at all. Shortly after arriving they asked about allergies and when I said GF they replaced the sauce sauce at my cooking station with gluten free soy sauce. When special ingredientes were needed it was made very clear what was GF and what wasn’t. Others were vegetarian which also seemed very easy to manage. I learned a lot, ate a lot, and had a great time.

Super fun cooking class and beautiful property for the course! They walk you through the garden and tell you about each ingredient, and they even send you the recipe so you can cook it on your own later! Would recommend!

One of the best experience ever in Thai! Highly recommended! Tay was super nice with us, we were a big group of 15 and everything was super easy and pleasant. Definitely my favourite cooking class so far!

Wow! What an incredible morning! We learned so much about Thai cookery from our wonderful host Tay. Starting at the market to view and learn about key produce of the dishes we would cook. The cookery school was in a stunning location surrounded by immaculate organic gardens. The dishes we cooked (selecting your own to suit your tastes or dietary requirements) we so delicious! A truly immersive experience. And the team of staff were so organised. An absolute delight! Would highly recommend this trip.

This was an amazing experience! I highly recommend! Our instructor, Garnet was top notch! The surroundings were beautiful! The food was excellent! 10/10 for sure!

Great experience all in all and would highly recommend to anyone coming to Chiang Mai. They organised the pick up from the hotel and drive you to the farm. The facilities are top notch and each cooking class has a section for the cooking and another for you to dine and have your meal. The cooking class itself was amazing and catered to vegetarians and vegans. Before we started the class the instructor walked us around the farm and talked us through the all the herbs and spices used in cooking Thai meals. We made 4 dishes being a soup, curry, pad Thai and dessert. Food was really tasty and they provide detailed instructions step by step on how to make your meals. One point to remember if you’re doing the evening class is to cover yourselves wearing long sleeve tops as there are a lot mosquitos around there.

The meals were delicious and the host was so friendly. We also did a tour in the garden, it was a great evening.

We had a great time with easy transportation, a great menu selection for four courses, good instruction, and a fun group to cook with. The gardens here are beautiful and you learn just how much they really grow and use locally - it’s impressive. If you want a break from the city, good food (or blame yourself as the chef), and an all around fun time, I’d recommend this.

My husband and I enjoyed this cooking class a lot! We had a choice of chicken, shrimp, or vegetarian for a 1) soup dish, 2) a curry dish, 3) pad Thai. First, we chose what we wanted to cook and while our equipment was being prepared, we got some time to wander the grounds a little bit. They have a cute setup for lots of pictures. Then, we were shown the gardens where all the ingredients we cooked with are organically grown and even got to feed some chickens. It was a cook a dish and then eat right away so it can be enjoyed fresh. I was in awe that I could cook something so delicious! First we made curry paste and set it aside. Then we made soup, pad Thai, and then the curry with mango sticky rice for dessert. Water was free all night. Our cooking school teacher, Anne, was great! She was knowledgeable about all the ingredients, gave clear instructions, and was personable and funny. The only suggestion I would make is if she was not demonstrating, to give the directions in the middle of the class versus at the end. I was farthest from the demo table and sometimes, the directions were given so fast, I couldn’t keep up. It was awesome that the school provides a QR code to download all the recipes and more.

Everything! The pick up was on time and comfortable. The cooking facility and farm is beautiful. The food was delicious and the chef was very clear and helpful. Grandma’s Cooking School is by far the best cooking class I’ve taken in Chiang Mai! My only criticism is that it was so much food, we could barely move after. 10/10 would recommend.

This cooking class experience was top notch! We were picked up promptly at our hotel and then had a 30 minute ride to a farm outside of Chiang Mai. Once we arrived we met our chef and she gave us a quick tour of the property before we began. We had about 10 minutes to grab a water, soda, or beer (soda and beer are extra) and roam the property. Afterwards we put on our aprons and hats, and she took us on a tour through the garden. We were able to see so many ingredients being grown locally and even taste them (lemongrass, holy basil, lemon basil, sawtooth coriander, ginseng, kafir lime trees, galangal, etc.). She explained the history of each ingredient and how some of them are used for hair/body care which was super interesting. Afterwards, we started cooking and all of the techniques and and steps were explained in a very clear, concise, and easy to digest way. We were all cared for and helped if and when we ever needed it (I don’t know about you but cooking over a huge flame in a REAL wok can be quite intimidating). In the end, all of our dishes came out divine and everyone has an absolutely exciting time. I highly recommend opting for the Khao Soi, Tom Kha Gai with shrimp, and Pad Thai with shrimp. We also made probably one of the best versions of mango sticky rice I’ve ever had. This was one of the top highlights of our honeymoon (stayed in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket). I will remember this experience for a lifetime and any of you who are considering it HAVE to book it! Let this be your sign from gate :)

We had a great time with Brian as our teacher! We started the class with a short walk around the farm, smelling & sampling different herbs. When coming back to the class, we had the opportunity to make 4 different dishes. Each one tasted better than the next and Brian was a great teacher! Overall, our group had a great time, and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Chiang Mai!
